T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a eight-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.
T.M. enjoys writing what she calls ‘wrong side of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.
Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.
She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she's not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.
I'd read the special combo addition of King and Tyrant so this review will encompass both books. Brantley King is one heckuva anti-hero. A tattoo artist who's lived a rather sh*t childhood, he befriends a kid on the playground in school while saving him from the local bully. They vow to succeed in life despite their struggles growing up. I use the word succeed loosely. Fast forward 10+ years...
"Doe" wakes up on the streets with zero memory- just sitting with a drug addicted prostitute fighting her for the bench she was sleeping on. Amnesia, starving and unwilling to go to another crazy town homeless shelter, the fast-friends decide getting "in" with the MC club the Beach Bastards will provide them protection...food. So they hit up,a house party on the beach hosted by the biker group. Doe is shy, out of sorts, not knowing who she is or where she came from but knowing she needs food, clothing. She goes in search of a man that can provide that. She just doesn't imagine her response to the tattoo artist when she steps into his studio while he f*cks another chick..
I liked the connection between King and Doe. Though a bit instantaneous considering they didn't know each other prior, the gritty rawness of his possession of her helped lesson my worries of instant-love. I guess it's rogue darkish insta-love here so it was easier to digest for me.
King and Tyrant are both fairly dark, gritty romantic-suspense stories that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Both books were addictive and must be read in order as King ends in a cliffy. Some scenes are rather graphic and I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who doesn't enjoy the grit of at least an MC-type book. King isn't a MC fella but the book has the elements and background of biker outlaws.
Side characters such as Preppy with his cute bow-ties and non-filtered dirty-talking contrast captured my heart completely. Bear, the tattooed MC VP is up next with his spin-off duet. Looking forward to his story.
Again, I'd highly recommend this series for fans of dark, gritty romance. This, isn't a heart and flowers walk-off-in-the-sunset love story yet you're left with this warmth in your heart HEA in the end. So that, to me, makes the bumpy ride worth it tenfold.
4.5 This is not a rainbows and unicorns romance, but it is a beautiful romance. Some parts were a little hard to read, had my heart beating triple time, but the last chapter of Tyrant before the epilogue, OMG perfect!
King was a fantastic read! I loved every moment of it; the intense relationship, the heartbreaking situations, and the pure devotion the characters had for one another. I laughed at the banter and shed a few tears through the tough times because T.M. Frazier sure knows how to weave a difficult storyline together! I am glad that I already had Tyrant to read after I finished, because that ending leaves you wanting more!
There were plenty of twists and people in Tyrant that kept King and Doe/Pup apart. Her father appears to be a heartless man, Tanner the boy next door has always been in her life, and Doe/Pup’s past is slowly returning to her. But her heart belongs to King and everything she did was for him.
I loved how this story wrapped up! There were so many intense moments, but I did miss all the time that King and Doe/Pup spent together, like it the previous book. One thing remained strong and that was the love that King and Doe/Pup have for one another. It was a fantastic conclusion and I love how T.M. Frazier was able to get me emotionally attached to all the characters. I am looking forward to Bear’s story, it’s going to be hard, I know it!!
What a ride, I absolutely loved both of these books. So much happens that my head is still spinning. There were so many lies, deceptions, betrayals and heartbreak in this book that it was impossible for me to put it down. I loved King, Doe, Bear and Preppy. The boys were killers, they sold and did drugs and I didn't care they were unapologetic and loyal. Call me crazy but I totally fell for them and saw past all of it. These books were far from perfect and there were things I would have liked done differently but I don't care its was 5 stars for me anyway. I can't wait for Bears book.
El desenlace de toda la historia me dejó con más preguntas que respuestas. No hay una resolución clara de los conflictos, dejando una sensación de vacío y decepción. Además, la calidad de la escritura deja mucho que desear.
The King duet by T.M. Frazier was a dark romance I’ve been curious about for a long time. Although both King and Tyrant were addictive reads, they weren’t quite for me. There was a bit too much drama for me, with the duet containing plot devices that I’m not crazy about, which meant I wasn’t sucked into this one the way many people were.
Despite being a duet, it is part of a larger series and it will leave people curious about what happens with the other characters. Whether I’ll read more remains to be seen, but it is clear to me why so many adore this – even if I do not fall into the category of people hooked on the story.
I can't find words to explain how incredibly emotional, dark, gritty and amazing these two books are. Brantley King is a force to be reckoned with. He had me hooked from the first page right up until the last page of Tyrant.
TM Frazier has a way of dragging you into the world she creates in her stories and has you reeling even after you've read the last page. I couldn't not have a book hangover after meeting King and Doe.
His character is dark and dangerous, and when he lays eyes on the sweet and innocent Doe, little does she know her world is about to change. Their relationship is volatile, but the heat and chemistry between the characters jumps of the page and you feel like every time he calls her Pup, he's saying it to you. (A girl can dream.)
But this story is not only King and Doe, it involves their friends, Preppy, and Bear, and as you learn more about this intense circle of friends, you can't help but wish they were yours too. There are so many surprises, and at the end of book one, King, the cliffhanger will have you reeling and opening book two, Tyrant, immediately.
There's so much that tries to pull them apart and you're constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you like dark, sexy, and incredibly emotionally charged stories then this one is for you.
Oh holy smokes this King is HOTNESS OVERLOAD!! King is all alpha male, hot, brooding, tough as nails, take no crap kind of guy and its totally an ovary explosion when he speaks!!
"Things don't always start out the way we want them to. It's how they end that's important."
I adore this book so far ... I just finished King and the twists and turns have me biting my nails and clutching my kindle. I fell in love with Preppy in the first chapter and my heart broke when he died, that foul mouth bow tie wearing guy was totally lovable. Doe is awesome and stronger, she loves King with a fierceness that I think is going to be even more evident in Tyrant. King while I love him I'm not to happy with him right now ... I can't believe he gave her up. I know he wants his daughter back but I feel like there had to be another way.
This book had me on the edge of my seat ... now back to it with the second half!
After reading King and Tyrant, I feel like I just watched an action packed movie—explosives, gunfights, blood bath, crazy hot sex and all!!! Doe and King’s love story had it all. The book gave us a great introduction to who Brentley King was and how his ugly childhood shaped him to become THE King. I really liked that the author started off the book this way because it held my interest from the get go and by adding on a sidekick like Preppy and Bear, she really gave us a great trio of characters to start off what would be one of the most interesting, yet bizarre stories I’ve read all year.
King was definitely one enigmatic man. Though in the years that he’d become this monster who had absolutely no regard or guilt over taking someone’s life, his own world is suddenly turned upside down when he becomes wildly obsessed with Doe from the very moment he lays his eyes on her. An instant connection, a love at first sight if you will. And though their love story is weirdly unconventional to say the least, I really did enjoy the ride. The fighting back and forth, the yelling and kicking which would then turn into passionate, rough sex—well, that had my lady bits buzzing. Thank you very much! And while Doe begins to fall in love with King, the loss of her own memory is still a huge weight on her shoulders. Not knowing where she came from and who she is, I felt bad for her especially when she starts feeling guilty about the choices she’s been making. Their story was full of secrets and violence and it kept me on my toes. I wanted to find out who Doe really was and I wanted to see how King’s and Doe’s relationship would unfold as well.
King and Tyrant were action packed with tons of twists and turns that will both shock you and make your stomach uneasy. I mean, some of the scenes in this book were out of control and definitely not one for the faint of heart. Though the dialogue was a bit rough for me, this book did take me on quite a ride. There were a whole lot of romance alongside hints of heartwarming and comedic elements in a world full of drugs, murder, and deceit. Like I said in the beginning, these books were so bizarre, I still don’t really know how I felt about these books. Either way, I was entirely entertained the whole way through and I’m sure you will be too.
I can't even describe what I'm feeling about these two books!! I could not put it down! King, Pup, Preppy, and Bear we're my world for the last couple of days! Everyone's character was so well written that you connected with them instantly! She even made you fall in love with a psycho for crying out loud!! I will never be the same after these books and damn sure won't ever be able to look at another stack of pancakes! Let alone eat one!
I don't know where to begin...this was one of the best books I think I have read in a long time...I fell in love with King and Preppy and Bear..lol..the story line keeps u hooked...there isn't a dull moment at all...I read both books in two days..lol..and now can't wait for Bear...I am so glad I one clicked this author...she was new to me but now I have to read everything by her..lol..awesome read..a must one clicker
Wow Wow wow!!!! What an fabulous read this box set is. Everybody should have some King In their lives. This book is definitely not for the faint hearted but believe when I say you won't be disappointed.
This was absolutely an amazing read and one that will be an all time favorite. The story sucks you in and you have no choice so just go with it. I wish I could say more but a certain biker named Bear is waiting for me.
Fantastic!!!! Read both books bank to back and I haven't had such a brilliant read in a while. The ups and downs laughter and tears with twist and turns that are so unexpected. Highly recommend this set of books!
KING(KING #1) BY TM FRAZIER I was waiting to read these books until they were all released because I don't do well waiting for additional books in a series to release. Well they I heard that they were coming out with a box set so I decided to wait for that. Once the box set came out, I got swamped doing ARC's and have just now gotten around to starting the boxed set. OMG! I expected this book to be good because everyone I talked to were like, OMG, you have to read this series, but I honestly have to say that it has exceeded my expectations and then some! Not only does this have a killer story-line but it is unbelievably well-written! It flows beautifully and I was 100% invested from page one all the way through until the authors acknowledgements! Every thing about this story screams best-seller! The characters are also impeccably well developed. I was able to connect with not only the main characters but with the secondary characters as well. At times, this story had me laughing one minute and crying the next, only to be screaming mad the next minute! This story-line grabbed pretty much every emotion I have a tore it from me while I was reading it! But it still left me wanting more. It left me racing to start the next book in the series. So if book 2 is half as good as book 1, I will definitely dive head long into the next one! I almost want to slow things down because I have a feeling I am going to be very sad when I finish this series and I will be left with a huge book hangover. But for now, I have another book to read!
TYRANT(KING #2) BY TM FRAZIER HOLY SHNIKEY'S!! ALOT of sh!t went down in this book that I was not expecting at all! WOW! Not real sure what I should even write in this review other than if you love any or all of the following, bad a$$ Alpha Males, Bikers, Tattooed sexy studs, hot sex scenes, angst, suspense, psychopathic nutcases, fun-loving sexy men, fun-loving jokesters, passion, love...I could go on and on, but if you like anything mentioned, then you need to get reading this series! I really don't want to say alot about the book because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I did not read any reviews before I started reading this series. I did look and see how many reviews were written and I also looked at the average number of stars it was rated, but I rarely read the reviews because people tend to write way to many spoilers in them and nothing upsets me more than to come across something that pretty much ruins major parts of the book for me. That has happened to me in the past and then after reading the book I was let down and upset that I wasted valuable time reading a book that I already knew everything that was going to happen. Life is to short to waste time that you can never get back. But as far as this book/series, you will not be disappointed and you will be doing yourself a huge injustice if you DON'T read them! I am looking forward to books 3 and 4, Bear's story!
Everyone has their "guilty pleasure" and let me tell you...mine is dark romance. Dark, twisted, often taboo and terrifying; something about mixing that with romance is just exciting and entertaining. Weeeeell, let me tell you, if thatxs what you are looking for, TM Frazier offers it up on a silver platter in King & Tyrant.
King is a career criminal. He is tattoed and terrifying, hot, dangerous, possessive and protective. Doe is stuck with no where to go. Hungry, shy, beautiful and no clue who she is or how she got there.
This is a gritty, suspense filled story which spans 2 books. You can't read one without the other and they are addictive, so go for the joint book and save yourself some sanity - trust me. (King ends in a cliffy!)
The characters are raw, though engaging, and the story can be rather graphic at times, but holy hell, it's a good one.
This isn't a sweet and beautiful love story. It's a bloody, jacked up story of life and how the magnetic pull between two people can mean everything, even when the odds are stacked against them.
Overall I did like these books, the plots kept me interested throughout. There were loads of twists and turns, but I think the second book was much better. I really liked some of the characters despite them having questionable traits, although I don't think I fully warmed to King even though I rooted for him.
There were some things I didn't enjoy like we're how the books dealt with Rape and it happening to characters; it didn't seem necessary as it's seemed brushed over afterward like it didn't actually affect the character or where the it seems like it may be explored in later books, those characters already have more than enough past trauma to deal with. I also thought the "Tyrant" storyline was good, but would have preferred it if he was more of a manipulative baddie after the reveal rather than the one sided psycho scum bag he was portrayed as.
King & Tyrant (King, #1-2) was a great read by T.M. Frazier. King (King #1) was a great read by T.M. Frazier. Doe has no memories of who she is or where she is from. She's homeless, hungry and desperate. King is a notorious career criminal who was just released from prison. The come crashing together. Tyrant (King #2) was a great read by T.M. Frazier. Doe finally remembers everything, but wishes she didn't. She's more afraid than when she woke up handcuffed in King's bed. She must not let on that the memory has returned because it will put the lives of those she loves at risk. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
These books are brilliant and well worth the time to read them . King is broody, sexy man who is always in control if not always on the right side of the law. He and his best friends Preppy , the clown with a dark side and Bear, a biker live their lives in the fast lane . But then at a party for King a young innocent woman turns up and changes their lives forever. Doe is innocent but very sexy woman whose lost her memory and due to unforseen circumstances ends up a prisoner of Kings . This leads to a epic roller coaster journey of a story .
This duet includes both King and Tyrant, which revolve around a woman who doesn't remember who she is, and her captor/reluctant savior. This is a dark romance, which means that a lot of the content could be potentially triggering for those unaccustomed to the subgenre. It's well-crafted, but it seemed a little too dark for this particular collection.
CW/TW: Sexual assault, torture, and murder all on page.
I can’t even believe how much I cried reading these two books! Happy, sad, excited.. gut wrenching torment...I can not recommend this book enough!!! Everyone should buy it now!
This author is new to me but so worth the read. This series is fantastic to read it has some dark scenes, hot as hell sex scenes and filled with twists and turns. The books are like a roller coater of emotions filled with humour and i couldn't put it down. This was an easy 5 stars from me
