Cole Denton is an ocean lover who finds joy in almost all physical activities. He is especially passionate about baseball and surfing, indulging in them every chance he gets.
His other passion is writing. It began at a young age and followed him through to his time at a university in SoCal where he majored in screenwriting.
After moving to Sin City, Cole has put his knowledge and talent as a writer to work by pursuing a career as a dark fiction author. Cole is enjoying testing his kinky side, in pursuit of all things pleasurable.
Brutal, dark, devastating heartbreak is what Cole Denton brings to the table in Slave, the fourth book of The Club Oxygen Series. Brandon’s story consumed me from start to finish so much so that I read it in one sitting. I had to hear his story uninterrupted. My heart was broken chapter by chapter while reading Slave. Brandon’s life is irrevocably changed by the act of the only person in the world that he thinks cares for him. The characters that Cole Denton creates are undoubtedly broken in many ways but they become real to you as you enter their world and hear their stories. You believe them, you believe in them, you want to know them (the good ones anyway), you want to let them know that they aren’t alone. People like Brandon and James stay with you and take up residence in your heart. This isn’t a hearts and flowers romance. It’s pain and suffering in some of the worst ways possible. Human beings doing unimaginable evils. On the flip side of that Cole Denton gives us characters like James, proof that there are still good, decent and kind people out there. If you haven’t read any of this series before then I highly recommend that you do. If you have read the first three books, buckle up because this one is the best so far.
Some books are so incredibly complex and beautiful that you don't even know what to write in a review. It feels like EVERYTHING you say could be a potential spoiler. And it would be an absolute travesty to spoil this story. Suffice to say, if you have the guts to venture into the world of 'Brandon Cooper', your bravery will be rewarded ten fold with a story as inspiring as it is heart wrenching.
Wasn't expecting this one to suck me in the way it did but damn, I couldn't stop reading. It was heartbreaking to read about Brandon's early life and the way his pain and loneliness was used against him in the worst way possible, the horrible things he endured, damn.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of his story and see him explore his masochist desires in the caring hands of James in the next book.
This story is epic. The journey Brandon goes on is one of so many different things. I absolutely fell for him. I can't say too much more. One thing I love what he gets from James. The writing and flow of this book is absolutely perfect. I absolutely positively recommend this book and series.
Brandon's story will absolutely rip your heart out. The things he endures during his young life will literally bring you to tears. I just want to wrap my arms around Brandon and never let go. This (Club Oxygen Series) is definitely a must read. Bravo Cole.
This is the fourth book in this series and what an epic read is this. I loved it it is Forged al over. I cried for Brandon. The writing is captivating once you start you can or stop. It is dark and twisted and I dare you to read this and not have you feeling pulled out. Mine were. Cole is a talented writer who knows exactly how to pull at your heartstrings .
We first meet Brandon and James as support characters in the pervious three books of this series and I've been looking forward to their story and even though a series you can read this book without reading the previous three books and still understand their story.
This book starts five years in the past and tells us Brandon's story from the age of 16. Fast forward to the present and he's now 21 and has been taken into care by James.
I don't want to give any spoilers but oh my heart breaks for Brandon 🥺 Slave is part one of Brandon's and James' story and part two, book 5, is Sadist.
This story is just heartbreaking. We start off with a young Brandon, 16 years old and struggling in life. He is smart, popular, charismatic, friendly and sweet but he’s lonely and drowning. His mom and him have a strained relationship. He has no close friends. He feels utterly alone in the world. His mom decides he needs therapy because of his poor attitude. For the first time in his life he feels like someone listens and cares about him. When he turns 18 he ends up in a bad situation. His struggle as a slave has started and we see him slowly deteriorate over the years in captivity. And oh man is it hard to read about. Poor Brandon. I don’t want to say anymore because I don’t want to give it away but we eventually meet James, the other MC. And the second half of the book is their journey. The book clearly has a second one as we are left with an unfinished journey, but in a good place for Brandon. The writing is wonderfully done and evokes so much emotion and pain. So much heartbreak. I just want to wrap Brandon up and love on him.
This is a brutal read that pulls no punches with Brandon’s story. The “golden boy” leads a double life, outwardly popular but really, like anyone just wanting to be seen and loved. A tale of betrayal of family and friends, it will rip your heart out and leave it bleeding on the floor. I was captivated by the rawness of this dark tale, the fourth in the Club Oxygen story. Cole breaks his characters down until they are laid bare and you are at the bottom of an emotional roller coaster, then he drives you back up to the top with heart wrenchingly beautiful characters that restore your faith in mankind. One of those books that really makes you feel; anger, frustration, disappointment, sadness, to hope, love and joy, you will be so connected to these characters that you live the book through them every step of the way. Dark fiction at its best, I can’t wait to hear more from Brandon and James in Slave.
I’ve been waiting for Brandon’s story and it did not disappoint. While I read this it brought up many memories from the back of my mind when I was younger that I did or experienced that I could have easily fallen into a bad situation from putting trust in certain people that you should be able to, but only to realize they’re really are crappy people in the world that will take advantage of you in the worst of ways. Denton paints one of the most accurate pictures of this situation with his book Slave. This book was raw, tragic at times, and soul-stirring. For me this one is going high up on my list of favorite books he has written. With every Denton book be prepared for a dark fictional story that will rock your world in so many different ways. Grab the tissues, the comfort food, and a pillow and dive in for the Club Oxygen experience.
I've been anxiously (and nervously) waiting for this book to release. I knew that Brandon's story was going to be one that was going to break my heart, and it was at times. But Cole is the master at taking tragic, and sometimes brutal, pasts and mending them to heal in the best way. I've loved seeing Brandon in the background of this entire series and now seeing more of him was just perfect. Cole's writing just keeps getting better and better with added layers of emotions and depth that keep elevating each book he writes. Now, we get to wait for the continuation of Brandon and James in Sadist. Ugh! Why do we always have to be patient? I guess I'll try to channel some of James to help. Well done, Mr. Denton. Slave was perfection.
Holy smokes! Where to start... First, I have loved every book in Club Oxygen! Second, Brandon captured my attention from his first appearance and I was eager to know more. Let me tell you... Cole Denton delivered!!! The amount of emotion within this story is overwhelming. While Brandon was popular, good looking, and had all that money could buy, life for him was not all cupcakes and sunshine during his youth. With a mother that set her career above all else, including Brandon, he found what he thought was trust and a caring need that he craved in Eli. The trust he felt turned to betrayal. Sold, abused, and lost from the life he once had. This is Brandon's story and it's not for the faint of heart. Five heartfelt, emotional stars.
Cole Denton has done it again. With each book I have read again he has brought me on an a major emotional rollercoaster. Slave was no different. This book was amazing and showed you the what you do can cause psychological damage to one. How your actions and how you treat individuals can really hurt them. It has consequences. I just wanted to love Brandon and care for him, tell him he would be safe with me, and tell him I would give him the attention he wanted. Each book I have read of Cole's the damaged individuals are the ones I just want to wrap up in my arms up and tell them they are good enough and they are ok. I bawled my eyes out through most this book. Cole has a way of writing and making you feel the emotions his character's are feeling.
This is a story of struggle and perseverance, battling against the quick sands of tragedy and darkness, trying to breath and trying to find the light.
I lived every moment, from being an insecure teenager looking for love and longing to have someone to be there for you. Putting your trust into people who aren’t worthy, missing the signs because you want so badly to be seen and heard. Then quickly switching over to fierce mama bear mode wanting to love and protect. The storm of emotions rattled me until the last enthralling page.
Page after gripping page, paragraph after spellbinding paragraph, this story captivates and this book haunts. This book is not just merely a read, it's a story that is felt, endured, and lived by the heart.
Cole has done it once again. You know how to pull at my heart strings. This book made me want to reach out to Brandon and give him the love he's been needing since he was young. I have such anger for his mother it's unreal. How can one just dismiss their own child like that? Then when Brandon thinks he's finally found someone who actually cares about him he's betrayed in the worst way possible. The abuse he goes through is tough to read. Here comes James who does care about him from the moment he lays eyes on Brandon. The patience he has with Brandon is like no other. Another phenomenal book by the one and only Cole Denton. If you have triggers from abuse this book is not for you. This book deserves way more than 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Cole did it again! He managed to bring us to our rawest nerves, then just when we are to the brink, he brings us back. We get to read Brandon's story, from his high school days of the spoiled rich kid with deep issues and dark secrets to a world that none of us can possibly fathom. We met Brandon in Mistress, but this was after his abuse and on the mend, now we got to read first hand how he got "bent". I loved how little things were brought into it like his love of socks and later "Ohana". Brandon's story is soul crushing, but it seems there is hope for him in James... only 'Sadist' will tell.
I've read the other books in this series so I knew that Brandon's story would be great and that it is. I really enjoyed getting to meet him from age 16 and understand how his life was with his single mom who was too busy trying to make it in the world of modeling to pay any attention to his needs. Then unexpectantly he meets Dr. E and they form an unexpected bond. But what happens next just absolutely shocked me! This poor boy goes from a bad situation into the worst imaginable one. Can he be rescued and by whom? Who can he trust or will he ever? Grab a copy and find out.. I know you'll love it as much as I did!
I'm not sure I have the words to explain how I feel. Once again, Cole's brilliant writing brings out so many emotions in me. From anger and sadness to empathy and even joy, Cole's characters are so real that you cannot help to feel along with them. I actually felt my heart breaking for Brandon and what happened to him when he placed his trust in someone. Where could you possibly go from there? Betrayal and brutal torture, yet this beautiful boy has found a savior, but will it last or will Brandon once again find his trust in the wrong hands? I can't wait for the next book!
I knew going into this one that the emotions would be intense! And to say that was an understatement would literally BE an understatement. I was already a huge fan of Cole's writing, but each new book he just solidifies it more. The connection he gives you to his characters is honestly nothing I have found before in any genre. And I feel I have read some pretty amazing books by some really intriguing authors. I fear I can't go on with how much I loved this book without giving too much away. So I will leave you with my 5🌟 review and will be patiently waiting for Sadist to hit my Kindle in January!💓
I thought I was prepared for Brandon’s story, oh boy was I wrong. Nothing could ever have prepared me for what I was reading and what Brandon had to go through at such a young age. It’s brutal, dark, twisted and so Heartbreaking, It left me speechless I went through every emotion there is, mostly anger for how they treated human beings. This story consumed me from the first page to the last, I read this book in one setting, I needed to know what came next for Brandon. Cole Denton is a very talented and exceptional writer, it shows in every book he writes. Slave has definitely become one of my favourite books to read. It’s a must read.
Dark and disturbing. Slave introduces us to the backstory of Brandon. Who is a supporting character in the previous books. We learn more about his his life pre Oxygen club. It’s extremely heartbreaking and at times hard to read. Brandon goes through a horrible life as a teenager. And during his time at the kink house. This story reminded me a lot of Cole Dentons series with Ryan which I absolutely loved. There’s also a lot of similarities between Ryan/Russell and Brandon/James. Both couples mirror each other. The story flows very nicely and it’s the best IMO out of the series. Anxiously awaiting the next installment!
My heart was just breaking for Brandon...all he wanted was love but he got betrayal and slavery. This book was a little brutal but I have to say it brings to light so tough truths and reality. Brandon didn’t break and James is so my hero. I am rooting for him and can’t wait to see how it all works out. It is interesting to see the healing process...it is real and it is not pretty. But it will be worth it. I live that this author is not afraid to delve into the story and characters even if it is ugly, that is what makes it beautiful. Definitely has triggers if you have any but I am loving this series.
Cole writes with sensitivity and rawness that grips your emotions and shreds your heart. Brandon’s story is dark, turbulent and horrific. His young home life is starved of affection and attention and then when he finally feels that he’s starting to gain some control, it spirals into the deepest corners of hell, leaving him stripped emotionally bare. The character attachment is so strong, and the visuals conjured up by the beautiful descriptive writing, places you right into the heart of the story. James is Brandon’s saviour and Brandon’s delicate soul craves this older man’s calm and loyal support as he starts his journey to overcoming and living with the traumas of his past. The underlying feeling of hope and love was endearing and just felt so right. Grab your tissues and meet your next five star read.
Cole never ceases to amaze me with how much emotion he can pull out of a person when you read his stories. This one is Brandon’s and it absolutely tore me apart and slowly put the pieces back together. Cole is a wordsmith like no other. Just absolutely brilliantly written. It will steal your breath and packs a punch unlike any other story you’ll read. There isn’t enough time in the world to explain why you should start this series and dive into Club Oxygen, once you do you’ll feel like you’re fully immersed into the world he has created.
Cole Denton has done another fabulous job in this series. Brandon has a special place in my heart and Cole couldn't have found a better model and cover for him. Once you start reading Brandon's story, you will find that the model becomes him and you picture him during his several horrible years with THEM!! Cole Denton really knows how to pull the emotions from you. I cried while reading Brandon's story. I don't think I will want this series to end!! I don't like to give away any of the story, but this series is an absolute MUST READ!!! Thank you Cole.
This book ripped my heart out and stomped all over it.
Brandon is an adolescent when we first meet him and he trusts the wrong person. While you can see what’s coming from a mile away, you are praying that you’re wrong.
The horrors that Brandon endures are not for the weak or faint of heart. Tears were shed and I wished to crawl into the pages of the book and save him.
Luckily he is saved and he starts the long road to recovery with James, an older Doctor, who takes Brandon under his protection.
Absolutely dark and amazing. Cole Denton takes these characters and their dark world in a direction that will pull you in and make you not only feel as if you're there, but a need to stay. Dark, intense, heroic, deeply emotional and the list goes on. You will fall totally all In with each character wanting to cheer them on, and you'll also grab a tissue and hurt for them. This series is intense, emotional and absolutely amazing!!!!
I do detest cliffhangers but I must admit Cole Denton doesn't disappoint each book is better than the last one. I love how he incorporated beloved characters from his trial by fire series with the club oxygen series its always nice to visit loved characters. Denton has a way of making a reader feeling like they are watching it as a movie rather than reading a book always has a way of capturing his readers. Must read series!
Brandon’s story is heartbreaking. The one person he wanted him to love, he thought hated him and didn’t want him around. The one person that came in his life & he trusted, betrayed him. Brandon suffered so much darkness & torture for many years. Once he was found, it was hard for him to begin trusting and to find out who and what he really needed to be happy. James will help with that.
Cole did it again with Brandon’s story. Can’t wait to get the next one in the series. Way to go Cole!
I was thrilled to read Brandon’s backstory and how he met James. Of course, Cole Denton had to wring emotion from my gut for this Pup. Just when I thought I might break from the hideous abuse Brandon suffers, he’s free! James must find the pleasure/pain balance his Pup so desperately needs. I can’t wait for the conclusion in book 5, Sadist. This was another fantastic read! Thanks Cole!
