The very last person I wanted anything from was Officer James Rucker. If there was any option at all, I wouldn’t call him, but I had no choice. I needed a cop.
To my surprise, he came. He helped. He was the guy everyone else knew instead of the @$$ he always was to me.
I didn’t know what to do with that. It was easy to keep him in the box I put him in. To tell myself it didn’t matter how sexy his smile was or how hard my insides clenched when he left with another woman.
No. No. No. I wasn’t going to think of James like that. I couldn’t. I wanted fun in my life, and he was the polar opposite of that.
We weren’t right. We weren’t an option. It didn’t matter if he was starring in my dreams. Or knocking on my door…
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary E Thompson spent most of her childhood wishing she had a few less curves. She hid in the pages of books because her favorite characters never cared what size her clothes were. Now, neither does Mary, and she writes stories that celebrate women like her. Real women who have curves, chase dreams, and find love, because we should all be happy, no matter our dress size. Mary spends her non-writing time with her husband and two kids, watching too much TV, cheering for her hometown football team (Go Bills!), and hiding chocolate from her family.
Falling For His Nemesis - James and Trinity had been butting heads against each other from the moment they met, but this was because of the explosive chemistry between them. Unfortunately, the more they tried to stay away from each other, the more fate kept pulling them back together. They finally acknowledge their feelings for each other, but their path to a happily ever after doesn’t run smoothly.
This is an exciting and touching story, that had me on the edge of my seating in angst, whilst rooting for them to find the happiness together. This is one of those books, that you could read over and over, but never get tired of it.
James is a policeman who accused Trinity of breaking into her own car! Trinity makes jewellery at home, she recently moved to MacKellar Cove. Then she's mugged and James is the one who answers the call. He's really enamoured by her but she's not interested, at least she's trying to be! She starts chatting to someone on the app and finds him great. Who is she chatting to?
Parts of it bored me. There was stuff in the book that was secondary to the romance that I just didn't care about.
And his reaction towards the end was just seriously over-the-top. He's not mature enough to be in a relationship. Way too many issues and I don't see their relationship lasting. You're not supposed to feel that way with a romance novel.
An enjoyable story about a couple - Trinity and James - and what life entails after they meet. It also tells how a community can pull together to change things.
