Patsy is a bookish woman who loves words and has a penchant for dark chocolate sorbet. Since spelling bees in grade school, childhood Scrabble games, right up to her current addiction with Words with Friends she has been known to spell it out, to say it like it is.

Much to her surprise Patsy has written a stack of books that continues to light her passion for the printed page. And nothing pleases her more than to share her faith through laughter and tears and to encourage others to flourish.

A former agoraphobic Patsy never imagined the expansive plans God had in mind for her. She just wanted to make it to her neighborhood grocery store and safely home again. Instead, for the past 35 years she has been traipsing throughout the U.S. and Canada, interspersed with trips to Israel and Africa and she has even spoken at the Pentagon for the Flag Officers Bible Study. Patsy has spoken to millions of women (and men) offering spiritual and emotional hope.

Patsy has written books in several genres including devotional, fiction, children’s, and gift offerings. She is one of the founding speakers at Women of Faith and trains people for the platform.

Patsy is the author of over 35 books best-selling books and currently lives in Franklin TN.

This sweet little gift book is a compilation of short little thoughts from multiple authors. Throughout the book there are uplifting and encouraging scriptures interspersed. I found this book at a thrift store, and it was such a gem! While on the surface it appeared small and a quick read, I recommend really taking your time to read, ponder, reflect and journal. There is so much to be gleaned from reading this book. I plan to pass it along for someone else needing encouragement!

I received this jewel of a book from my daughter as a birthday present a few months past. As I've slowly read through it, I was touched by its insightfulness and inspiration.

The book covers such topics as "God has a Plan B for being there just when you need Him" to "God has a Plan B for true contentment" to "God has a Plan B for avoiding bitterness."

Each sections starts with a quote by such notables as Mother Teresa ("We are not here to be successful, We are here to be faithful."), Ellen Brenneman ("Trust God. Sounds corny, works every time."), St. Francis of Assisi ("It is in giving oneself that one receives."), and Abraham Lincoln ("I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.").

Next follows inspirational thoughts on the topic being covered, sometimes using examples of real people and what they have achieved. As in Thomas Edison and his many failures before success at inventing the electric light bulb, Walt Disney being fired from a newspaper because he lacked ideas, a young Burt Reynolds being told he couldn't act and NBA superstar Michael Jordan once cut from his high school basketball team.

The section then ends with a scripture from the Bible which is appropriate for that topic. Scriptures such as, "The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs." Isaiah 58:11 and "Never tire of doing what is right." 2 Thessalonians 3:13. The last section of the book is "More words from The Word" and contains ten pages of different scriptures from God's Word to provide inspiration and peace to the reader.

I am very grateful to my daughter for presenting me with this little book and I know that I will read from it many more times in the months and years ahead.

We all have those times in life that are like emotional valleys or ravines. This book is the right thing to read at times like that if you find strength in your faith in and relationship with God.

This little book packs a lot of inspiration into its 120-some pages. Because the words of spiritual encouragement come in the form of vignettes, it is an enjoyable bedtime read or something to carry in your purse. Might be a nice addition to your glove compartment since it certainly can impede feelings of road rage.

I was given this book as a gift by two friends for the same occasion. Usually when that happens, I accept that this is something I need if two people who know me so well both share it with me! My hunch was right in this case and I am glad I took the time to enjoy this book.

This is a wonderful short book. But don't think because it is short you won't get much out of it. I read it twice yesterday and got something new out of it each time. This is definitely a book you'll return to again and again. Bonus points for the appropriately placed humour.
