‘Effortlessly engaging…a magical must!’ Heat The #1 bestselling author returns for summer! Grab your sun hat, a cool glass of wine, and the only book you need on holiday…
In theory, nothing could be better than a summer spent basking in the French sun. That is, until you add in three teenagers, two love interests, one divorcing couple, and a very unexpected pregnancy.
Admittedly, this isn’t exactly the relaxing holiday Leah Beaumont was hoping for – but it’s the one she’s got. With her sister Michele’s family falling apart at the seams, it’s up to Leah to pick up the pieces and try to hold them all together.
But with a handsome helicopter pilot staying next door, Leah can’t help but think she might have a few distractions of her own to deal with…
A glorious summer read, for you to devour in one sitting – perfect for fans of Katie Fforde, Harriet Evans and Trisha Ashley.

This is not a genre I generally buy or read, and Just for the Summer reminded me why I prefer genres with more substance. It was on offer for free and, having just finished several substantive historical history books, I thought I’d take a chance. The storyline held promise, but became rather convoluted, and I quickly lost patience with both the main character Leah and her selfish, self-absorbed obnoxious sister, Michele. Guess I’m just not a fan of lightweight women’s lit.
3.5 stars. While it’s an easy read and a sweet enough love story, there seemed to be far too many self-absorbed, manipulative people in one story. Those characters were flat, and the main character, Leah, seemed miscast, as though she had one idea of herself as a strong, independent woman, but the reader saw her as a patsy. At least THIS reader did.
This was a nice, light read, perfect for sitting in the sunshine and relaxing. The author did such a great job sucking me into the story that at times I wanted to strangle the main character’s sister. A great read if you want a bit of a romance story.
A birthday gift. Not my style admittedly. Very predictable and the dialogue for the love scenes, hoaky. Not sure that’s an actual adjective but is an apt descriptor.
This book was certainly not what I expected. The cover looks so fresh and pretty, but honestly doesn't seem to have anything whatsoever to do with the story. I had never read anything by this author in the past, and based on the cover, I expected more of a family story, and not so much sexual detail. The characters were unusual and somewhat memorable although not always very likeable.
I found it very difficult to get through the story. The plot overall was interesting but there was so much superfluous detail which made the story long and tedious. I purchased this book through Kobo.
Definitely not the best choice I've made in books, maybe closer to the worst. -shallow, selfish characters -shallow, unrealistic plot -annoying similes and metaphors
Having said that, this isn't a genre I normally gravitate towards. So maybe if frivolous, unrealistic, romance beach reads are your thing, you might like it. Everyone has their own favourites, this just isn't mine!
Loved the characters and the inclusion of the not so perfect events that tend to happen. The author wrote in a way that wasn't judgemental, even though one of the storylines is frowned on in real life. It was done tastefully, and the details were well thought out.
