These stories are all well-written and varied in emotional appeal. Some comic, some heartfelt, some pathetic, and some gruesome, but each features a particular challenge of childhood or coming of age. Several focus on missing children, one of the perils of youth throughout the world and beyond.
Of particular merit to me were Marie Vibbert's "From the Trash," a comic tale set on the moon about an orphaned boy's search for shelter, Jeremy Thackray's "The Inspection," a thoughtful tale about a different kind of foundling, and Noah Grace's "Everything Under the Sun," a tale about missing children in world amenable to pausing.
