Clint Wolf books are always perfect!! When I finish one I have to start the next. Once I start a book, I don't stop until I've finished. This book, as all his others, are a mystery full of information and clues you will try to solve (if you can). This particular story was taking the reader one way, until about 75%. Then my theories crumbled. I quickly picked up on another thread and that's all I'm going to say!! Lol. Just let it be known, BJ doesn't end his stories with that simple of an ending!! Nope! Nada!! I highly recommend this book and all of BJ Bourg's books. Thank you BJ for having your books in Kindle Unlimited.
A bank robbery during which the manager is shot dead is proving baffling. There’s no rhyme or reason for the killing – at least none that Homicide Detective Clint Wolf can find. But there’s one name that keeps cropping up, so much so that he appears to be a slam dunk for the murder. However, the author, C. J. Bourg doesn’t operate that way – it's not quite a red herring, it’s more of a McGuffin! “But Not Foreknown”, fifteenth in the series, is a solid procedural with a surprise twist. I’m taking a break from Clint Wolf for a while – I'll come back to it and, hopefully, get even more enjoyment from Clint, Susan and the good folk of Mechant Loup. 4 Stars.
In real life, when all evidence points to one man, he’s probably the criminal. When it happens in fiction, you know it’s a red herring. Well, usually.
Book fifteen of the Clint Wolf series does a fantastic job of tying several crimes together—current and cold case. Just when you think you know where it’s going, you don’t. Not exactly.
This is an exciting one to unravel. I had it narrowed down to two people (ignoring the obvious) and found the conclusion satisfying. And the police department is growing, so that’s going to add a new dynamic to the mix. Looking forward to more in this series.
I binged on Clint Wolf series and despite a few weak spots I’ll follow-up on book 16 when it is released.
Clint Wolf is the typical tough guy non nonsense cop, well liked by just about everybody as is the same for his wife Susan also a tough no nonsense cop. He is chief of detectives and she is chief of police. Several good supporting characters. The plots are good but nothing special. Relatively clean of sex and vulgar language. The Clint and Susan marriage is kind of cheesy at times but after 15 books of it I’ve come to accept it.
A bank robbery, killing the manager, was it a cover up for murder, no money was asked for or taken. An in depth plot that is full of twists and turns, even to a cold case is some how involved. It has Susan cornered by two of the robbers and they didn’t shoot her, why. Looking for shell castings to tie It to the crimes. Suicides that turn out to have been murder. A gripping plot to the end. Great series
Clint is called to investigate why the bank is closed in the early afternoon. When he arrives, the bank is closed, and the door is locked, so he gets the owner to come with a set of keys. Opening it up, they find the cameras shot out the employees and customers locked in the vault, and the manager murdered with nothing apparently taken. Fast-paced story with many divergent lines of investigation.
I actually finished this book within one week of opening the cover. I'm an odd sort of reader and often forget details which for me, makes it entirely possible to read a book and enjoy it more than once. What I can say in general regarding the books I've read by BJ Bourg, is that they are always fascinating.
This was another great book with Clint Wolf and Susan Wolf. Clint and Amy, his new detective were trying to figure out a bank robbery and murder. Other cases move in to distract them, but keeping the search up brings the. To a 27 year old unsolved case. How many cases can they juggle? This is a page turner and the 15th book in the series.
I have read all of the Clint Wolf books and loved everyone of them. They offer a little of everything.....romance, suspense, mystery, sadness, and of course a little is mixed in. I highly recommend all of the Clint Wolf books!
This is one of my favorite series!! Love Clint and all the characters. There’s so much suspense and action. Love the twists and turns. I’m always sad when I come to the end because I want to keep reading. Always anxious for another one. Love them!!
This book in this series was as great as all the rest. It is filled with lots of thrills and suspense. I hope there will be more books in this series . Highly recommend this book and series.
Wow! I love this series! All fifteen books in the series kept me captivated. These are great books that keep you on the edge. I definitely recommend the entire fifteen book series!
I love these Clint Wolf mysteries! They have it all! Well written, damn good characters, great mysteries, and told well. These books grab by the pants and drag you to the end!
How can you improve on perfection. I look forward to all of his books because he weaves a realistic picture of beginning, middle, and ending. You have a feeling you as the reader are seeing the written work by being there.
Another solid police investigation leads to the murderer with double backs and twists to keep you guessing. Good character development and suspenseful story.
I've read the first15 books in this series and they continue to be excellent. The continuing family and other characters infractions coupled with the jobs they do as police personnel make the stories really interesting. Good reads, especially in sequence.
But Not Foreknown has a real kicker of a surprise ending. Clint solves an old murder routed in today’s community. Interesting how it starts with a woman looking for something completely unrelated. Highly recommended
Like the previous 14 or so books of BJ Bourg that I have read, this one was also excellent from the very first page. As with almost all of his stories, the ending was pretty surprising and unexpected. Waiting to read the next one.
As usual, this book was well written and worth the time reading it. I read at night to relax but this book is not for relaxing. It keeps me in suspense and I just want to find out who did it. The ending is always a surprise and I always guess the wrong person.
I love this series of Clint in Louisiana but I question how come Clint had to drive out to the killers place to talk to him because there was no cell service but received a call on his cellphone that solved the murder?
Great mystery with many possibilities to deflect your attention even as you see all the clues pointing to one individual. The ending is appropriate and slick in the way all the pieces add up and seem so reasonable.
A bank robbery in Merchant Loop that gets stranger & stranger. No money missing, a dead body. The mystery unfolds for Clint & his team. You will be surprised!
