I like a little sex with my story but this is a lot of sex and punishment with very little story. I have enjoyed many of Sara Fields earlier books (Vakarran, Terranovum, and definitely The Warrior's Little Princess) but lately, Sara's and a lot of the SNP authors' stories are really heavy on the spanking and punishment sex (and humiliation) and less on the romance.
This story has a good plot idea and good writing. I would have loved the author to expand upon the actual story. What story there was is good and would have been fabulous if it had been expounded upon.

Really 2.5 stars rounded up because it had potential. I like the dark billionaire mafia boss trope. This book had a few problems though. The smut scenes were just too
OTT. From the amount of spanks this girl got in a week I’m surprised she’s not in The hospital. I skimmed through half the spicy scenes because they were just went on and on to the point that they were boring. The background Japanese mafia story was interesting though. Also the framework for the H and h was interesting if only they would have been developed. The O’s though 15 at a time for her and 1 for him— now that really made me laugh. I would classify this as a ridiculous book. If nonstop spanks and O’s are your jam then go for it.

God, I love Sara Fields. Boss is something you want to read when you are looking for a dirty, sexy, nasty read to fall asleep to. I will say there is a storyline which is so nice to say since sometimes the story can be lost in all the sex. But I highly enjoyed this story.
Dominic (what is it about that name that just turns ya on?) is a total alpha male that makes sure what he wants gets done. He takes no prisoners and everyone better watch out. Brooke thinks she knows what she is getting into when she walks into Dominic's office but she finds she has no idea.
Very enjoyable story.

I did like what the story was about . It did say there would be spanking belt . Ok so I knew that . It just seemed that is all he did to her every chance he got . And I really don't how any woman can have them many orgasms in a row non stop . Just seem the book was nothing but punishment and orgasms over and over .maybe just me I sure others like it . I don't mind reads into that but the just to much.it didn't bother me just same thing over and over.

Basically, a good story, but this time a bit too unbalanced, somehow totally out of balance.
This time were the actual small, delicate sessions rather on steroids, unnecessarily pumped up and thus dragged out - powerless and miserably - so that for the mafia-story energy, endurance and means were probably already used up.
The basic idea of the story is great and had potential, but unfortunately it was missed out, just like the romantic relationship.
This time I wasn't able to follow and I'm not convinced that there is a HEA at the end, rather a commodity in private possession.
But with so many regular new books, not every one can be a jewel, but even semi-precious stones are okay. That doesn’t mean Sara Fields did a horrible job, on the contrary, well written as always, but not one of her best books.

Not my favorate Sara Fields book but it was still a good read. Reading these books always gives me a sense of comfort so this book was not picked up in the hopes of it being amazing but with the knowledge that it wouldn’t put me in a slump. So with that being the purpose it did its job. I did really enjoy reading it and viewed it as a good read.

To the 50% mark, the story was mostly sex and multiple orgasms. The plot was less than 10 pages and not that compelling. There were 4 characters. The heroine, a capable businesswoman who turns into a victim. The hero, a powerful businessman who is a rapist. And then there was his hand and her ass. I’m not sure what got more airtime. Probably the hand and ass.
Within a half hour of walking into this guy’s penthouse…because of course you wouldn’t go to his office…she’s naked and afraid. Yes, she’s turned on. Yes, she orgasms. Over and over and over and over and…you get the idea. It’s like a thesaurus on how to come. But that doesn’t make it consensual. Not when she’s afraid and not when she tells him to stop, no, don’t, please, etc.
That’s rape.
So I had to stop reading. Because while I don’t mind reading a variety of let’s call them unusual situations, I do mind reading books that turn my stomach. The whole time I was thinking how this would be a criminal trial if she’d only taken self defense classes and could get the f away from this bastard.
For such a capable woman - we are told in the two weeks her father’s been missing, she has handled several “profitable deals” - she is woefully naive. But that doesn’t excuse him at all.
With zero discussion, he belts her all over below the waist and then sodomizes her when she says no. That last part is why this isn’t “ass play” in the usual dom-sub vernacular.
Despite the extra hand and ass characters, the perspective changes from her to him. When he’s the narrator, there’s nothing likable about him. He talks about her as property. What he’s going to do to her next…dude, the belting of her privates wasn’t enough for you? There isn’t anything redeeming for how he grabbed her and ripped her clothes off and started beating her simply for visiting his home. Essentially that’s what happened.
He shouldn’t be called the boss. He should be called douchebag.

Wonderful story
Brooke's father is missing and Brooke goes to Dominic Porter's house in an attempt to investigate Mr. Porter, however Dominic decides he rather have Brooke. The two of them do eventually investigate the disappearance of Brooke's father and while Brooke gets into trouble on more than one occasion it all ends well and there is HEA at the end. I really love Sara Fields and this book is wonderful I am sure that if you like Sara Fields like I do that you will love it. If you have not tried a Sara Fields' book before, you are in for a treat.

This book was amazing!! I absolutely loved Brooke and Dominic! Brooke went to see Dominic about her father’s disappearance thinking he may have something to do with it. What she finds is a powerful Dominant and he wants to make her his. The chemistry between Dominic and Brooke is smoking hot! This story is fast paced, suspenseful, intense, dark, and so so hot. A real page turner and a must read.

When Brooke needed help finding her father who disappeared she goes to Dominic for help and boy does he help her. Boss is a dark and twisted story with ott punishments and a couple who take it to the next level. This is a well written steamy story and if ott punishment and spankings aren't your thing this isn't the book for you. But if you are like me and like a good story to accompany the twistiness then this is definitely for you. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This story left me with some mixed feelings. On one hand, I enjoyed the storyline a lot. Suspenseful, intense and dark but on the other hand, it seemed like every time Brooke turned around, Dominic was punishing her for any little thing he could think of. I know Brooke wanted it and hated it at the same time but at times, I sort of rolled my eyes and said , here we go again. I love this authors works and while this left me confused a few times, I still liked the plot and I will continue to read her books when they come out!

Boss by Sara Fields is one book by this author that I did not enjoy, Yep there were some interesting parts but overall it was just way too much for me. Now don't go getting upset with me as I have read and enjoyed a number of other books by this author but this one just was all wrong from the start. The characters did not make any sense, the brutality of the punishment was way too harsh considering what the issue was and then the sex scenes were strange and way overly exaggerated. So for me this book is a pass as the Boss should be fired.

Hottest sex scene you'll ever read in your life hands down. Smuttiest smutfest and I loved every minute of it.
In all seriousness, Sara Fields is in a league of her own when it comes to erotica erotic fiction.
I personally only read her contemporary work and it never fails to deliver on the best steam. She always has crazy things in her books I've never heard of which is why I love her. It's as though you're on this crazy rollercoaster of what insane thing is going to happen next.

This story lived up to all my expectations. The writing was superb, as always, and I found it very easy to slip into the story and difficult to put it down. One of my favorite things about this author is her female characters. They are strong, determined, independent women who don't need someone to save them. They also need an even stronger man that they can lean on and trust to take care of them. That dynamic comes across loud and clear in this one. Brooke may be nervous about what she is doing, but she isn't going to show it, and Dominic knows more than he's letting on and isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. This leads to a lot of steamy scenes where the chemistry between the two characters is hot enough to burn.
Another thing that I was very pleased with was the strong plot. The story isn't all about the relationship between Dominic and Brooke. There is a reason why they come together, and it doesn't get glossed over for all the steamy scenes. It keeps the story moving at a nice pace and blends perfectly with the romance. At no time during this story did I find myself skimming to get to the next good part. All of it was fantastic. My only issue is that I read it much too quickly, and now I'm left waiting for the next amazing read by this fabulous author.

When Brooke sets up a meeting with Dominic with the intention of ascertaining whether or not he knew anything about her father's disappearance, she gets more than she was bargained for. Dominic agrees to help Brooke but vows to make her his. (Mostly) they work together to find Brooke's father, going through clues from business records and Dominic's multitude of contacts. I enjoyed that Brooke is smart and holds her own in business and uses her strengths to exploit other's weaknesses. I enjoyed that the mafia was the Japanese Yakuza and not the typical Russian, Italian or Irish mafia/mob. And OMG this book was on fire! Sexy and not for the faint of heart. In the process of trying to find her father, Brooke also finds her kink and her future.
I liked Heather Firth's narration for Brooke but John Solo's of Dominic was a bit jarring. His voice was a lot softer and higher in pitch than I was expecting. Not as deep and growly as I'm used to.

When Brooke sets up a meeting with Dominic with the intention of ascertaining whether or not he knew anything about her father's disappearance, she gets more than she was bargained for. Dominic agrees to help Brooke but vows to make her his. (Mostly) they work together to find Brooke's father, going through clues from business records and Dominic's multitude of contacts. I enjoyed that Brooke is smart and holds her own in business and uses her strengths to exploit other's weaknesses. I enjoyed that the mafia was the Japanese Yakuza and not the typical Russian, Italian or Irish mafia/mob. And OMG this book was on fire! Sexy and not for the faint of heart. In the process of trying to find her father, Brooke also finds her kink and her future.
I liked Heather Firth's narration for Brooke but John Solo's of Dominic was a bit jarring. His voice was a lot softer and higher in pitch than I was expecting. Not as deep and growly as I'm used to.

This is a truly outstanding mafia romance with a devilishly, dark undertone. The story-line & plot is intriguing & written with some unexpected suspenseful situations & events. There is good scene descriptions & world building. The well-developed characters have unique personalities with believable emotional flaws & there is good chemistry between them although one of the characters (Dominic) is inclined to be devious with ulterior motives while the other character (Brooke) is actually quite manipulative at times.
It is about: a domineering mafia mob boss (Dominic Porter) is quite determined to claim a feisty young woman (Brooke Mikael) for his own, with or without her consent.
There is: Brooke’s missing father (Seth), various kinds of mafia organizations, allies, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, secrets, mystery, deceit, betrayal, threats, danger, violence, enemies, BDSM, discipline, spankings, domination/submission, defiance, emotional turmoil, abduction, devious intentions, determination, vengeance, blazing guns, conflict, confrontations, manipulations, compromises, contentment, love, explicit steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy conclusion.

Dominic was cruel and sadistic in his desires!

When Brooke's father disappeared last week, she immediately knew something was wrong. After going back through his emails, she discovered the name of a man who may be able to help find her father. Dominic Porter was a stranger to Brooke when he agreed to help find her father; she was relieved but did not expect what she would have to do in return. Dominic demanded her obedience and submission. She was to call him Sir and follow his instructions to the letter or suffer the consequences. Brooke had never been punished; she was determined, headstrong, and used to being in charge. Dominic was now in charge, and her life would never be the same ever again. I found this was an explosive read, Dominic was a man who demanded obedience, and Brooke learned not to fight the punishments she earned. I thought Dominic cruel and sadistic in his desire and went too far, in my opinion.

Her father had been missing for a week without Brooke or the board of directors of his company knowing anything about his plans. When she couldn't find any trace of information anywhere else, she started loudly making inquiries about Dominic Porter. She'd found a few innocuous emails between them, but he seemed to be the only person with enough money and power to have anything to do with her father's disappearance. Finally, Dominic called for a meeting to find out why she was making inquiries. Even though Brooke was extremely smart, both personally and in business, she played the role of spoiled trust fund baby wanting Dominic to ensure the board of directors didn't stop her bills and credit cards being paid. Because Dominic was a friend of her fathers and they had done business together in the past, he was determined to teach her a lesson about the danger she could be in. And it would be one she wouldn't soon forget. This was an instant attraction, hard D/s relationship with intense BDSM scenes that were just heart pumping HOT!!! I truly couldn't put this one down.

Let's talk about the cover first. Cause that cover is straight PO*NSUIT! I can picture Dominic perfectly in that suit, getting his cuflinks off, to spank me red. Lawwwwd have mercy with this man!
The author definitly create a monster with Dominic.
Then, let's talk about my mistake on starting this book just before going to bed. I tought it's gonna be slow start like any other book. I thought I can read first chapter before bed and get to the good juicy stuff tomorrow. Perfect plan! But it backfired!
The author attack full force right from the start!
Dominic make my behind sore so delicious, undies ruin beyond repair, and my lawwwd his stamina! This man is a beast!
I do not recommend this book if you love spankin, caning, force big O, total domination. Cause I've been there. And now I want no one but Dominic in my life. This book is poison! Seriously!

Brooke Mikaels wanted to shake up Dominic Porter’s world. She wanted him to underestimate her. Drop his guard. He had to know something about why her father was missing. But be careful what you wish for. It can all lead to a sore bottom. Dominic was no fool and he wasn’t falling for her. He knew she wasn’t a spoiled rich girl. He was going to teach her that he was in control and she would never try to manipulate him again.
WOW!!! First let me say that Brooke really didn’t think things through. Boy, did she get punished. I COULD NOT put the kindle down. Just when you thought it was over, WHACK! She was definitely going to be sore. If she just would have asked, she probably would have been better off. Lot of intrigue in this one. We have the Japanese Yakuza. I love when we get more into something really “sticky.” No pun intended. With all that there is hot steamy punishing sore sex and finding her father. So good you are going to feel dirty after. YES!!!

Brooke is an important part of her father’s business, but now he is missing, and she is seriously worried. She dresses as a spoiled little rich girl and goes to see Dominic in order to try to ascertain information on her father’s whereabouts, but her plan seems to have unforeseen consequences. Dominic quickly sees right through her manipulation. He will help her, but first he is going to discipline her severely. The punishment involved is intensely painful, as is her pleasure. Will she be willing to submit? Will she earn other chastisement? (She will!) Dominic is in total control. He definitely controls the thoroughly appropriate punishments! He controls the demeaning torture! He controls her exquisite pleasure! (And, embarrassingly, he controlled my heartbeat!) This is one HOT, exciting, erotic, enticing story that I never wanted to end!

You couldn't ask for more! Brooke's dad went missing so she goes to a business associate to get the real story. She thinks Dominic, the associate had something to do with her dad's disappearance but she was wrong and Dominic makes her pay for her false accusations and not being honest with him from the very beginning. Her punishments are many and painful and all involve sex in one form or another. Once they get past the sex and punishment part, they get involved with the Asian Mafias to track down her missing dad. There was plenty of angst between the worry over Brooke's dad and the many punishments Brooke gets for her many perceived offences but I was proud of her the few times she actually took control and did what she felt was best. I will say that in spite of everything that happened, they get their HEA.
