A Secret Service agent must stop terrorists targeting America’s most valuable—and vulnerable—natural resource…“A great thrill ride.”—Dwight Jon Zimmerman, New York Times-bestselling coauthor of Lincoln’s Last Days The nation’s water resources are high on the terrorist target list—but low in America’s consciousness. Water sources are largely unprotected, providing open access to any enemy with chemicals and biotoxins. So far we’ve been lucky. But now that luck may be running out… This is the all-too-real-and-present danger facing President Morgan Taylor and Secret Service Agent Scott Roarke as they try to prevent terrorists from destroying America and its infrastructure city by city, state by state. Fact-based in frightening detail, Executive Command is a political thriller that will leave you wondering the next time you pour a glass of water.   “Moving at break-neck speed and nothing short of sensational. Grossman is a master storyteller who sets you up and delivers. Executive Command is not just a great book, it’s a riveting experience!”—W.G. This terrifying novel kept me glued to my kindle. The pacing was generally very good except in a couple of places that I felt bogged down a little bit with too much detail. The scale is so all-encompassing that at times I felt overwhelmed. A terrorist attack of horrific proportions challenges America’s population and, most especially, her leadership. The scenario is complicated as various groups jockey for power and/or attempt to keep a lid on mass panic and lawlessness. I read for entertainment, but this story will inevitably cause the reader to think about how fragile our individual safety and well-being could be in the right (or should I say wrong) circumstances.

I enjoy these types of stories in and particularly liked the way in which this one was told. I like strong leadership in times of crisis and the protagonists in this tale did not disappoint. This is apparently the third in a series of political thrillers by this author; however, I had absolutely no difficulty reading this book as a stand-alone novel. Having said that, though, I thought the characters were believable and true-to-life and I certainly will be looking for other books by Gary Grossman.

This book was provided to me by the author in return for my honest review.

In the 3rd book of the series, Taylor is now President, Katie is now working in D.C. and Roarke is still looking for Cooper. This story begins with the death of a suspicious person who arrived at an airport in Houston. Upon further checking they discovered that he was on a Look out list. This is later followed by other individuals who are similar that have entered the country. This people have received from MS-13. MS-13 was just working for someone else and did not not what these people were here for. As the story continues, it is learned that several individuals are tampering with the water and as a result a large number of people are being impacted. It takes a while for this terrorist attack to get out because they are starting at sites where a small number of individuals are impacted. Once it gets out, then everything explodes since the people feel that nothing is being done.

Discover how information is developed that provides a location where the person in charge is located and what steps are taken in order to make sure that this type of events don't happen again.

There is one more book in the series and I can't wait to read it.

Solid storyline. Just finished this third book in a four book series. The author definitely left us hanging again. Even though written a few years back, the content is still very current with our world situation as it is and also scary at how true it could be. It would be very easy for terrorist to attack our water supply, one of our most precious resources. Scott Rourke is a great protagonist. Looking forward to finishing a series with the fourth one.

Gary Grossman does it again with the third installment of his Executive series. Scott Roarke is back to help President Taylor avert the collapse of America from threats both foreign and domestic. Scott’s love interest has moved to Washington after proving herself in book 1 and book 2, now she works as one of the White House’s lawyers and is once again called to help the Attorney General avert a constitutional crisis.

Terrorism is top of mind for the President, the White House and all the intelligence communities. Expertly weaving different characters circling the globe to the page, Mr. Grossman keeps the storyline moving and tension building.

A nail biting read that weaves what if with conspiracy theories and real life events to bring to life a horrifying future.

RECOMMEND?
For anyone who sometimes thinks “What if” and isn’t scared to follow obscure conspiracy threads to the heart pounding action.

Gary Grossman in his new book, “Executive Command” Book Three in the Executive series published by Diversion Books gives us another adventure with Scott Roarke.

From the back cover: The clock is ticking down to an attack on America’s most vulnerable natural resource: Water. Our nation’s water resources are high on terrorist target lists, but low on America’s consciousness. Water sources are largely unprotected, providing open access to any enemy with chemicals and biotoxins.

So far we’ve been lucky. But that luck won’t last.

This is the all-too-real-and-present danger facing President Morgan Taylor and Secret Service Agent Scott Roarke as they desperately try to prevent hell-bent terrorists from destroying America and its infrastructure city by city, and state by state.

Fact-based in frightening detail, Executive Command is a political thriller that will leave you pondering its strong possibility the next time you pour a glass of water.

“Executive Command” is more than just a good read this is a terrifying look at the situation the world is in today. In the Fifties and Sixties we had The Cold War where we lived under the threat of nuclear destruction. Now we have terrorists who are out for for mass destruction and death. Their threat is real and this time their target is our water supply. Gary Grossman has given us a page turning thriller that will keep us glued to our chairs. Scott Roarke has his hands full as he is racing about trying to stop this devastating attack while staying alive at the same time. Thank you Gary Grossman for giving us a thriller that not only is super exciting but oh so real and contemporary. I am glad I found this talented author and am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

As a political thriller, it was adequate. Nothing really new, but then, there are only so many plot lines available.

Suffers from a lack of character development, which makes it difficult to gather any sympathies that would keep one engrossed.

What it is masterful at, is as statist propaganda. Planting seeds in the mind of the reader for an all-powerful Oz.

Given the author's background, no real surprise.

This is the third in the series. Given the shortages cited above, that have not been resolved on the third try, I'll pass on the others.

Of the three trilogy, this thriller shows the development of the author. The pacing was better and the plot more plausible. The characters were interesting though not particularly well developed - maybe two dimensional. The plot dealt a plague development from terrorist contaminating the water. We often forget just how much we rely on water and the failure to protect our supplies could be very dangerous. Then the plots leftover from prior books dealing with a terrorist and the associated assassin - rather two dimensional characters.

OK this is the last book I think and again i find that it seems so ridiculously easy for our enemy's to infiltrate governments and attack us and I also wonder have we ever had a President that would act as fast and as ruthlessly as this one. I sure hope so this whole series will give you a lot to think about at night.

Weakest entry in the series so far. The crisis seems a bit too far fetched. President Taylor is the real hero while Scott Roarke kind of morphs into a bit of a whiny kid. There is resolution wrt one big baddie but the scene with the other baddie again seems repetitive.

No stars! Not nearly half as good as the first two books in this series. It's like the author decided to get crude instead of dealing with what could have been a great premise.
