Intrigue in Istanbul? A suspect in Sofia? A ruse on the Riviera?

Scarlet Haslewood & Mr. White return for Book 2 of The Haslewood Mysteries!

As Scarlet welcomes Thomas back from America, their new relationship continues to blossom. At the same time, Scarlet begins introducing Thomas to a few of her close friends - one of whom is Jacques, the kindhearted hotelier who took her in after the Great War. When they decide to visit him in Reims, they find out that Jacques has some exciting news: he’s in love.

At first, the lovely Miss Eléonore Marchand seems the portrait of a perfect lady. But it isn’t long before Scarlet gets a whiff of something suspicious. She’s not sure what it is, but she’s certain of one thing: there’s more to Mademoiselle Marchand than meets the eye. And Jacques might just be too love-struck to see it.

So the only question is, can Scarlet & Thomas crisscross Europe piecing together the clues in time to convince him... or will they have to take a more ‘creative’ approach to stop him making what might turn out to be a deadly mistake?

Oh, right – and then there’s the Englishman with a grudge, who hasn’t forgotten about a little painting he purchased - or the French Comtesse who sold it to him...

WRITES WITH A MIGHT "PEN," AND HAS DEVELOPED A SERIES THAT IS CHARMING, CAPTIVATING,
ENTERTAINING AND ACTION-PACKED. EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT IN A GREAT BOOK.

Primary character, Scarlet, changed markedly from first book. Became a simpering, whimpering, guilt-ridden victim of her own misbegotten ways. Thomas is a deadly dull character. Read first book in series so that you know what's going-on. I shan't be reading the third installment. I do not enjoy the "new" Scarlet, nor her boringly, unfunny, stiff paramour.
