Debunked: Uncovering hard truths about EDSA, Martial Law, Marcos, Aquino, with a special section on the Duterte Presidency

Rate this book
In his first book, Colossal Deception, award-winning journalist Rigoberto D. Tiglao exposed the control by foreigners of our telecoms industry. In this new title, Tiglao delves deeper into why the Philippines has been stuck in a political and economic quagmire since the EDSA People Power Revolt of 1986 – and how the narrative of the “Yellow” oligarchy has been destroying democratic institutions and weakening nationalism. With hard facts and solid research, Tiglao debunks the myths and fallacies propagated by the ruling elites to keep their hold onto power. He bravely exposes the hidden facts about EDSA, the Aquino-Cojuangco family, the role of the Communist and Liberal parties in provoking the imposition of Martial Law, and eviscerates the first fake news, the alleged “Jabidah Massacre”.The revelations abound in this book that is destined to be a classic must-read for the new generation. Tiglao uncovered details about the illegal Disbursement Acceleration Program of the Aquino administration, and how this fund was used to remove Chief Justice Renato Corona from the Supreme Court.Tiglao’s book will open the mind of every Filipino as to how they have been hoodwinked into believing the “Good versus Evil” narrative of the Yellow oligarchy. The reader will come away with a better understanding of why we are where we are, and why the radical presidency of Rodrigo Duterte is the country’s best chance at genuine national development.

The book is obviously biased and does not offer a clear perspective on Philippine history. Nakakakilabot yung dis/misinformation na nakapaloob dito.

The spreading of disinformation like this can be scary and threatening to the Philippines and its people, and this book wholly embodies it. It makes you think about its credibility, like asking "why was this even released during this administration?" Not to mention the credibility of the high reviews this book is getting in this website as if those users are in a cult following and are always ready to submit to the Marcoses. Anyway, this entire thing is a huge red flag and those with common sense will not hesitate to agree with it. Do not buy it; boycott it.

Must-read for Filipinos including the yellow-cult

Debunked really debunks all of the myths and propaganda created by the following : CPP-NPA, Yellow Aquino clan, Yellow media, Catholic church. It's well researched and I read it all in just a few days considering I'm pretty slow. Especially love the expose on BS Aquino, he deserves more than condemning but long time imprisonment

All hearsay. Tiglao is repeating the conspiracy theories spread online by Marcos trolls. No facts or documentary evidence to back up his claims. This is barely an attempt to correct history. It is simply disinformation and historical distortionism.

Shameful for someone like Tiglao who was a Martial Law human rights compensation claimant.

The author titled this book "debunked" and hailed by most of the readers containing "facts" pero wala man lang list of bibliographies to support/justify his claims.

When talking about history dapat maipakita ng author kung
ano-anong literary resources ang ginamit nya. This is crucial. When you fail to provide it's just a mere opinion or maybe lies to distort facts.

Biased and lopsided, with the intent to erase atrocities of the Marcos era. Historical fiction at best, twisting information and crafting as facts.

Rigoberto D. Tiglao is one of the most important voices in the Philippines today. He also writes a very informative column for the Manila Time.

Mr. Tiglao was formerly a diplomat to both Cyprus and Greece under former President Arroyo, and he is, by far, one of the most knowledgeable people about the Philippines, both past and present.

He literally knows EVERYTHING that is going on in the Philippines and, especially knows what is going on BEHIND THE SCENES. He can, and does tell you all the secret and hidden motivations for the different events that have shaped both, the Philippines AND THE ENTIRE WORLD, .no matter how well-kept these secrets are believed to be.

I strongly recommend this book, as well as any other book he may write, because his information is extremely accurate, clearly written, and very easy to follow. As they say, 'Knowledge is Power', and Mr. Tiglao is one of the best sources of knowledge today.

I highly recommend this book to all, especially Filipinos. The separation of fact from fiction makes this book "required" reading in the education system, particularly in the college curriculum. Bobi Tiglao reveals the misuse of the media for personal gains by the Aquino administration as well as the truths regarding the reported human rights violations during the Marcos years. The facts behind The confusion over the South China Sea territorial disputes publications was clarified with easy to understand historical facts and current international rulings. The facts about the Jabidah Massacre, which Tiglao presents, add to the intrigue surrounding this Philippine anomaly. Particularly significant is the section on nation/state which identifies the reasons for the current lack of nation-loyalty. Overall, this book refutes some of the generally accepted explanations of recent historical events and political motivations and should be read by all.

A very timely read as I begun this book on the 36th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. This piece refutes the generally accepted explanations mainly about Marcos and Aquino regimes and its political motiviations. Hard truths has been laid as well in regards with President Duterte’s war on drugs. It’s a perfect start of my research for the upcoming election.

Such an incredible book aberrance from the Philippines' mainstream narrative. Information that unheard-of in the academic chronicle.

The information from this book was very interesting and absolutely crucial, for a mind corrupted by the propaganda of the victors which dominated the academics and mass media, and for exploring the other side of the story for a mind that seeks an impartial understanding of the Philippine Politics. So interesting that it did not fail to surprise me every chapter of this book.

I had been sighted this book for so many instances but I was still not convinced to invest my time for this book as yet as I was not interested in the Philippine Politics back then. It only reminded me again of acquiring this book from the time of my conversation with my friend. He seemed as if bothered by the desperation of Politics that was going on in his environment. He somewhat urged by his desperate friends that were supporters of a particular political camp to join the caravan of their chosen presidentiable despite of his insisting not to as he preferred not to being Political. So he asked me if I have this book as he was already considering to educate himself from which time I also started to find this book. I told him that its no use arguing with them that it would be a waste of time and effort as they might just discredit all the information that were not aligned with their political cult. Even then, I was still not inclined to start reading this until recently that the election day is nearing, as the black propaganda also intensifies in which I thought it would be fun if I start reading this amidst of the commotions of intrigues and propaganda.

I was then not interested about seeking books about Philippine Politics partly because I believed that it was crystal clear to me the biggest scams and blunderers in the history of the country that seeking more is just a waste of time that would still lead to nothing new to change my current understanding. Partly because it doesn't really affect my everyday life except that since Duterte, our town became safer and benefited me on the last years of my school days to avail the free tuition fee that was finally signed into law after filing for it for the past several administrations. So reading this book did not absolutely shift my understanding about Philippine Politics, it only deepened and strengthened it. Rigoberto Tiglao seems to be inclined to support the Uniteam camp so it's no surprise that he might be emphasizing something in his book. But surprisingly, the way he shows the predicaments about the Marcos era was quite explicit that you might think them as impartial and mistaken him as anti-Marcos in some instances. Nevertheless, the information in this book is better than the one-sided narrative that portrayed by the mainstream media and the current academic world.

Not only did strengthen my understanding about the recent history of the Philippines, it also taught me a lot about many conundrums that have been heat of the moment and diverged to be the source of the various narratives to confuse the people that still haunting us up to these days. I got a lot of new information out of this book but the most revelation to me were those narratives involving President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Noynoy Aquino. It really fascinated me how the democracy works in the Philippine Politics for many decades. The gameplay on how to control the minds of the populace in which the role of the mainstream media to disseminate propaganda over the masses that would come into play. But reality has its own time to catch up to the imagination of the supposed promise of democracy that doesn't live up to the reality of the majority after many decades. It is also the time when the morale of the mainstream media is turning to be in an all time low that people are not already taking them seriously. But one factor that counterbalances the influence of the mainstream media is the dissemination of technology in which the game of influence has been as if altered in a new way where even the voice of the low budget individual could easily been heard by the masses through the help of its algorithm. But even that, propagandists have, little by little, learned to catch up to the world of social media.

This book is an eye-opener for everyone who wants to know the other side of the story than the established norm regarding the history of the Philippine Politics as well as knowing the covertly maneuvering tactics that has been the play in a democratized nation such as the Philippines. I wish this book will be translated into Filipino so that wide filipino audience will be reached out.

Tells the TRUTH starting from the Martial Law days in the 70's up to early years of Rodrigo Duterte's presidency.

The author is a former CPP-NPA-NDF member during Martial Law days and now writes as a columnist in The Manila Times online newspaper.

1. Tells about that the Jabidah Massacre is nothing but a hoax that didn't really happen.

2..how the liberal party of the Philippines provoked the declaration of Martial Law

3. the CPP-NPA-NDF especially with its leader Joma Sison and their involvement with the Plaza Miranda bombing that they blamed to Marcos Sr.

4. the truth about the human right violations during martial law

5. the background profile of the traitor Ninoy Aquino Jr. and the mystery of his assassination in the airport

6. the 1979 Iranian revolution that triggered the oil crisis followed by the 1981 bank crisis by Dewey Dee, global debt crisis of 1982 triggered by the Mexican default loan and the 2nd oil crisis in 1983 that made the Philippines default on its loan in the same year and barred the country from foreign exchange for its export goods and services causing the Philippine economy to collapse

7. History of the fourth Prime Minister of the Philippines - Cesar Virata.

8. story about the EDSA Revolution as it was all planned by the U.S. government and CIA: that they just used Cory "Korikong" Aquino as the CIA told Raegan and thought that if Marcos was deposed then the rise of communism in the Philippines will be prevented and their US military base that was in danger of getting suspended in 1992 will be extended, how the 1986 snap election was timed by the CIA and brought Marcos Sr. to his own demise in politics

9. how the EDSA Revolution influenced and imitated by other nations in trying to depose their authoritarian leaders resulting with others success and others catastrophic failures

10. the corruption and incompetence of the mother-son Aquinos that even though they became presidents, they didn't investigate the murder of their patriarch Ninoy Jr., and as well as the failures of the liberal party of the Philippines

11. How Fidel V. Ramos hid what really happened during martial law when he became president.

12. how the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona was all lies, greed and corruption of the Aquinos that involve the revelation of Noynoy "Abnoy-panot" Aquino's PDAP or pork barrel scam and his presidency's motive is to save their Cojuangco clan from bankruptcy and the billions of pesos compensation money of their Hacienda Luisita that its land should be given to farmers

13. how Abnoy Aquino sabotaged the flood control project of the government

14. The sold Porsche 911 Carrera by Abnoy that he said he owns that has no LTO (Land Transportation Office) record and could be a gift from a Chinese tycoon that made his business prosper during Abnoy's term as president which is a crime as politicians cannot accept expensive gifts from friends.

15. Didn't touch the issue on illegal drugs and smuggling during Aquino's term.

16. The Dengvaxia scandal

17. The SAF44 Mamasapano Massacre and the involvement of Indonesia-Japanese co-owned Smart Telecommunications company.

18. Our Spratly Island territories and how Scarborough and Panatag Shoals, Kalayaan Islands were stolen by China due to Abnoy sending Trililing Trillanes to negotiate to China.

19. How we are left behind economically by our Asian neighbors

20. Duterte's early years as president especially about his War on Drugs and the lies of the U.S. funded blog/vlog news site Rappler.

21. That most of the world's communist-dictators came from the wealthy landlord elite class.

22. Philippines' global citizen elites that results to their lack of nationalism and only see the country as something to make money in.

*The pink-yellowtards are again pissed with all these revelations and exposing the truth to be shared to all. If you're sick and tired of the yellow narrative that Ninoy is a hero and Cory is the mother of democracy which are a pack of lies that is taught to kids since the 80's to 90's in Philippine grade schools to highschools and want to read the side of the conservatives then you must read this book. A great must read. 👍

Tiglao not just narrates the facts of the topic he's on about, but "teaches" the reader on what it is about. Reading it never really made me feel in the dark or ignorant of the stated facts. One doesn't have to have a background in politics to understand this book, but only a clear and open mind.
Definitely a book that made me say a lot of "Ooohhhs" and "Aaahhhs"; truly an eye-opener for every Filipino wanting to see the bigger picture of our nation.
