Despite the generic cover, this was much more in-depth than I expected It to be. It works on the assumption that the reader is new to astral projection and I appreciate the dissection and in-depth conceptualization but the pace bordered on repetition, there’s constant reference to later chapters while most of the extrapolation is anecdotal and once you get to the techniques they’re haphazardly presented with less elaboration than expected. I found it difficult to get through for that reason, the sequencing felt disjointed and did little to hold my attention.
There’s also the issue of credibility; with subjective and metaphysical subjects like this there’s not going to be set source material, but in some parts the author applies this liberty to things that could easily be cited and states random opinions as fact, which is their prerogative considering it’s their manual but it put them on shaky ground in my eyes.

This is not a book to be read superficially - it could make your head spin! It requires careful reading, re-reading and diligent practice to achieve results. Not for the casual inquirer into Astral Projection!

This book uses unnecessarily complicated language that makes it hard to understand what is being said. There are a few helpful bits- but not anything that can't be found elsewhere. It is very stiff in its concepts: any book that says "this is the only way" tends to be misguided and incorrect. The methods and techniques are rigid and don't account for many, many disabilities. There are also a lot of things talked about in length that are not at all related to the subject matter, such as diet; it reeks of fatphobia, ableism, and classism. There are some somewhat helpful nuggets of information in it, but ultimately, I don't feel like I learned much of what I was looking for in this book.
