Catherine Banks is an award-winning, USA Today Bestselling fantasy author who writes in several romance subgenres under multiple pseudonyms. She began writing fiction at only four years old and finished her first full-length novel at the age of fifteen. She is married to her soulmate and best friend, Avery, who she has two amazing children with. After her full time job, she reads books, plays video games, and watches anime shows and movies with her family to relax. Although she has lived in Northern California her entire life, she dreams of traveling around the world. Catherine is also C.E.O. of Turbo Kitten Industries™, a company with many hats including being a book publisher and store full of nerdy fun.
It’s difficult to grow emotionally attached to a character in less than 50 pages, let alone 7 – including the MC – so this book was clearly never meant to be more than “just okay”. I AM intrigued by the little glimpses of the world we were hinted at, but this feels more like a series outline than an actual book.
Should the author decide to expand on the series, I would be happy to read it. As it is right now, it feels like I read a long preview. It could also do with some editing, what with Brandon reaching for Becka in a paragraph, but Alex "releasing" her in the next one.
I also can’t really say I cared about Alex asking if she was going to sleep with the new guys. It came a bit too close to bullying for a guy that’s meant to be contrite and looking to make amends.
Classic Catherine Banks! This was one unexpected shifter RH! The ending leaves you wanting more! What girl doesn't want two types of shifters dedicated to protecting her?! Loved the father's coping mechanism.... candy bars fix everything 😉 This was exactly the type of story that I've come to expect from Ms. Banks! She always pens a surprising and inventive tale!
