“He hired me to cut out your heart and bring it to him.” Adriana set her hand on her chest, sickness filling her stomach. “My…heart?” “He wants you dead, and he will stop at nothing. You have to go.” When she hesitated, the assassin roared, “Go!” * An heiress on the run. A heartbroken Amish man, sleep-walking through life. Can true love's kiss break the spell?
After his wife dies and he returns to his Amish community, Dominic feels numb and frozen, like he's under a spell.
When he rescues a woman from an exploding car wreck in a snowstorm, he brings her home to his mother and six younger siblings. They care for her while she sleeps for several days, and when she wakes up in a panic, she pretends to have amnesia.
But waking up is only the beginning of Snow's story.
Snow's real name is Adriana Daniels, and in order to protect herself and her niece from a dangerous relative, she must keep her true identity a secret from Dominic and his family. So, she pretends to have amnesia, hiding out within the Amish community, lying to everyone--especially Dominic.
Dominic's sister Damaris is set on convincing him to court her best friend Margaret so he stays with them in the Amish community, but Dominic’s mother sees how Snow has brought light back into Dominic’s eyes once again, and how she makes him laugh.
As Adriana and Dominic grow closer, she feels more guilty with each passing day about lying, especially after they took her in when she was a stranger.
But time is running out, and Adriana’s niece needs her now more than ever.
Can Adriana trust Dominic with her secret, even if it means he’d risk losing everything to help them?
Though Dominic pulls Snow from the wreckage, Snow is the one who rescues him.
Amish Snow White is a HEA standalone novella in the Amish Fairytale Series.
So this was as sweet as a fairy tale, something straight out of Disney. I must say it was a very pleasant fast read. I really don't know much about the Amish (and I certainly didn't know that a regular person could join the Amish and then be Amish???) except that they still have horses and live very old fashioned. I did read this for a challenge but I truly loved this story. As I said its very sweet.
The plot did follow the classic Snow White in many ways. The one big difference is that Adriana didn't seem to have that rare gift to talk to birds or animals. Wasn't Snow White often surrounded by birds?? Anyway instead she has a young niece named Megan who she has to save from her evil father (who has killed his wife + Megan's mother). Of course Adriana has no proof of that. Then thanks to a car accident she ends up on the Amish farm and meets Dominic.
I have to admit in some ways the characters talk kind of "strange" in here. I don't know if its because the Amish are truly that truthful and super forgiving? I never met any so I can't say. But reading the sentences near the end of the book - it was a very surreal experience. Because I found myself asking if they really talk like that? Very straight forward, super honest. I don't know. But it was testing my belief in the story because I have never experienced anything like that.
And besides having super good characters in here there are some super villains too. There is greed, murder, attempted murder, jealousy. Even some of the oh so innocent Amish show a bit of a dark side. So things are not exactly perfect on that little farm.
But I think its no surprise how this ends. It is a fairy tale. And so it has that fairy tale ending... I think young Megan will love those horses.
I would like to read more of these tales. This one was certainly fun and entertaining.
I liked this novella, it's a beautiful retelling of Snow White. After losing her sister Adriana must face her brother-in-law a violent man who is going to inherit a sister company. Adrianna is rescued by Dominic after a car crash and find refuge in an Amish community. She must find a way to prove her brother-in-law guilty, get the custody of a niece and deal with her growings feelings for Dominic... Adriana showed a lot of courage and she was not afraid to leave her fomer life to embrace a new one with the man of her life.
This was a quick read, and a well done modernized version of Snow White set in Maine and near an Amish community.
I was quite enjoying my little fluff read until I hit the point where "Snow" wakes up, and she locks eyes with Dominic, then literally two pages later they were lovey out of nowhere. I felt like I missed something. I went and checked if I'd missed a page...or twenty. The romance wasn't built at all. It just happened. And isn't that the point of this type of novel? I thought I was reading a romance? But, I didn't get to see how they fell in love?
mmmkay.
As I kept reading, I was entertained by the plot, the tension and the whole 'stakes are getting higher' thing. But in the back of my head I kept thinking, "there's too much here and not enough pages". There was a lot to sift through, and the romance suffered for it the most, but the other emotional hits that the book was tackling felt rushed. This needed to be even just fifty pages longer and fleshed out better, and probably some things taken out for the good of the main story (the love story). It felt like the author couldn't decide if she was writing a romance first, or a thriller, or a family drama. She vacillated between all three and all three plots suffered for it. (she really didn't need to rehash Dominic's sister's hang-ups).
It's a nice story, but not a re-read or even one I could recommend. Which I feel bad about. But, honest reviews and all. It was fun to try it out.
Content: there is physical abuse in this book, told in after-the-fact statements so you don't actually "see" any abuse. Just the effects. There's no language and only chaste kisses without any heat at all really.
Snow White with a modern day twist. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with the mystery , secrets and growing romance. She does a beautiful job describing her scenes and bringing out all the feels in this sweet love story. I loved this story and was hooked from start to finish reading and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Amish Snow White, by Ashley Emma, is book one in the Amish Fairy Tale Series. It is also a great stand alone story. This is a really good book with good messages. Adriana's sister dies in an accident, which Adriana is not convinced is just an accident. Fearing for her niece's life she tries to get her away from her brother-in-law until it becomes evident her life may be in danger. She flees the area and ends up in an Amish community, where she has an accident and gets rescued by Dominic. Dominic is a young widower who has moved back home to his family. He is not ready to move forward with his life, until he gets to know Adriana. I enjoyed reading this book. It is an easy to read story that is easy to get lost in. The characters are well developed, caring people. The story is well written so it is easy to envision what is happening and the surroundings. I especially enjoyed the mystery, suspense and the developing friendships in the story. I received an ARC ebook copy of this story from the author. This is my honest review.
Adriana goes to her sister's home after hearing she has taken a fall and died. Henry her brother in law wants her out of the house and away from her niece Megan. She is to leave immediately and never return. She realizes Henry wants her dead also so she flees. Her brakes fail and she jumps from her car just before it hits a tree and burns. Dominic goes to the crash scene. He is told that she was seen rolling out from her car. Dominic finds her and takes her home with him. When Adriana wakes she is confused about where she is but pretends to have amnesia so she can stay safe. Can she prove her sister was murdered by Henry and he also tried to kill her? Can she get custody of Megan? Get the book and find out. I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write positive reviews. As with any fairy tale, this story ends with a happily ever after following many trials. The nods to Snow White include a woman who was unconscious from a car accident for a while after running from the evil stepbrother who wants to kill her. The Amish man who rescues her comes from a family with seven children whose names all begin with D (is that for dwarves?). I like these words he says to her: “You came into my life and woke me up from a sleep-like trance I didn’t even know I was in. I was numb. I felt like I had no purpose. Then when you woke up, you woke me up. You made me alive again.” The compelling suspenseful tale holds the readers’ interest but the writing could use further polish in places. This is a quick read, so it makes a nice escape when you need a break from your own hectic life. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Ariana felt her sister wasn’t married to a nice man, but her sister denied it and professed that he was a good husband and step-father to her daughter, Megan. But, her sister then died and it was concluded that she fell accidentally off the stairs and her husband had an old will of hers that stated he was heir to all she owned and was guardian to his step-daughter. The long time housekeeper knew there was a new will somewhere on the property. They needed to find it. Henry, Ariana’s brother in law, threw her out of the house. Would she ever be able to prove there was a new will and that her sister was killed by her husband? This read goes through many circumstances to ensure safety of Ariana and Megan. I recommend this wonderful book that reveals God has a plan for both Ariana and Megan.
Adriana wakes up in an Amish house after a car crash, surrounded by a caring and loving family. Being well hidden, she decides to lie to them and pretend being amnesiac. Her plan gets more complicated when she develops feeling for Dominic, her Amish host… This book is filled with strong emotions like grief, guilt, jealousy, connivance, fierce loyalty, and love. These are lived in full force throughout the story as the different characters are battling them. In the end, they all discover that forgiveness and love are the strongest and most valuable attributes by which they want to live. The story is beautiful, though tragic, well written, full of unexpected twists, and a great pleasure to read. Enjoy ☺!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story. In the beginning Adriana finds her sister dead from what is called an accident but she knows was murder. While running from her brother-in-law she ends up crashing her car in an Amish community. She stays there pretending not to know who she is but in reality taking the time to prove her sister did not have an accident. But along with her hunt for the truth she ended up falling in love. Not just with Dominic but with his family, the Amish community as a whole and an entirely different way of life! All the while there are twists and turns that make this story hard to put down. I was always eager to find out what happened next, down to the very end. This is a great book about loss, need to find the truth and in the end, love!
This was my second book by Ashley Emma, it was not as good as the first one I read, the story was not believable in a sense that the main characters relationship didn't develop slowly it was just all of a sudden they were in love without really knowing much about each other. I think the plot of the story was a good one but the author's rush to wrap up the story left so much out, I would have liked to see some character development especially from a relationship stand point. This felt like more of a short story than a book, it was approximately 100 pages, just too short to be the story it could have been. It felt rushed and incomplete even though things were wrapped up at the end. I look forward to reading more from Ashley Emma I just didn't enjoy this one as much as the first.
Amish Snow White from Ashley Emma. Is a very exciting story, and it will keep you fascinated until the end. Adriana has to flee for her life after her sister was presumably murdered by her brother-in-law. On her flight, she has a car accident and is saved by Dominique an Amishe man. Adriana is very afraid that her brother-in-law finds out that she is still alive and pretends that she has lost her memory. Not everyone is happy that one that Adriana stays with the Amish, especially Dominique's sister makes it very difficult for her. A breathtakingly moving story, full of love and compassion. A nice Christian story to read
This was a sweet romance that was a modern twist on Snow White.
The characters were decent and likable, but ultimately I felt like there wasn't a whole lot to the story that mirrored Snow White. Usually with fairy tale retellings there are a number of parallels. In this one there was just that her life was at stake and she called herself Snow.
All in all, cute romance and whatnot, but I was hoping for more parallels to the fairy tale that inspired it. Give me poisoned apples dammit!
Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
Adriana's sister Jordan is dead from a fall down the stairs. It was ruled an accident but Adriana suspects murder. There was also an attempt on Adriana's life and she escapes to an Amish community where she meets Dominic an amish man who left the amish for a short period of time and has returned. During his time away he was a police officer. Will he help Adriana solve the mystery of Jordan's death? Will they fall in love? Will Dominic once again leave the amish? This is a short story and a real page turner. I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Adriana return to Maine only to find her sister had passed over but she felt Jordan somehow was being abused by her husband... Strange things began to happen and Adriana had to find the answer. Adriana ended recovering from an accident at an Amish families home and from there things became so clear to her as to how her sister died. Ashley writes great mystery books and merges both English ers and Amish in her suspense full stories. I'll be looking forward to her next book.
This was an interesting story. It was about an Amish man going to a car wreck, that was burning. He looked for a person , but finally heard someone moan. He went down into the ditch and lifted her out. She was in unconscious , and bleeding from her forehead and abdomen. Her name was Adrianna, but she pretended that she did not know her name, after she finally regained consciousness. She was fearful, for her brother-in-law had tried to kill her, var accident making the second time.
Ashley Emma give us the perfect fairytale in Amish Snow White.
This is my first Ashley Emma book, but will no be my last. It holds all the elements of mystery and suspense, and she packs an unbelievable amount of story in just 11 chapters.
A beautiful young English woman flees for her life into Amish country and is rescued by a broken-hearted Amish man who is willing to help her solve the mystery of her sister’s death and help her reclaim her life.
This is a 5-star must read. It came with my Amazon Prime Reading, and so glad it did.
Mixed with soaring emotions and fears Adriana (Snow) is running from an assassin when another attempt on her life caused her to wreck. She is rescued by the Amish man Dominic who has ghost, past and present. They both are hiding secrets as Adriana tries to fake amnesia and Dominic keeps past pain buried. Hiding in the Amish community Adriana begins to have feelings for Dominic, but Adriana's walls begin to crumble as the Amish community is talking about the Englisher.
This book was just what I needed! I did not read the description and instead chose to go into it blindly. All I knew was that it was inspired by Snow White. Let me tell you: It did not disappoint! It was a quick, light read, but it delivered quite an emotional punch. I could not put this book down; I was absolutely hooked. I loved the overarching themes of love, forgiveness, and redemption, too.
It was my first Amish fiction, and I’m so glad I picked it up! I’ll definitely read the rest of this series along with Ashley Emma’s other collections!
Ashley Emma is a new author to me. I enjoyed reading this story of an Englisher falling in love with an Amish man. Meeting under tragic circumstances, they fell in love. When he helped her get her niece from under the care of her brother in law, his whole family was so thankful that they were going to be a part of the Amish family. Great characters, unique situations sprinkled with God's love and forgiveness makes this a story I can recommend!
He's back in the Amish community he grew up in, living a life devoid of joy except that of his family. She's on the rum from the man who killed her sister and has tried twice to kill her. When the severed brakes in her car cause a terrible accident, she's afraid the killer will find her! Can God use this bad man's evil for good? You won't want to miss out on this exciting tale.
I was given an ARC copy and once again Ashley has another great book. I had a hard time putting it down once I started it. Full of mystery and also romance, it was a perfect blend of both. My favorite character was Dominics mother, Constance.. she was such a dear and full of love, even when she was lied to.. she reminded me of my mother in law.. I would recommend this book to everyone...
this is a page turning story, she is on the run and wrecks, he finds her and takes her home then they find out someone is after her , if you like suspense stories and Amish you will want to read the book it is well written i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review. very good
Wow-what a story. Not what I expected her sister dead, attempts on her life, and ending up in an Amish community with an ex-cop (who is Amish) but wow what a story. I cannot say I like Damaris, she needs to leave things alone she is going to cause trouble I just know it. The book ended well and I enjoyed reading it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Easy read, nicely written. Helps the reader understand a bit of Amish culture as well. A sweet clean romance with light references to religion. Nothing too scary but enough of a mystery to keep you wondering how it will turn out. I read many genres and recently started reading sweet Amish romance and this is a good one.
Snow and Dominic both face the loss of those dear to them, along with serious challenges to their faith
Family, love and loyalty despite danger and betrayals has a chance to bring them a forever. They must learn to trust God, themselves and some of those who hurt them in order to be able to fight, heal, grow and move on
Another great book by Ashley Emma. This story was about deceit, lying and murder. Adrianna was mad at her brother in law for killing her sister and keeping her niece away from her. He tried to kill Adrianna different times only to fail. This book is well worth reading and enjoying. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I love Ashley Emma books and this one was no exception. I love the interaction between the female and male leads, and especially the HEA. Ms. Emma has a way of spinning Amish tales into something beautiful, which survives the ugliness in the surrounding world. I highly recommend Amish Snow White. I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review.
