It makes some good points and some sound advice but it feels like one of those essays I wrote in school that had to be a certain amount of words and I just added in un-needed information or repetitiveness to bulk it up. Basically- meditate or find something that helps you stay in the moment and be mindful. Doesn't really tell you how, just says look up articles and click this link.
Unfortunately this book spends more time telling what the benefits of mindfulness are and what parts of the brain it help. I still don't know how to practice mindfulness. It mentioned meditation but then said you don't have to sit to do it. I feel I just waisted my time on this book.
This is a short little book that describes the benefits of daily mindfulness. It is well planned out, but I wish it had more instructions rather than descriptions of the brain functions related to mindfulness. Still, if you don’t mind being referred to other resources for further study, then I recommend this book
Informative and helpful read for those like myself looking to begin this journey.
It details the benefits of practicing, but it is not a how-to book about the practice of mindfulness. Short chapters, broken down into smaller subsections and written in an easy to follow along format.
Didn't include many sources and or resources and talked more about the benefits then how to be mindful. Needed more content! A story or an example on mindfullness could have helped the book. Was like any other self help book .
This was something of an introduction to mindfulness. I enjoyed it, but it would definitely be something that would leave you needing to look more into the practice.
Read like a transcript and could use a good editor, but overall great points. If you’re on the fence about trying mindfulness, this is a quick read to tell you why you should try it.
I enjoyed reading through this book. Mindfulness is definitely something that leader needs to be aware of and able to incorporate into their workday. I found this book very interesting to read and helped understand further how to utilize this as a scrum master.
