When a beautiful woman grabs you, presses her soft lips to yours, and strips off all her clothes ... you don’t think, you act.
I had no idea my brother came early with his girlfriend to our family’s cabin in Colorado.

I had no idea she wasn’t just another girl I’d picked up at the bar.

I’d been drinking.

These were all excuses. And by a stroke of luck, no one caught us together, and Joslyn didn’t seem to notice the difference between me and my twin. So maybe all is right with the world. Maybe I can pretend nothing happened and move past this.

Except...I like this girl.

This was a cute book about falling for the wrong brother...in a big way. The story of Joslyn and Owen, is a little complicated, and they have to feel their way as this is something neither expected. This story had a surprise in it, and some humor, and lust. It's not over the top in any of these areas and it has an easy flow. This was an easy read and very enjoyable. Told in dual pov.

DNF at 35%

I think it's time I officially DNF'd this one as I haven't touched it in 5 months. What put me off the most is the cheating aspect--the heroine is dating the "hero's" twin brother but accidentally (on purpose?) sleeps with the wrong brother one drunken night. And of course there's an immediate attraction between the two even though the heroine doesn't realize she slept with someone else. I don't like cheating and don't want to read about it, no matter how "romantic" it may seem.

"When it comes to girls, when it comes to relationships, I think I’ve been sleepwalking. Not with you, though, Joslyn. You made me feel things I don’t think I’ve ever felt before."

I have read another book by Sarah Darlington, but it was a little different, because she wrote it with Alora Kate. I really adore when two authors work together, they always make something special, and that's what exactly I felt when I was reading Owen by Kate Darlington. I have never read a novel like Owen before, the characters are is such an interesting and difficult situation, and one of them does not even know about that, but I will write about this later. This book is the first in The Vale Series, but Owen is fully completed, there is no cliffhanger.

"You’re everything to me, Joslyn. You make me happy to get out of bed each day. You make me want to be a better man."

Sarah and Alora wrote such a unique story. The two main characters are in an interesting situation, and I am sure that I have never read about something like this. Now, let's write about a little bit more about the characters: I liked Joselyn, I absolutely adored Owen, and Forrest became my biggest favourite, I really-really hope that one day we can read his story too, I think there is a huge amount of opportunity in him. As for Jeff, I didn't really like him for a long time, but near the end, when he reveals the truth too, I understood him, and everything was crystal clear, and after that, he was likeable too.
This was the very first collaboration between the two authors, and I really do think that their first book is amazing. I took me less than a day to finish it, I liked their writing styles, this book is unputdownable, because you do want to know what is the truth and want to find out everything, and at the same time, you do not want it to end. Personally, I think that this is an awesome book.

"She softly pressed her fingers to my lips. And I swear to God, it might have been below freezing tonight but my entire body warmed."

Taking everything into account, I really do think that Owen by Kate Darlington is an entertaining book. It is full of unexpected turns, it is unpredictable, you never now what will happen next, the characters are amazing, I really liked them, the whole story is well-written, it is super romantic, loveable and funny. I can not wait to read the next book. ♥
I gave five stars for this book, I enjoyed it.

Joslyn was at her boyfriends winter home to meet his family.... The family was due to arrive the next day or so. So, she set out to spice things up with Jeff and that she did.... but with the wrong brother. She was unknowing of this fact, and was happy with the outcome...that is till the next day when things became cold again between the two of them.
We see the age old rivalry between brothers played out with a bet...who can ski faster down a specific hill. With many of things on the line, they both set out to win....
Eventually, it comes out that Joslyn had seduced the wrong brother, and Jeff has a secret of his own.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Joslyn and her boyfriend Jeff go to his parents cabin for Christmas break. Their sex life is mediocre at best, and she wants to spice it up a bit. Joslyn wants to seduce him, but grabs the wrong twin instead.

Trouble is pre-programmed. 😉

How it'll end, you need to find out yourself 😌

Joslyn and Owen are cute together, it's a quick and easy read, nothing to overly dramatic, and I really like Forrest's interaction with them. As this is declared as The Vale Series I hope to read Forrest's story next!

Family can make the holidays awkward & difficult.
Throw in twins, mistaken identity, Colorado winter &
falling for the other twin...and Joslyn has gotten herself
into a fine mess. And its her first time meeting his family!!
But things are never that simple..and emotions run deep & hot
despite the winter chill outside. As she tries to enjoy the holiday,
she finds herself questioning everything she feels & knows.
Alora Kate & Sarah Darlington have certainly weaved a story full
of relatable characters & situations that is a must read.

What happens when you feel a connection with your brothers’ girlfriend? Well, things can get a little complicated. Owen and Joslyn almost have a forbidden type of love. Joslyn is Owen’s identical twin brother’s girlfriend and he has feelings for her big time!
Throughout the story you can feel the lust and the tension building between Owen and Joslyn. Joslyn knows that she shouldn’t be feeling this way towards her boyfriend’s brother, but she also knows that something is off with her boyfriend. You do eventually find out why Jeff is so off, and I was not expecting that twist.
The chemistry between Owen and Joslyn was fantastic. She tried to fight her attraction to him, however, she knew that he was everything she was looking for in her current relationship and possibly more. Owen knew it was bad to be falling for his brother’s girl, but he couldn’t help it. He saw how she was treated and knew he could be so much more for her.
This was a fun, witty and swoon worthy story that I couldn’t put down.

The story line was interesting I just couldn't stand Joslyn. She was kind of all over the place and her reasoning for certain things wasn't that great. Owen was my favorite but even he still aggravated me some. On a good not the writing style wasn't terrible.

P.s I just finished a book by one of the authors and loved it.

Owen, by the new writing team of Alora Kate and Sarah Darlington will check the boxes on all the feels. It’s funny, it’s angsty, and chock full of characters that you can’t help but like. Ok, and one or two you won’t. The story of the most awkward Christmas ever, and its aftershocks will suck you in and make you remember the story long after you’ve finished. This is going to be a wild ride of a series, and I’m excited for the next book!
