She treasures her freedom, but when a fae king desires her, will she see the light?

Tabitha spends her days restoring and caring for old things at the local museum. But none are as old, or as intriguing, as the immortal light king who appears on the edge of the Rosethorn Valley forest and turns her measured existence into a madcap adventure. From the village Historical Society to a hippie retreat in the Pocono mountains, Tabitha will go anywhere to track down the magical artifact that will stop evil fae from destroying her beloved town. But no matter where she goes, she can’t seem to escape her growing longing for the heartless King of Light.

Tristan has been frozen in time for hundreds of years when he awakens to find that the brother he betrayed has fallen in love with a mortal woman. Tristan is determined not to make the same mistake - even though Tabitha is brave and interesting, and her every smile convinces him she is meant to be his. The King of Light could never take a mortal queen. Especially not one so fiercely independent.

When an escaped monster straight out of a fairy tale forces the two to head off on a road trip to track down a source of magic together, the depth of their attraction becomes impossible to ignore. Will Tabitha willingly renounce her single lifestyle and make room for real magic in her life? Or is Tristan destined to be a conduit of happiness forever, and never its recipient?

If you like strong women, hunky fae kings, wild adventures, steamy sensual scenes, and happily-ever-afters, then you’ll love the world of Rosethorn Valley Fae!

This book picks up where the other left off and doesn't disappoint. Strong female, another fae king and a romance that builds throughout the story. In this story they're working to capture the banshee and of course save the mansion. With some surprises the author tell another story you just love! Can't wait for more!

I'm already hooked! Tristan, The King of Light, knows he should be grateful to his brother for setting him free, but it was because of him that they had been imprisoned. Now he is seeing his brother, Dorian, The King of Darkness choosing a mortal, Sara for his Queen. Will he never learn? As Tristan meets them at the mansion that used to be Dorian's castle he sees another mortal woman with them. When their eyes meet for a moment they both sense something. He can't believe it, he feels a pull toward her, but it isn't right. She is a mortal. When Dorian Gets everyone introduced they already sense the difference around them, the storms have disappeared & the sunshine has brightened. It is on of the reasons Dorian woke him, his darkness was effecting the Rosethorn valley & he needed Tristan's lightness to balance it. They go into the mansion to try to take the empty mirror frame off the wall. Sara thought they might be able to reassemble the mirror somewhere else. It won't come off. Dorian tells her it is bound to the stones in the house. The mirror that was shattered is the portal to the fae world. They decide to take the two pieces they had already taped into the frame with them as they leave until they can figure this out. They have to do it fast, the developer they are trying to save the mansion from already had workers here this morning looking the place over getting ready to tear it down. Sara heads to her office to find out why the place is being locked down & why the rush. Tabitha is to take Tristan to the mall & get him some clothes to blend in. Tristan is fighting with his inner thoughts as they walk around the mall. When he tries to get a drink of water from a decretive fountain, she gets him a soda. He would like the recipe for his cook. On the way home she stops at a cafe to get them some lunch. Sara & Dorian meet up with to join them. Sara tells her that the developer had heard of their campaign to try to make the mansion a historical treasure. He said the lock down was to prevent vandalism but she thinks it is to prevent anyone to come in & see the historical value of the house. Tabitha is wondering how they are going to do this. Sara tells her she has a video tour of the house she had made for clients that shows all of what they need to explain. Tristan is finally getting the idea about what is going on. They decide to go back to Helen, the woman who had given them a little advice before hoping she will have more news from her side. Tristan is still angry at himself being unable to stop thinking of Tabitha. He cannot have a mortal for his queen. When they get to her house they give her the news about the house being closed off. Sara informs her of the footage she has of the house. Helen tells them they need to get as many people together on this as fast as they can. She tells them they need thrown a big party & show the footage then make their pitch to their crowd. While they are there Tabitha sees an old music box & asks about it. Helen tells her it has never played. She asks if she can look at it. It is a beautiful piece of work, as she is holding it she sees something in her mind. It is a child putting a piece of paper in a small crack. She asks for a paperclip, unbends it & delicately pulls a the small piece of paper out. She hands it back to Helen & has her push the button. It starts to play. Overjoyed, Helen tells them she will handle everything, the party & preparations. As they leave Tristan is beginning to see why he is so drawn to her. She has magic in her. It is decided Tristan will go to Tabitha's place since Sara only has a little couch that probably wouldn't be too comfortable for him to sleep on. As they travel to her place he tries to ask about her magic but she doesn't want to talk about it. When they arrive he sees the museum. He finds out she has rooms above it & a few in the back. What no one really knows is that she owns the building & is renting it very cheaply to the museum. Tabitha's family comes from money, she has never even told Sara. It seems to make life easier if you downplay that kind of thing instead of flaunt it. That's what her dad always told her, & it seems to be true. But with this problem they have now, maybe she should let Sara know, they do have a little support. She gives him the basic tour & shows him to his bedroom. He asks again about her magic. She tells him she always had a knack for old things. When things look like they might get interesting her cell phone chimes. Sara tells her the banshee has been spotted at the local grocery store. They get to the car & meet up with them. He sees the banshee's song causing so much pain in their heads, he pulls a mantle of light around them to shield them. Then he watches his brother call in the magic of midnight to trap her. Dorian asks Sara to sing & to his amazement he sees her song begin to start to trap the banshee. It lets out a wail that knocks her down, Tabitha dashes to her friend. The banshee escapes, singing another song but Sara is able to counter it's attack with a song of her own. Seeing how exhausted Sara is they see they will have to try some other time. They will not be able to do any more tonight. They all go home to sleep. On the way home Tabitha remembers something that might help them trap the banshee. She can't remember exactly what is, or where she read it, but there is something. When they get back to her place she starts looking all over. He is a little frustrated. She finally decides to look again tomorrow. He thinks more about what he has seen of Tabitha's strength & spirit, with her magic, she has what it takes to be a queen. He gets her to come look at the stars from his window. When he starts to kiss her, he is sure. A tattoo ring appears on their ring fingers. His queen. They will talk more tomorrow. When she wakes up in his his arms & thinks she is living in a fairy tale, she remembers what she was looking for. It's a book called legends of the Rosethorn Valley Fae. She goes & finds the book. Tristan comes in & she tells him it is a local legend. As they eat breakfast they read the story. It tells of the banshee singing a woman mad. She drown herself in the well behind her house. Her husband went crazy & to honor her, had her bones cafted into a violin & bow. He found the banshee in the forest. When she started to sing, he played the violin to send her back to the fae realm. Tabitha recognized the bow. Helen has it. She doesn't have the violin, she has been trying to buy it from a man for years. Tabitha asks for the address & they got to talk to him. When they get there, they discover they are at his funeral. After they leave they head to his place to see if they can find someone to find out where his things have been sent. His landlady sold everything to a pawnshop. Tabitha gives her a little money to help on his past rent & they go to the pawnshop. The owner brings it out to them, it is pretty damaged but he thinks with some work it would be worth a lot. She sees a watch & asks about it. He says it doesn't work, & names a low price. She asks what it would be worth if it ran, he names a higher price than the violin. She buys the watch, while they are standing there she senses what is wrong with the watch & fixes it. She asks the owner if he would like to trade for the violin, he takes it. They leave & head to the local inn. While she gets a feel for the violin she tries to repair it. The sorrow of the power she feels through it makes her worry she will lose herself. Tristan tries to offer his power to help her but she refuses. She wants to see what she can do on her own. She repairs it a little but not too much. He withdraws from her, if she won't accept her magic along with his then maybe she is not a person he can have as a queen. On the way home the next day she notices how he is no longer talking to her & doesn't seem to want to be near her anymore. When they reach town Tristan goes to meet up with Dorian. Tabitha meets with Sara at their favorite cafe. Sara informs her the assistant of the developer trying to demolish the mansion is meeting them here very soom. Her name is Miranda Cannon. She comes in & introduces herself to them. When she sits down she flat out tells them than her boss has decided he wants that area. He is powerful & he never gives up. They would be better off to quit now while they were still ahead. Tabitha put her hand on the arm to stop her. She tells her she has resources as well, & she doesn't give up very easily either. Miranda looks down at her hand & sees the tattoo ring Tristan gave her. She doesn't say anything more. She gets up to leave, & tells them again to quit while they can. She leaves. Sara's phone rings. They find out the banshee has been found again. They head in the area it was going & see it going to the elementary grade school, there is a talent show tonight. In the hall down from a janitor the banshee starts her deadly song. Sara starts a song of her own to counter her attack. Tabitha pulls out the violin & lets her mind follow its pattern back to where it got damaged, she repairs it the way she can. She cannot let the banshee harm anyone, so she drifts further back to where it was first created. The ghost of the husband who created the violin understands her & puts his violin with hers to remold the one she is holding. She sees him walk off to the ghost of his wife to hopefully be at peace. Tabitha is back in the here & now with a violin that seems perfectly real. With the mirror shard, Sara's singing, Dorian's call of midnight magic & Tabitha playing the violin with Tristan to give her power, sends the banshee back to the fae realm. They go home. Tristan tells her he is sorry to have doubter her because she was mortal & wants to make their union solid. Later Sara & Tabitha are watching the party unwind at Helens house. After the meal is done, Helen calls to the dancing to stop so they can watch the footage of the mansion & hear what the women have to say about turning the mansion into a historical monument. After it has been shown &they have explained all they can people are sounding very supportive. Then walking down the front the woman, Miranda Cannon, they had just spoken to a day or two ago. She works for the developer. She says the mansion will be replaced by pharmacy lab building that will give jobs & many other useful things. They notice while she is talking to their crowd how she got them turned aroung so fat. They discover her ability to mesmerize people & control their thoughts. She apologizes to the ladies as she leaves. The next day the 4 of them are sitting in the cafe talking about what they are going to have to do. Both Kings look at each other & decide to tell them what they think is the truth. Tristan tells them if they want to win, they are going to have to wake their brother, Bron, King of the Wilds. It is wild! I'm already diving into the next one.

💢 Omg I’m becoming a Fae lover, this book is Magnificent. There is no way anyone who read book #1, would not want to read book #2. Wowzer these two brothers are amazing. A little birdie told me there will be more fae brothers coming.
🔹️ Tabitha Barnes is a historian at a museum in a small town of Rosethorn Valley. She’s lived there her whole life, with her partner in crime Sarah Mason, who just happens to be Dorian’s Queen of Darkness.
🔹King of Light, Tristan Dorian who woke up from his rest to come help Dorian.
Where Dorian made people sad with darkness, Tristan made people happy for his light, he was King of Light. One look at Tabitha, Tristan knew he was in trouble. But he couldn't, He wouldn't, be with mortal. He thought Dorian was crazy. To be with the mortal, there is no way Tristan would ever be with a mortal. Then he met Tabitha.
☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

The King of Light is a splendid book. Tristan is his brother's opposite in more ways than one. The differences are often subtle, so you have to pay attention. Despite this intriguing story within the story going on, I found the book to have many laugh-out-loud moments. Ms. Black's artful way with words makes this book fun as well as thought provoking. I have a feeling we'll see much more of Tristan in later books. Tabitha is a strong character and a joy to read, but Tristan really stole the show for me. Think Shrek, as in onion, lol. As usual, all of the characters in this book are extremely well written. You can practically see, and hear, Helen, who is helping Sara and Tabitha try to save the old mansion. You'll just fall in love with the elementary school janitor, even though he only shows up on a few pages. And don't miss a word about Miranda. That's all I'm saying. I haven't forgotten about the romance - that's a given. There's plenty of adventure too. Next up is King of the Wilds. I can't wait to see what Sara, Dorian, Tabitha and Tristan get up to - and what new, exciting characters I'll meet.

A cliffhanger is not always a vile thing... especially when the author draws you into her world so compellingly. Tasha Black has created such a small town as we all wish we grew up in. Rosethorn Valley is historically preserved, beautiful, and always a pleasuree to be a part of.

I did not review the first book which gives the reader the foundation needed for The King of Light. I do think it is a good idea to read King of Midnight for that beginning; and to understand the growing friendship of the kings and their mortal queens.

Underneath the compelling and gently sweet romances there lies a greater evil that is coming to confront the royalty fae of Rosethorn Valley. That threat is determined to destroy the mansion that brought Dorian and Sara together, and then Tabitha and Tristan.

This series is just the thing as Winter approaches. This is a great series for those not familiar with Tasha Black (come join us; we have pumpkin spiced lattes) and for those that do know this lovely author, this is a wonderful journey!

Tristan and Tabitha

Book two in the series has Sarah and Dorian from book one needing help to "put the monsters back". Right, there is some dangerous magic in the old mansion they have decided to keep as a historical landmark and keep the monsters where they should remain. Calling in the King of Light, his brother, they hope to keep things under control.

Tristan may be willing to help but he's not hooking up with a mortal woman--no matter how much he's drawn to her. He works with the three to put back what has escaped and try to hold things together. However, they have more going against them than they thought. Will they be able to keep control? How much danger are they in? Especially the mortals? And will Tristan really be able to resist the woman who has so much pull on him?

Seems like there is plenty of trouble brewing. Will they need more help? Any more magic brothers out there?

Once again I was blown away from the start with this latest page-turner! Ms. Black sure knows how to weave a magical tapestry in this new fantasy world of the ‘Rosethorn Valley Fae’! ... “King of Light” is the 2nd must read with another fresh new plot, and entertaining witty banter between characters like the H/h, Tristan & Tabitha. I was glued to my seat as they shared their adventure with some suspense and their growing steamy romance!
... Even tho I always volunteer to read this author’s books prior to releasing (coz I can’t wait to get my hands on them ;) lol) it is without any outside influences & I’ve already preordered this kindle book. So yes, I can honestly recommend this to 18+ adult fans of fiction & can’t wait for more :D

Marvelous

I am absolutely enjoying this series the story but a smile on my face as I am reading book 2. It's full of drama with characters that are charming and funny. This is definitely amazing and unforgettable with magic that makes it such a beautiful and emotional written story. I really enjoy that it include fairytales that are brought to life. There is just the right amount of passion and mystery to keep you turning page after page with excitement that you can't help but enjoy. It makes you laugh and feel your life is great by reading this story. If you need to relieve the stress of life then this is a enjoyable way to relieve it. I wish for you to enjoy the characters as much as I did, and I'm excited to read the next book in this series.

Tristan The King of Light has appeared and Tabitha is feeling things she hasn't before. All he has to do is look at her and her knees go weak. Tabitha is mortal and Tristan if Fae, his brother may have mated a mortal but Tristan will not a mortal life span is so small it is over in the wink of an eye. He can't give his heart to mortal. Tristan and Tabitha go a trip to find a violin that has the power to stop an banshee and there is one loose in her small town and Tabitha will not stand by while people get hurt. Tabitha has a little magic of her own and with Tristan's help they hope to be able to save her town. I love this book, the story is original and the characters area amazing. This is a must read.

Another captivating fantasy romance. Tristan and his superiority attitude was hilarious. I love that although Tabitha could have that same attitude, she instead is humble. Opposites attract?? There's a lot more than that going on. His presence adds the element of light to the darkness his brother added and this couple soon discover how they complement one another. Enjoyed this new element and looking forward to the next adventure, righting wrongs and additional revelation of the mystery of the mirror.

I received a free advanced copy from author without obligation and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This is the second ARC book in the series Rosethorn Valley Fae, by Tasha Black.  In this book you will read, where the first book left off, with Tabitha, a friend of Sara, who  also volunteer at the museum, Sara and the King of Darkness, watching the beautiful rainbow over Welsh Castle.  This is the arrival of King of Light, Tristan, brother of Dorian, who is the King of Darkness and together with the help of Sara, and Tabitha, the four work to send  the monsters back to their realm and try to save the mansion of being destroyed.  But first Tristan needs new clothes.
I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.

King of Light. Book 2 of the Rosethorn Valley Fae. It picks up from Book 1 (King of Midnight, another excellent book and a must read). Monsters are loose and brother Tristan, King of Light, is released from his confinement. Magic and spells, chemistry and more. So much more. The tale is well written and kept a smile on my face even as I kept reading to see what will happen next. Rosethorn Valley, adjacent to Tarker's Hollow, with magic and more. Romance and intrigue. Many threads are including in the tale, leading me to eagerly reach for Book 3. More please!!

I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What? You expected a guy named “King of Light” to start out as a nice guy? Pfft. He’s a Fae King. Obviously he’s not going to do what’s expected. That’d be boring.

Ok, so I really, really liked this one. This type of enemies-to-lovers story (where the enemies part doesn’t last very long and it’s mostly about a prolonged misunderstanding) is my favorite. Romance was really great and believable, and I am soo invested in the overall story. The next heroine is an antagonist here, and she was is FANTASTIC as a temporary bad guy. There’s an air of mystery to her and I’m dying to know what her deal is!!!

King Of Light #2 07/12/2024

Tabatha is helping her friend Sara to try to put monsters back in a very old mirror. This mirror was the prison for Sara’s boyfriend Dorian he’s the King Of midnight. When Sara broke the mirror to get him out some of the monster escaped now they need to put them back before they hurt someone. But they need more help so Dorian goes and awakens his brother the King Of Light. But Sara and Tabatha are finding their own powers and how to use them. Sara can sing the monsters back into the mirror and Tabatha can fix things that are old and broken. So enjoy another good read and see how these four work together to repair the mirror!!

Very addictive. Tristan for being the King of Light is kind of depressed. There is more to Tabitha than first appears. Together, they take on challenges that would have lesser beings shaking in their boots. Their story is a roller coaster ride of emotions. At first, it’s a love/ hate relationship that develops into something different. Surprises abound where you least expect them.

A great continuation of this series. Action, adventure and steaminess awaits. The air sizzles between Tristan and Tabitha from the moment they meet. However, Tristan has never seen himself falling for a mortal and Tabitha has always liked her single life. While hunting down creatures of fae myths these two must bridge what separates them and find their forever happiness.

Great characterisation

Reading this story, it was so easy to see the King of Light. To see him reach out with all the golden glow. Sigh. The twosome from book 1 is now a threesome and gaining in power and love. Serious fantasy that is so easy to read, K of L is sensuous and warming to the soul.

Another fun, quick read. Tasha's stories always feel too short to me, but they're enjoyable and sexy. This book was a very natural progression from the first, mostly as expected. I personally really enjoyed Tristan's responses to all the drinks and food, I found them highly entertaining. :)

This review is for books 1-3. After reading three books I am quite sure I am missing like a prequel or something. The first book just kind of throws you in. I did enjoy the story and how the romances grew. It was an enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed getting to know Dorian, Sara, Tristan, and Tabitha! The author did a superb job at weaving the stories of the King of Midnight and the King of Light into one phenomenal story. I cannot wait to see how this group of friends work together to save the human realm.
