Legacy Academy: Year Two

Rate this book
Whew, my first year at the academy is over––what a ride.

I found an amulet that showed me Mom is alive, but I don’t know where she is.

The only way to find her is for me to master my powers, but I’m failing. If I don’t pass, I’ll be kicked out of school.

Without my powers, I won’t be strong enough to defeat the Dark Demons and rescue Mom.

My two handsome princes are still with me. They make it hard to stay focused, but I have to, or Mom will slip through my fingers.

Unfortunately, the Dark Demons are becoming bolder and if I don’t work fast, I could lose everyone I love.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

Of course I jumped right into this book after book 1.

So much has happened since book 1! There is so much push and pull between Raven and her two princes fighting over her. She is in such a difficult position as she has feelings for both and doesn't want to hurt either one. With more and more info coming to light about Raven, she jumps up to start training with the princes which of course makes her enemies even more jealous. Gah Bo and Lucian are so hard to choose between, but there is just something about Lucian that makes me lean towards him! Maybe she will choose both...

This was a great book and I immediately picked up the entire series!

We have suspense, action, attitude, and heartache. The Characters keep evolving along with the storyline. Raven is back in her second year at the academy and she does not know what to think. The Royals are still standing beside her along with a few other friends. We still have the girls that like to cause problems and of course now a few instructors. What will Raven do to stay at the academy? Will Ryker get in and hurt more people and her too. Will her guys stay by her side if their families don't want them too. Will the instructors stay by her side? Can the Headmaster help her or just keep giving riddles? What will happen if they send her to the Hallows? Will she ever find her mother or is that a lost cause?

This is a fab second book. I loved book one so was very happy to dive straight into book two and it did not let me down! Once again the storyline drew me in and kept me engrossed as more problems arise and the drama continues. Great character development, fantastic storyline, exciting and entertaining, danger and intrigue and I cannot wait to read book three!

Just order all four book on paperback. Will be here on 9/19. Just have to make sure I keep them away from my niece or she'll never give them back.
Well I read them all. But the first 3 books all start out the same like it was a repeat you knew what to expect. I had to jump around just to get to see what was not already predicted.
Fourth book I had just a hard time getting into.

Bo Betrays her, as she says herself a few times, but then he just decide to not be a piece o shit, especially after all those promises about always be there for her and the stupid defenders bs, and is like nothing had ever happened for Raven. Like people was not giving her to some demon king on a silver plate to be used e tortured. Go Bo!

Vivian is described as practically dancing around the school because of this prospect, but she is not so bad, isn't she? God, i don't think any of the rivals i have ever had would be happy if something like that was in the cards for me. If this is not evil i don't know what is.

Suddenly they are both there by her side, without any explanation. Were they drugged? Are they high? Maybe they just bump they head on something hard at the same time? Why create a narrative if there will be no repercussions? What's the point?

Why Anto want's people to trust Vivian with they lives in the battlefield? She can't be trusted in the cafeteria, "is time for you all to stop fighting..." Nobody is fighting but Vivian, why should anyone tolerate her behavior? why he is not saying that to her?

Raven is know training with the Royals. WOW! that's so special, that's unprecedented.
All because she's a ancient white dragon, with unknown powers, explore this powers can be dangerous for the others students, and also should be kept as an secret. But than without any reason... everybody will starts training together.... because they are... the girls.. they...bang? or used to bang?

The headmaster have standards..."everybody should start training for war with they besties and they teenager wet dream! the most important is to live an happily life for as long as it last, because of the war! Everybody but Mina and Megan, because they don't want to fuck a royal and they daddy's does not have money! Now lets force some trust among you."

If Vivian is not a horrible, evil, low living being, why she acts like one?
If Bo didn't do nothing wrong why exploit all the loneliness and betrayal he caused? Why Lucien is the only one who remembers? His betrayal isn't just about Raven, is about the team they had even before her, how can anyone trust him in anything if in the first problem he didn't even try to do something?

Lucien pointing that out should not be about some contest he have with Bo, like the rest of the group seems to perceive. Bo can not be trusted to have anybody's back, he is a coward. He just step aside as people make excuses to live Raven completely unprotected, in the end they are not even sending her to prison, they are just living her to be taken by a Demon, and nobody acts like this is a atrocious thing to do doesn't matter if she is a dragon or not. Shes's a kid, barely 19... and come on in war we do exactly what our enemy wants, riiiight.....

The dragon king is evil, the cousin is evil, who does something like that? Leave you to be taken by a psychopath and can still live like they are good people? What kind of people follows this kind of kings? And Bo abandon her to that and the worst is he is back in book 3 like nothing has happened. Nobody says anything, and he never shows any regret. Guys look! A love story.

I will not be reading this series anymore, 9% of the third book with this shit show narrative. This series is dumb.

This is Year Two for the characters in this academy series and sees them meeting up to travel back to the academy fr the start of the new school year. Raven spent the summer holiday with her human best friend Julie, whose home had been specially warded by the head Anton, to keep her out of sight of the Dark Demons. She hadn’t heard from any of her friends or any of the Prince’s over the break and wondered if they had forgotten about her. Until they meet by the train and find out none of them could reach her, so maybe Anton had done something to keep her safe. Raven gets an uncomfortable feeling whilst on the train and is shocked to see one of the Dark Demons flying alongside her window. Luckily someone else also saw Ari and when they get near the school, the head is already waiting for them, to hurry them into the warded school grounds. Ryker has been after her since last year and she thought she was safer now she had managed to get through her first year, without being chucked into the magical prison for being a silver dragon, something no one has seen in thousands of years and something they all fear, as her powers are unknown and also erratic!

Raven has the same roommate, Mina, who went by Willie the year before, but wants a fresh start with a more adult name. She had also been shunned last year, as her father was accused of being a traitor and had disappeared. There is also the matter of the royal princes, Lucien and Bo, who both kissed her at the end of term. Lucien is a Golden Demon and the most powerful of the Princes and their leader as such. Bo is a red dragon and she has feelings for both, but much stronger ones for Lucien. Only problem is that relationships between different types is strictly forbidden, so she can never have Lucien, but he still keeps drawing her in! She still has to deal with bully girl Vivian, who tries to make her think she and Bo got back together in the summer, but that soon gets revealed as fake. Vivian and her friends were used to hanging out with the Royals and sitting at their table, but that all changed when they started looking after Raven.

Raven took an orb from Anton’s desk before the holidays and has been using to search for her mother. She was taken when their home was set on fire by the Dark Demons, which left Raven being taken to the school, having known nothing about magic before this. Raven could feel her mother was still alive out there somewhere and the orb allows her to see her mother, but she is in some sort of prison cell and al she can see out the bars of the window is a tree. She needs to get better control of her powers, which is a bit difficult since no one knows what to expect, so she can be strong enough to rescue her mother! She nearly failed her trials last year, as her dragon breathes ice, not fire, but got through by a technicality. Now more people want her removed from the school and Ryker would love that, but only if she isn’t placed in the prison, as that is better warded than the school. Shortly after starting lessons, the dragons get told their next trial will involve a couple more tasks. One will be to turn themselves invisible, for at least five minutes, another to work on their intuition and knowing when danger is around and she still needs to produce three different levels of fire, something impossible for her dragon!

When she manages to freeze the teacher when having spells thrown at her in class, everyone is in uproar and the teacher for one, wants her expelled for attacking a member of staff! Anton calls in Bo’s cousin to take over the class, but he has a huge chip on his shoulder about her very existence and makes life even harder for her. Ryker still has influence and word of her new power must have spread as suddenly Raven must face her next trail in only a matter of weeks, and only her! The Princes have been told by their fathers not to have anything to do with her and Bo’s has threatened to disinherit him, taking him out of succession to become king once his father dies. Having his cousin there, one of the king’s guards, means he is being closely watched and has to suddenly cut himself off from Raven. All the other Prince’s ignore their fathers and don’t take Bo’s actions well. Anton has Lucien training Raven one to one in secret, about his Golden Demon powers and to work their way through the different tasks of the trial. Raven wants to jump straight to fire, but she is told she has to start with the basics.

When the Dark Demons get even bolder and doppelgangers somehow get into the academy itself, through the wards of the school, Raven is targeted and only her instincts help her know something is off about the person in front of her, a doppelganger. This figure takes on different identities and only a safe word set up with Lucien, allows her to protect herself in time, during one attack. She is so good at noticing when something is ‘off’ that Anton has her try to teach the rest of her group of Defenders, as they call each other! After a number of these attacks, her trials are suddenly pushed up to the end of the week. She only has days to get ready and she can’t currently pass any of the tests. Anton is bust being cryptic again, about her and some prophecies, insisting she train with Lucien, but keep it secret even from the rest of their friends. A portal has been opened under the school and is placing all of the students in danger, especially Raven. Unless they can close it permanently, everyone will continue to be in danger. Now the Kings are all forcing her to undergo her trails immediately, wanting her drummed out of the school and locked up where they believe she belongs.

Only a sharing of knowledge of powers and abilities will help Raven to get through these tests and she will have to pull on everything that Lucien can teach her. One of the most important being how to meditate and keep calm! Seemingly another prophecy involves Raven and Anton is keeping busy being as cryptic as usual, while Raven has to learn to control her powers and learn how to use them herself, since no one else has any idea about what powers a silver dragon should have. Lots of close shaves and action in this book and sees Raven finding out her image of her mother through the orb may also be linked to Mina’s father and his location and Mina’s nightmares. More to come and discover in the next one, as her search for her mother and the truth about Mina’s father will hopefully be revealed. This story only covers a matter of weeks in the first school term of the second year at the academy, but has lots happening and relationships growing stronger between those in her group of Defenders. Another quick and interesting read. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Be Prepared... Don't Say You Weren't Warned

Okay, so I initially wasn't going to write a review until the last page of book 4 had been read. You know what they say about "best laid plans..."

The first book of the series introduced me to all the characters and the bare bones of their strengths, weaknesses, and what may have made them tick. I learned that while they were all "together" as a united front against the evil that is stalking Legacy, but they were also united in believing in Raven and whatever it is that makes her special.

Book 2 continued to expand on everything that Book 1 introduced. It also introduced the idea that while each of the kingdoms was separate, it was more important to be united in order to defeat evil. United, even if there was animosity between individuals (Heath and Vivian are good examples of this).

However, I was NOT prepared for the end of Book 2! Without going into detail all I will say is everything the Defenders have stood for as a group and that each individual has learned through the various classes, trials, and personal challenges is going to be tested in the next two books. It is my prediction that they will grow in who and what they are and stand for and it will be important that despite the differences they exhibit, they MUST remember to work as a team to face and defeat the evil that haunts every single one of them in one way or another.

The way Book 2 ended made me ever so thankful that I've already downloaded Books 3 & 4 so I don't have to wait to read them! It has almost become an obsession, so be prepared to feel the same way! Don't say I didn't warn you when you finish Book 2.

And M. Guida, you absolutely ROCK in writing this series!! I like how you use your actual surroundings and your bestie's name in these books. It's said writing what you know best creates the most enjoyable reading. Too true!

I loved it! It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This story is a slow burn, with a love triangle, forbidden romance, fated mates, and found family. Grab this new romance academy and enroll in Legacy where you’ll met Dragons, Wolves, Demons, Fae, and Vampires. Welcome to Legacy Academy. There are three rules at this supernatural academy. One, date your own kind for mixing with other races is forbidden, two, never speak or look at The Royals, the powerful princes destined to rule each of their kingdoms and three, avoid the human world. Raven has broken all the rules. Raven’s first year at the academy is over and what a ride it was. She found a magical orb that showed her that her mom is alive, but not where she is. The only way to find her mom is for her to master her powers, but she’s failing and if she doesn’t pass, she’ll be kicked out of school. Without her powers, she couldn’t be strong enough to defeat the Dark Demons and rescue her mom. Her two handsome princes are still with her but they make it hard for her to stay focused, and she has to, or her mom will slip through her fingers. Unfortunately, the Dark Demons are becoming bolder and if she doesn’t work fast, she could lose everyone she loves. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I highly recommend to everyone.

Raven is now in her second year at Legacy Academy and things don’t seem to going any better than they were last year. There’s still a bit of a rivalry between Bo and Lucien for her affections, mean girls haven’t gone anywhere, a new demanding teacher, and demons and doppelgängers galore!

I do like this series, but I have to admit, it is getting a bit tiresome to read about one more incident after another that Raven continually finds herself in. I mean honestly, how many times can she wake up in the headmaster’s bed before people start to “talk?” I like the conflict between Bo and Lucien. And while I really hated Bo for deserting Raven when she really needed him, I did understand his reasons. And you could tell he was very conflicted about it.

The plot is good, and the world building is thorough, even if Anton’s esoteric answers and musings are confusing. There are some editing issues with some missing words in sentences here and there, but nothing horribly distracting. I thought I’d be disappointed in the lack of steamy sex in this series, so far, but I’m not. It actually allows the reader to concentrate on the storyline better. I rather like it. So, at this point, you can’t really refer to this series as a reverse harem or ménage. All our heroine has done is kiss 2 different guys. And it’s clear that she’s struggling with an attraction to 2 people.

I do recommend this book and the series to all fans of this genre of romance books.

For the whole series: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

First my bad, I thought this was an RH -- it's not. There is a love triangle but it obviously did not resolve the way I expected.

Ongoing issues:
1. Editing -- SOOOOOO many instances where the wrong word was used or just misspelled. A good editor would have solved this. It was a little ridiculous when the word would be used correctly literally ONE paragraph before. "threw it away", "through it away"
2. World building. While it was overall good, there were some nagging questions. Where does the money come from for the supernatural kingdoms? If our sup kids are going to college and only learning sup things, how does that pay the bills? The whole series everyone has money and never thinks about it.
3. While I don't think the heroine is a Mary Sue, sometimes the supporting characters treated her like one. Anyone who dislikes her is evil or turns evil.

Otherwise not a bad plot and a good ride. Kindle unlimited and engaging enough for me to plow through all 4 in a day. (sick day.)

Wow!! I love this series!!

So I don't like reading a book in a series out of order, so I started with book 1. I was completely enthralled!! Then going into book 2, now I am hooked and can't wait until book 3!!

Raven finds out on her 18th birthday after someone kidnapped her mother and burned her house down that she was actually a dragon Shifter. She gets sent to Legacy Academy to find out more about herself.

This particular book goes into year 2 (although book 1 ended prior to Christmas and then this one goes to the next fall?? What happened during that time?). She is being challenged again to complete her trials... months before anyone else. She finds out that there is a whole lot more going on that has to do with prophesies... and she might not be just a dragon!

Love, love, love this book!!! I enjoyed it wholeheartedly!! I can't wait to see what happens next!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

Like I said in my review about the first book, there are still a lot of dialogue problems in this book as well.

I wish the main character would stop having repetitive and cringy dialogue.

Spoiler Alert

The third book isn't out yet, but I won't hold my breath.

Okay so not even 10% in and wondering what happened to semester 2. Also how was the human world safer than the spelled train, bus and school? Anton is the one that spells all of them... When the demon kidnapped her mom and burned her house down, the human world wasn't safe and she stayed with her friend from highschool...

Really annoyed right now... At 64% Bo picks Raven up at Anton's. She's at Anton's because working with Lucien took the place of Dragon Magic. All of a sudden Bo tells her that his cousin is better but doesn't like her. Why does this matter? Oh right because now she has Dragon Magic class... Which doesn't make sense because they should now be going into second hour... PROOF READING WOULD have Ccught this...

The framer errors are one thing, but this changes the story... Ugh

The storytelling actually got worse and there was so much stupidity.

For example:

1) The female lead passed her mid-term exam six weeks into her schooling at the end of the last book but is now in her second year? What happened to the second half of the first semester and the second semester of the first year?

2) The wards on the female lead made her perfectly safe all summer in the human world but once she is behind the wards on the train, meaning she is double warded, she is found.

3) The headmaster kept criticizing her for not being in control of her powers when she's a frickin' student, not a master, who's only had six weeks of instruction and, in actuality, her powers have not spiraled out of control once.

4) One of the professors was insisting she learn to spew fire when her dragon power is clearly ice.

And that's just in the first three chapters.

Raven is an unknown and folks should be afraid!

Raven is back for her second year and things are not any better. Bo, Lucien and the rest of the Royals are there to pick up where they left off at summer break. Rykker, the dark demon, has upped his game and the academy is not as secure as it needs to be. There is never a dull moment and Raven still hasn't gained control of her powers, plus she has gained some new ones. I love that Lucien is one solid constant she has. Bo has issues of his own. I also loved that she has so many people on her side. This is one terrific series and I can't seem to stop thinking about it even when I'm finished. I don't know how I can wait almost 2 months for the next book.

loving it

I’m usually into heated romance with my action and drama but I don’t seem to mind it not being present this far! I love both men, though they both have some faults I suppose, but I’m really said this isn’t a why choose, unless one of them betrays her, I can’t seem to see her picking, although Lucien never abandoned her, but he’s still trying to show up Bo and I don’t want either of them to end up alone without a mate if she chooses. Unless one betrays her, which would mean I’d hate them but I just can’t see that happening unless the Kings threaten their roles or worse somehow. Can’t wait to unravel more in the next two books and see when this sister of Raven’s comes into play that I’ve heard about from seeing another series and also Lucien’s brother too!

Legacy Academy: Year Two: Paranormal Academy Romance

Love this book, but there were some grammatical errors that had me going crazy, because it didn’t make sense, had to change them in my head to make sense….
Anyways, Raven’s return to Legacy Academy has been more problematic than the first time. Pressure from the kings and everyone else has tried to separate the defenders.

I understand what Bo’s dad is doing, but something doesn’t seem right and Bo kinda of upset me in this book. He kinda of stepped back and hurt Raven….

Can’t wait to start reading the next book!
Definitely recommend this book…

ALC Audio Book Review
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the amazing opportunity to listen to an advanced audio version of this book. Raven just barely passed her trials at the end of book one. Being a silver dragon is a lot harder then she expected. I have a love/hate relationship for love triangles. I have no clue who she will end up with. Will she choose Lucian or Bo. At the end of this book Raven and the Defenders figured out Chamuel's prophecy. Now there will be another task Raven has to discover, only this time she won't be alone. I have really enjoyed this series so far. Bridget Bordeaux did a fantastic job narrating.

This is the second book in this series. We start off where the last ended. Raven is headed back to the academy. But her troubles have only began. She has to master and discover her powers and the prophecies. Only not Team Raven, and she has to prove herself to those who fear her powers and the unknown of the Silver Dragon. I enjoy that there is a bit of mystery in this book. Raven and Lucien have an awesome relationship forming and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Could not put this down!
In this second installment of the “Legacy Academy” series, Raven is still trying to master her magic, while trying not to be discouraged with not finding her mom and preparing for her year two trials. Raven is facing a difficult challenge of solving the prophecy riddle, master new powers, fighting demons, and her growing affection for Lucien. I can’t wait to see what is next for Raven and her royals.

Raven is back for year two and things start out with a bang and the story just gets better and better. There are trials, danger, secrets hot guys, and mean girls. It was great that Raven and all her friends and enemies are back. The story was good ans built from the first book and I rooted for Raven to discover more about herself and how to help find her mom as the story went along. Just a well written story it was easy to get lost in and kept me reading to the end to see what would happen next. Loved it.

Prophecy, prophecy, prophecy. Raven has one goal. Find where her mom is imprisoned. But to do that she has to stay at the academy and learn to use her powers. But Ryker has sent demons to stop her and kidnap her. Evil is all around her and she will need the royals and her friends. For only working together can they stop him. Prophesies have been written about her and they need to decipher them in order to know how to proceed and unlock her powers. Well that was a wild ride with Raven, Mina (aka Willie) and The Defenders (The Royals and their Ladies) ... Raven gets to s tossed st her, Prophesies, Vivian, Bo & Lucien stirring up strong feelings ... oh and moved up Trials that could find her expelled.

Can she pass and survive to attend another year at Legacy Academy? Will Ryker get her? Will she find her mom? Will she choose between Bo & Lucien?

Read it and find out.

I received this as an Advance Reader Copy from Booksprout with the hopes I would like it and review it.

This a wonderful story.

This is a wonderful story. I'm truly enjoying it. I would recommend it to others. I can't give it 5 stars because of the slight editing issues. These same editing issues appeared in book 1 also. Double words, one word right, the other wrong. A word missing from a sentence. It doesn't take away from the overall story because it's only sporadic. However, as a professional published author, I hope you edit this story to perfection because it is wonderful.

Likable characters and plot, poor grammar

I enjoy the overall plot, but I can get easily annoyed with the main character. She succeeds then thinks she can’t do the next task every single time.
I enjoy the Royals too, and I am glad she didn’t destroy relationships in the series. I couldn’t tell where it was going initially. I also now have a favorite for her to end up with.

One more thing is there are a lot of typos or grammatical errors in both the first and second book that make me a little crazy.

An Emotional Review

Having read book 1 was looking forward to reading book 2 and was not disappointed .

The writing evokes your emotions. Some really funny moments but also made me cry.

Awaiting book 3 eagerly plan to join newsletter so can get the prequel. I have a slight sense where book 3 is going but not enough to know that there will be surprises.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An absolutely wonderful story that continues to be filled with drama and intrigue for our main character. The story started in book one which was very enjoyable to read than this -the second book takes off immediately, immersing her right into the thick of things once again. I can’t wait to read the next book. Great storytelling.

I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
