Well, this book was like riding a bucking bronco – I was hanging on for dear life and nearly lost it a couple of times! A few editorial gaffes nearly unseated me, but by the end, I found some orientation and everything made a lot more sense. Then, the more that was revealed, the more depth I found. When we join a cause, just how well do we understand its true origins and purpose? And who exactly are we fighting against? I hope my fragile understanding does the book justice, because this book is bursting with originality and strong images that have come from a very creative mind. I loved how each chapter started with an excerpt from books within a book, especially once I knew the fate of the author. The main characters were nicely crafted – flawed and struggling to make sense of things, and the love interest was a gentle and poignant backdrop. By the end of the book I was almost convinced the editorial errors were deliberate – still not sure about that! Overall, a great read.
