I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.
If you can enjoy a story without being bothered or being irritated by the style of writing, then these stories are for you. The characters are squeaky clean and all obstacles are overcome with very little effort. Everybody likes everybody else, even the Crow characters seem to be part of the family at times. For me, the writing is juvenile and the character's inner thoughts are repetitive throughout each story. TIn one story the reader even gets a sentence in what a horse thought! I also felt that the author was introducing contemporary standards to the stories when each woman was expected to seek employment of one kind of another even though they seemed very contrived.
The basic story lines are relatively typical of genre but the presentation is below reasonable expectation. As well as needing more work on basic proofreading and elements of craft, all volumes struggle with inconsistency. The characters decide something, ignore it, then decide it again. Contradictions abound. I spent a chunk of the second book waiting for woman to be caught out in lie on her fake name only to finally realize the author just up and changed it instead. Also seems to make little attempt at historical accuracy--stressing repeatedly it was only a black and white photo, assuming women should work and care for the home as the norm, etc. You drive wagons, not "lead" the horses from the seat.
I had great difficulty with all the editing mistakes. From sentences not making sense, misspellings, added words, character names changing after several pages. I am ashamed that a professional author can be okay putting books out like this. The problems were way beyond computer spell check. I won't buy this author again. Story lines were okay but you could guess what was going to happen. Book 2 was the worst.
I just love Amelia’s books. Out of this set of four, I think my favorite would be the 3rd book with Eddie and Fiona. That one had a lot of action in it. I love when the Crowe Indian Tribe is included in the stories. I know I quickly fall in love with the characters in the series, the town and the individual stories. Only problem is that I am left wanting to read the next book in the series. I hate when I reach the final one!
A family grows bigger with each mail order bride. The women find what true salt they are made of and the men are helpless to fall in love. Each book brings the town closer and a true family seems to emerge throughout the series. It's wonderful to read about this new frontier life!
This is a box set of stories about four young men and their mail order brides. It is written by Amelia Rose and she has done an excellent job with the plot and the characters. There is plenty of excitement, some adventure and lots of love in each tale. You will enjoy discovering how each couple find their happily ever after.
I love western mail order bride stories but a box set of continuing the saga, that takes it to the next level. Four wonderful stories featuring strong women, ill prepared for western life but buckled down to reach their full potential. Don't miss a second of the grand adventures.
The series was very good. I liked the way the stories all started. High society women, going to the small town of the west. They all had to overcome barriers, and make a new life. Thief struggles made them better women and wives and mothers. Thank you for a great read.
They have been a joy to read. With unexpected turns in the middle of the book. Clean and wholesome yet entertaining. And a love story I can read with out worrying about the graphic sex. The romance was there. Thank you for your skill in writing.
This box set is an excellent group of plots for a variety of western stories. There is lots of action and I always like when the stories interconnect. It's nice to revisit the previous story lines to see how the families are doing. The plots are rich in detail and well told. A very enjoyable read.
Delightful stories of lives that must change in order to find a future they never new was possible. Each story has its own charm and surprises. Moving seamlessly to the next book and seeing all the characters come together is an added bonus.
To settle the West young men often had to advertise for Mail Order Brides from back East. Most worked out and the couple found love. These five books have all stressed how important sharing the truth makes it easier on both people to enjoy a relationship that lasts. Working together in a give and take situation brings respect to both and a happier relationship.
Audiobook Version Another wonderful collection of stories from this author. I found many of these characters rather fun and interesting. The plot were well written and maintained my interest. Emotional at times and of course plenty of laughs. The narration was very well done. I recommend this set.
I really enjoyed the stories. The characters and descriptions were wonderful. I’ll admit I was not pleased to read a line from a famous book and movie in this book without any reference given at the end to offer credit to the original author. But otherwise quite enjoyable.
Emily and Josh were so very different but both willing to learn, accept the others differences and look at their future. Seemingly impossible hurdles for Emily and she took up the challenge. I enjoy good clean, moral writing, which this certainly is! I recommend these stories.
I loved the way that each bride didn't just travel to the town but had problems on the way or when they arrived in the town. The Author created a separate situation for each bride and the person that ordered them. And had them work out the problems with the help of the other brides and their families. I highly recommend this series.
Amelia Rose weaves plots that are very familiar to me in the 21st century, but tucks them into another time very nearly. I have to say that the stories desperately need edoting
An enjoyable series of mail order brides travelling to Montana in hope of a freer lifestyle. A range of stories with colorful characters and some hair raising adventures that challenge the women venturing alone to the Wild West. Thanks Amelia Rose for a pleasurable read.
Thank you Amelia for writing such a wonderful series. Each book was as enjoyable as the one before. I enjoyed all the main characters very much and hated to see the story end.
I loved reading the stories of the four mail order brides. Amelia Rose was an unknown author to me, but her writing is great. I could picture the setting, and the people of the story. Loved Lucy, Fiona, Martha, and Emily.
I enjoyed the stories but they all need to be edited. There are incorrect pronouns in several places. There are places where the wrong word is used and I had to go back and re read the sentence to figure out what was being said.
Montana Westward Brides: Book 1-4Mail Order Bride's
I really loved this series, Montana Westward Brides Book 1-4 Mail Order Bride's By Amelia Rose . I wouldn't change anything about this series . I recommend Teens and up .
Totally different style of writing then the first rwelve books. It's hard t o believe it's the same author. Some repetition from previous books. I enjoy these books because they're simple reads.
Great stories of Mail Order Bride, beginning with Dr Sam Slater, Gray Jenkins, Eddie , and Sheriff Josh Ryder. All stories were unique and lots of action and romance.
Each bride overcame their own set of problems that led them to their 'happily ever after.' Too many mis-spellings, wrong verb conjugations and plain and simple odd words to give 5 stars
I liked the way this reader took you through each of the brides story. The stories were sweet and clean. I liked each adventure she wrote for each bride. I would recommend these books as well as the author.
I really like these books they are very good. I gave them a 5 star rating because they made me feel like I was right there with them. I loved them all. Very good stories .
Wonderful story with many twists and turns, lots of surprises, excitement, suspense, and love. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys a wonderful story. It's so interesting it's difficult to quit reading until you have finished the entire story. .
Set in the late 1860s to early 1870s Montana. Inconsistencies in the stories and repetition take away from the reading experience. IMO if a character is going to come from the city of Atlanta just a few years after the civil war, that experience would have affected them.
