Civilization has finally reached the breaking point. An unknown enemy has detonated an EMP, crippling the country, leaving millions without food, water, and medical supplies.

Thirty-six hours have passed since the EMP was detonated, and in that short amount of time, the nation has been transformed—the survivors of the initial attack scramble for food, water, and medical supplies. Ben Riker, a prepper and Lieutenant with the Asheville fire department, has managed to secure a new home to rebuild what his family had lost. But before they can start a new life, Ben must retrieve his daughter before the enemy finds her.

Not half bad!!;)

I could see where it would be problematic for a book in a series to hold the number two spot. Specially when book number one in the series was fantastic. This second book of the series wasn’t even almost half bad. It followed up nicely to book one, picking right up where it left off. The pace of the story slowed slightly but overall Hunt maintained the level of intrigue while seamlessly integrating new characters into the plot. I’m still impressed with the “just regular folks” approach to the story. It’s a refreshing change fore someone who reads so much of this genre. I highly recommend this series! You can’t go wrong sitting down with these books for a weekend reading binge!

A beautiful city burned to the ground but from the ashes comes hope

After an EMP takes out the power grid an explosion burns through Asheville, NC. Those who were able to leave the city before the fire cuts off their path must pull together to stay ahead of the fire and the enemies. Some who were foes before will have to work together to defeat an enemy not associated with the terrorist who took out the power grid. An excited read that has you wanting more at the end.

EMP Days of Terror is book two in the EMP Post Apocalyptic Survival series and this book, just like book one, takes the reader from one intense situation to another. It's been thirty-six hours since the EMP detonated and so much has changed since the start. The writing is good, the story pulled me in and with every twist and turn had me wondering what would happen next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Interesting

I read both books and found the story plausible and captivating. The only inconsistency I noted was concerning the character Nancy. In book one she was a young, inexperienced girl, in love with Gray, wanting to give her virginity up to him. Then in book two she was knowledgeable in the ways of sex and used that knowledge to get men to bend to her will. Other than that it was a good read.

On the edge of your seat

It's an eye opener to think that this is how crazed people could get under these conditions. Its also an eye opener to see the love and strength of family whether its blood family or the family that evolves during disaster. Great job. Hoping for a third book. Thank you.

This is the 2nd book in the EMP Post Apocalyptic Survival series. James Hunt is one of my favorite authors and as usual did not disappoint with this book. The story was well written with plenty of action. I would definitely recommend reading.

Should have been 1 book rather than 3

I’m enjoying the books but please don’t write a book that REQUIRES the reader to purchase all 3 in order to complete the story. None of these books can stand alone, they are like chapters in a single story. Each book should have a resolution on its own, possibly with a larger “big picture” finale in the final book.

TWO FOR TWO!

I sincerely thought that the second in a series of three would lack after enjoying the first book. Glad I was wrong! It kept me reading till the end. It's amazing how the author has portrayed a fictional synapses and adjusted to to a quite possible future reality. Loved it. Gritty, gutsy, and downright scary, it makes a person saying to self...what if...

Well Named

I’ve read the first 2 and looking forward to more. The stories are well written, keeping interest. However, too is/are just too much story. This condensed the time to an unrealistic degree. People need to breathe and eat and sleep. They need to internally process their surroundings. It felt like video game. Still. It dot my interest and now I must know what happens.

Entertaining

Well written storyline with really colorful characters with varied backgrounds. The power grid is down, cars are dead and all electronics are fried. But Ben has to travel to bring their daughter home. Exciting and interesting plot with action scenes.

Great way to spend some time reading.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat not knowing if my favorite character would die or not. But she didn't, so the book had a happy end for me.

Very good series

Please let there be a book three, and four, etc. I really enjoyed these two books, the author came up with several things I hadn't thought of and hadn't read in other EMP books. Will definitely read any other books by this author.

Survival for those that hadn’t left the city when an EMP took out a grid and left the town to burn. Good post apocalyptic thriller that does not disappoint readers. Enjoyed the narration. Given audio for my voluntary review

Too much

Too much gore for my personal tastes. This kind of book isn’t for me. I don’t want my mind filled with thsesithoughts. Writing is good. Characters good, but it wasn’t a good story at all

This begins right where book 1 left off seamlessly. A lot of twist & turns, questions answered, more questions brought up, a book you won’t be able to put down! Book 3 here I come 🙂

Great Story!

I really like James Hunts stories. My only issue is that there are usually misspelled words and other grammatical errors that detract form the books, but I still love them.

Unite against a common foe works

personal conflicts taking a back seat is the uniting thread here. We get to see more of the regional problems. what are the invaders up to? The firemen will have to get organized if they want a future for the families.

My kind of book!

This is the kind of book that has caused me to become a reader.
The story line is very easy to follow, but has surprising twists.
The characters are realistic.
The settings are very well described for each area.
Overall it's a great series.
