Susie Ramroop coaches women in business to find their focus and do what matters. Qualified as a Performance Coach in 2006, whilst Directing transformation teams in the tech sector. Her training helped her to realise that capability and joy were not the same thing – on reaching the top of her game, she felt flat, and so she redirected her efforts and crafted a career that focuses on making a difference to women in leadership. She empowers you to take the time to know yourself, show true leadership before you get the title, and unlock the path to bigger, more impactful work.
Nothing gets past Susie - she sees all of your brilliance and will call out your limiting behaviour so that you surrender chuckling. Susie is an articulate and empowering Coach, who brings laser focus and an enormous heart to lasting business and personal growth.
As the UK's thought leader on impostor syndrome, Susie is an exciting and, occasionally, hilarious speaker that will have you raring to take action (that makes a difference) as you leave the room. You will find her on stage at leadership conferences, leading speed mentoring for networks, voicing her views on BBC radio and sharing her parenting tips in Families Magazine.
Susie lives in London with her daughter (the next Coaching generation), and loves nothing more than being outside (limited to her back garden at the moment). She loves sport, floral design, sailing, photography, and jigsaws with not too many trees or blue skies.
Susie works privately with individuals, with Mastermind groups in business, and runs utterly transformational forest Retreats - to discuss your coaching needs with Susie you can speak to her at susieramroop.com/booking.
A great, straightforward guidebook on how to become the best version of yourself and an inspiring leader that people around you can look up to. The part about asking questions is my favourite one! So happy I have it on my (virtual) shelf - it’s a book I will keep coming back to, now that I know its magic.
I bought this book before the author gave a talk about imposter syndrome as part of Learning at Work Week where I work earlier this week. I was so psyched by the talk that the book went straight up my to be read list.
I have had a first read-through and will read it again more slowly to do the exercises. I particularly liked the idea that you should expand your comfort zone by working at the edges rather than taking leaps outside it.
Too many books don't help me move my needle because they suggest I should do things I'm not comfortable with or don't feel realistic for me. I have a feeling this one will be different because it's so practical with so many ways to get going and inspiring ideas on what leadership should look like that I feel that 'even' I can do it. The first thing I want to do is unclench! I don't have to be someone I am not in order to lead - it's so freeing! Let's do this!
Focus on you while you read this book. This is your journey. Be selfish about it. You'll realise that 'selfish' isn't such a dirty word as the book goes on.' This is just one of many things Susie says in her book that I have highlighted - in fact, my highlighter had almost run out by the time I had finished it! Highly recommend this book, straightforward, uncomplicated and to the point. If you want to take action and become the 'real' you, read this book.
I found this book super valuable, it fits with where I am in my professional life. It breaks down the techniques into simple chunks that are easy to incorporate into every day life, and are effective in getting the results I am looking for. Susie is a compelling writer and her wealth of experience comes across in this book. Take homes included the focus on the positive, and setting boundaries in all areas of my life.
This book brings together many fantastic ideas and turns them into practical, achievable steps so that you can reach the potential that you always, deep down, knew you had. In her humorous, brave and uncompromising style, Susie Ramroop joins the dots to guide us safely to mindset change. Anyone who feels stuck, overlooked and unfulfilled in their lives should give this book a try. It will help you understand what's important to you, what success looks like for you, and the steps you can take to achieve it. Inspiring.
As easy as ABC - I am infamous for buying books and not finishing them but not with this one!! This book draws you through the pages and its own ABC guidance supported me along the way: Awareness of my habit with books, Contributing to Me, by being Brave to keep reading. It will be a continual reference for months to come.
This book is really refreshing. It makes you sit up and recognise what deep down you know but have perhaps been ignoring and gives you actions to take right now. It is insightful and easy to digest and calls you out to make changes today. I will be recommending this to all the aspiring leaders I know.
It's a fearless and straightforward guide to crafting the life you truly desire. Susie eliminates "maybe" and "hopefully" from her vocabulary, urging you to confidently take charge of your narrative.
Having delved into numerous self-help books, this one struck a chord with me. It resonated with my personal experiences, prompting a shift in my thinking. I've drastically reduced my use of "hopefully" and am now boldly owning my intentions.
Susie skillfully blends personal stories with psychological insights, creating a relatable and easily digestible read. She confronts the realities of personal growth head-on, making this book a practical and inspiring companion for those on a journey toward positive transformation.
Susie entertains, challenges and holds you to account in all the right measures in Be the Leader You Want to See. My first time reading a book like this and I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm so glad I came across it. It's broken down into easy to read sections, something that I've also already found useful when referring back to certain areas. I was fuelled with ideas to take actions on right away (and yes, they made a difference right away!) as well as getting excited for and plotting my longer term action plan.
What a breath of fresh air! Susie’s style allows you to take a step back, analyse who you think you are then take what you need from the book to be a better you! I always thought I was fairly confident, same as being brave right??? Wrong!! Realised I was the only person holding myself back from taking a leap forward! I learnt to take action and actually make things happen!! So many excuses!! A lot of take aways and a definite ‘must read’!!
A good leadership book. I wish I had read it before but it is the foundation of many coaching I have received, so a good starting point for aspiring leaders.
Good little leadership book that’s useful beyond gender boundaries. This is packed with quick advice and self reflective questions that make you think a little differently about approaches and behaviours
Recommended?: it’s a more personalised take than many leadership books. With as much insight into the author’s history and lessons learnt as the advice it shares. It makes the book effective and relatable. Worth a look.
I thought this book was unnecessarily stereotypical about women when its lessons might also be useful for anyone trying to find their own value and place in life.
