Marching Offsides

Rate this book
College football, hot jocks, and…a band nerd?

Camden is in the marching band, but doesn’t understand football. She plays her music and calls it a day. But when she’s paired with King University’s star quarterback for a class project, she discovers that football might not be all that confusing.

Jackson is the big man on campus and star quarterback. People love him and flock to wherever he is. He doesn’t realize how much he hates it until he meets Camden, a girl that acts like she doesn’t know who he is.

Can two people from different social groups overcome the expectations placed on them to find true love?

This was originally published as part of the Heart Beats Music Anthology, a charity anthology that donated all proceeds to the Mercery Phoenix Trust. The story is the exact same as what was published there, just by itself now.

It was really good! I almost rated it with 4 ⭐️ instead of 3, but I must admit it would have been better without all the unnecessary drama.

Camden is in the marching band. She plays at every football game but still doesn't understand the sport. When she gets paired with Jackson, the school's star quarterback, on an assignment. She learns that despite not understanding football she has no problem watching Jackson on the field. Getting to know him better as they spend time together forces her to realize that she wants to be more than friends. Jackson admits he wants the same thing. He enjoys that Camden wants him for him, not the football star he is. Will their relationship survive all the drama that comes with dating someone high profile? A great story!

Marching Offsides is a quick read college romance about the band girl and the star quarterback. Camden and Jackson are likable characters who get to know each other while partnering on an a class project. When things turn romantic between them, not everyone is happy about it, and Camden's insecurities threaten to ruin their burgeoning relationship.

I liked the characters, especially Jackson. He isn't brash or cocky and he's so into Camden that he's a little nervous around her. Camden feels very genuine, a little shy and unsure of herself, and finding it hard to believe the hottest guy on campus has feelings for her. All in all it's a really sweet romance with a very nice HEA.

3.5 Stars ⭐️

I’m a huge fan of sports romances so I was excited to read this one. Marching Offsides was my first book by A.M. Williams and I really enjoyed it. Jackson and Camden are university students thrown together for a class project. Polar opposites in every way, he’s the star quarterback and she’s the bookish band member but that doesn’t stop the sparks from flying when these two get together. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and get their happily ever after despite the obstacles standing in their way. A great little read. TBR and Enjoy!

Fabulous sports romance that brings two unlikely characters together-Jackson the star quarterback and Camden the band nerd. Jackson sees Camden as a breath of fresh air because of her no nonsense attitude. She doesn’t treat him like the other girls do and he likes that. Camden sees how Jackson is genuine around others and doesn’t let his popularity go to his head. Bullying threatens to derail their budding relationship by bringing up old insecurities. Great happy ending. I love this author and I look forward to her next book!

Jackson is the star quarterback. Camden is a band nerd. They meet when they're assigned to do a project together, and get to know each other better as they work together. Before long they're dating. But Lisa, a bad girl on the dance team, has her sight set on Jackson, and she'll do what she needs to get Camden out of the way. Camden is a smart girl, and Jackson soon realizes that she's just what he needs. They're sweet and steamy together, and the book was wonderful.

Band geek and quarterback jock equals a fun read

Marching Offsides is the college romance story about Camden and Jackson. Let's just say sweet band geek gets paired up with the star quarterback of the football team and they play some beautiful music together.
I enjoyed this story as it is well written, has very likeable characters and a story about two young people who have to decide if they will let other people ruin their relationship and what they really want.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This story is a really good one. About college kids, young love, bullying, consequences and of course friendships and a whole range of other things necessary in a good story. The storyline is good and the characters are well written and thought out. Overall a really good story and one very worthy of the fine four stars I am giving it here.

This was such a sweet romance! The characters are amazing people, the kind you want as friends. There is so much chemistry between Jackson and Camden once they realized they had feelings for each other. Their steamy scenes are pretty hot, and he is just so sweet with each other. This was a very enjoyable read, and is a great addition to my library.

Sweet college romance between the 'jock' and the 'nerd'

This is the first book I've read by the author and I'd happily read more by them. Characters were interesting and well written and the story flowed really well. Nice length as well; not too short, in fact it was a perfect afternoon read. Reasonably low on angst with a small amount of drama before the obligatory HEA.

Jackson and Camden start as friends working on a project but soon realize their attraction is undeniable. What happens when the starting quarterback falls for the band need? Jealousy rears it's ugly, green head.

Great read. I loved the characters and the story line. Bother were well written and realistic.

With College Classes, Band Practice and homework-how is a girl suppose to find time for love? Camden will prove that she can have it all. Reluctantly accepting Jackson’s love was the best decision she could of made even though there are others that would do anything to tear them apart. A love story that proves that you can have it all if the trust is there.

This is the story about the Marching band girl (Camden) and the star quarterback (Jackson)
They really meet when they are partnered on an a class project. The characters are well defined and believable, the chemistry is instant, but not everyone is happy about it. So can the quarterback and the marching girl get their HEA?

This book of A.M. Williams felt flat from the start. The idea was great. It seemed like after the first 2 chapters it was rushed. I have enjoyed reading other books that this author has written. I am hoping the next one will be better.

This was a wonderful book . Camden and Jackson are great. The band nerd and the star Quarterback fell hard for each other. The question is with all the obstacles put in their way, can they find their HEA. I definitely recommend this book

Camden plays in the matching band. Jackson is on the football team. Not exactly the match expected but the one that working on an assignment together helps them find. Unfortunately, haters will hate. But although others don't want them to work out, they do and that makes this a good story.

Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well.
I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!

The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

A.M. Williams did a great job on Marching Offside, the plot was written well. Jackson and Camden were strong characters that may have been on the opposites side but they were made for each other. The connection was strong between them, their chemistry was sexy and sweet. I enjoyed their story, they were great together.
Thanks, A.M. Williams. Good work :)

Tender romance
Good simple romance, tender, between two young adults in college who discover and seduce each other. The story is well written, but simple enough, and cute if not a few people attacking them.

Total opposites have more in common than they think. I love how Jackson actually grew from spending time with Camden but Camden also learned lessons. The unlikely duo form a beautiful bond and I enjoyed reading their journey.

Fast easy read - Small book - A few obstacles - nothing crazy - story isn't overloaded either - Because it is so short the story goes pretty fast, but it is still engaging. So if you want a fast sweet read this is it.

When you give each other a chance magical things happen. They were from different worlds, the popular jock and the unknown band geek. When their paths cross, they discover they are exactly what each other needed. The lines blur between their two worlds and they find love. This was a cute novella.
