Max tells her cousin she wants to go back to the time of Peter the Great, but instead, she ends up in the middle of the Russian revolution and is captured by Cossacks fighting for the Whites against the Bolsheviks.
The Dane in charge thinks he outsmarted her, but Max only let him capture her. After all, what else was she going to do? She couldn’t hang out in a cold Russian forest, she had to find her contact in that time period and the handsome Dane knew where Ilya was. Count Peter Rosenborg is in Russia to return his cousin to Denmark. But his mission is interrupted when he apprehends a woman who fights hand to hand combat well, but thankfully, not as well as he.
He has many questions but the one foremost is why is she alone in a forest when war wages on all fronts around her? The American woman insists she knows the commander of the White troop he is traveling with. Wary but intrigued, he agrees to tell Ilya about the beautiful, blue-eyed woman.
Historical Romance, the manners and the speech, the feeling of living in the times past. Whether the Heroes be English lords, Scottish Lairds, or Knights of old, the Heroines they fall in love with are independent, beautiful (in the Hero’s eyes), and smart. To me, there’s nothing better than to curl up with a great Historical Romance and let the modern world pass by.
Oh, but Contemporary Romance is just as compelling to me. Even in modern times, I believe we all want, and hope for, a love so surprising, so amazing, that our toes curl just at the mention of his or her name.
And it’s so much fun linking Contemporary characters with Historical characters in Time Travel Romance. Talk about a fish out of water.
Romance is everywhere so let’s not forget Paranormal, Fantasy, or Science Fiction and I want to meet the people who have stories in those genres too.
And… I get to write the stories. How lucky am I?
Please join me on the journey to finding the greatest love story of all time.
Still incoherent details randomly thrown in. Do readers really not care about some of that stuff?
Also why is there always OW drama in these books? Our heroine is absolutely perfect and inspires jealousy from a woman who thinks she deserves the hero. That's been a plotline in all 3 books. Why.
The adventures keep getting better and better. Besides time travel, each story takes place in a different time in history. I love this addition to each one. I can’t wait for the next one.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and the earlier books in the series. Callie has a wonderful way of mixing history with her story telling which I really enjoyed. I look forward reading the rest of the series
I so enjoyed Maxine and Peter's story. The settings are different and respect each time period that is visited. Thank you Callie for another great story. Can't wait to read Garrett's story.
I have enjoyed this book. I was a little disappointed at first because I thought it was a war story but after I got into Max’s and Peter’s story I understood it and look forward to Garrets story.
Another cute novel! This time we follow Max as she gets thrust into the Russian Revolution. In this novel we get a little more in depth look into Max's parents and cousin. I can't wait to read more.
