Believed to be the true inspiration behind "CARS" animated movies. It all started in 1986on the ski slopes of Austria when I had a chance encounter with a near neighbour with a near neighbour of mine from Hayling Island, Brian Mullineaux, after exchanging surprise pleasantries he asked if we could meet up that evening at my hotel as he had something he wanted to discuss with me. At the meeting that evening Brian mentioned that he new of my interest in old cars and asked if I would be willing to take part in a classic car event to celebrate the bi-centenary of Australia, all vehicles taking part had to be pre 1936 vintage, in an endurance rally without backup, across the world, to start at Marble Arch on new years day 1988and to finish at the Sidney Opra House, there was no time limit specified nor any specific route.to complete the journey. Without hesitation in my reply was Yes!!! The book also covers what happened afterwards, Cookie goes to Hollywood; The legal battle to get this story recognised as the inspiration for the Pixar / Disney movies CARS
