Picture this:

You pack your bags. Move to Paris. Fall in love.

A dream, right?

Wrong.

Especially when you find out your Mr. Right is actually married. With kids. Don't even mention the white picket fence.

Heartbroken in the City of Love, the last person Elizabeth Hastings expects to lend her a shoulder to cry on is her brother's best friend…

Spencer Tate is opening up his first gym in London when a frantic call from his best friend sends him to Paris to check on Sebastian's baby sister.

If he's lucky he can stop in for a minute and be back in London the next day. Easy peasy.

Except the dorky bookworm he remembers is now all grown up, with dangerous curves, lips just made for kissing and eyes he could get lost in…

Spencer. Is. Screwed.

You'll love this steamy, brother's best friend romance because who doesn't enjoy croissants, sexy gym junkies and making out in front of the Eiffel Tower?

Isn’t it a great thing when a pretty cover catches your eye and the blurb sparks your interest, and then oh my god the story actually lives up them? Well, bookish peeps, that’s exactly what I got with Holding Out for Paris by Gabrielle Ashton.

I loved Holding Out for Paris. It‘s an older brother’s best friend romance that’s equal parts sweet and steamy. I started reading this book swearing I was going to pace myself and only read a few chapters at a time. Impossible! Once I started I was sucked into the story and I didn’t come up for air for hours. Lizzy and Spencer were so cute and I plain ol’ loved them. Their chemistry is palpable, the story was outstanding because I kept being surprised, and the writing was great. How is this even a debut novel?

Gabrielle Ashton knocked it Out of the park with Holding Out for Paris. Now I’m so excited for the next standalone in this series! Steamy, sweet, and captivating. 5 stars.

💠
This is a brothers best friend trope, but it isn’t the typical plot. I am always amazed when an author, especially a debut author takes something that has been written about time and time again, and yet is still able to make it new and unique.
💠
When Elizabeth is at her lowest point after a man crushed her, her brother Sebastian calls his Best Friend Spencer to come check in on her. Little did Spencer know that his life was about to change. Elizabeth is all grown up since the last time he saw her, she is smart, witty, and totally unexpected. Lizzie always had a crush on Spencer, I mean his job is to work out🤤. She wasn’t expecting this connection with him, this comfort, this deeper friendship.
💠
I fell in love with Spencer. Spencer who shows his feelings through actions, though not always with his words. This man is swoon worthy. There were times where I out loud sighed hard, and awwed over him.
💠
The thing I really liked about this book, is that most of the relationship ‘faults’ were not just Spencers. There are so many stories where the girls are ‘perfect’, that the fights or angst is over something stupid the guy does. However, in this book, it was Beths fault. Poor conflicted Beth. Beth who doesn’t know what she had until it was gone. Beth who has to decide what she wants and is it worth fighting for.
💠
There were parts of the story where I felt a physical ache, good and bad. It is funny, swoony, cute, and steamy.
💠
It is a realistic book, in the sense it would follow a real relationship, which is part of why I think I felt so much. My only down side is that sometimes I felt it needed to move a pinch faster. However, looking back, it was during the slower times where Spencer and Beths relationship really came together.
💠
Enjoy this sweet contemporary debut romance, set in the city of Love. May you have a relationship like Spencer and Beth. Someone who just gets you, who sees you, and who love loves you regardless of your faults. 💠

Brilliant debut!

OH. MY. GOD. This book. I can't even begin to describe it. Lizzie and Spencer were explosive and hot and sweet and everything else you could possibly want in a romance novel rolled into one. I devoured this book in only a few hours and I seriously can't say enough good things about it.

I felt like I was in Paris.
The way Gabrielle described everything I felt the love she has for the city through every page. Spencer and Lizzie's story was cute, sweet with steam AF scenes. You gotta love a sweet boy with a filthy mouth. After Lizzie's e boyfriend turns to be a douche. Our girl gets drunk and ends up skyping with her very overprotective but HOT brothers. Since they can't get to her Sebastian one of her hot bros sends his best friend to check in on her.
Spencer would do anything for his best friend even if it means checking in on Lizzie who should be like a little sister to him.
But when he sees her again he's like... WHOA
Sparks fly, one thing leads to another next thing you have an epic love story.
Holding Out For Paris was a fantastic debut for Gabrielle Ashton. I will be back for more ♥

Gabrielle Ashton's debut novel is very promising. This sweet and touching romance set in the city of love could not have been a better writing start for the author.

It is the perfect escape to Paris (and the cheapest way to travel there btw). The words flow. The story is easily readable and pleasant. The characters are authentic and relatable. Spencer is the perfect gentleman and every woman can find a small part of herself in Lizzy's persona. Although I am 100% team Spencer. I can't help it. The man stole my heart right from the beginning while Lizzy played with it.

What could I say more than...I'm hoping out for the next book in the series (pun very much intended).

I loved this book! So many emotions.

I could not imagine being in love with someone to find out they are married and have kids.

I love Elizabeth so much, and her bestie Sophia is FANTASTIC. They have great dialogue and a fantastic friendship.

The heat between Elizabeth and Spencer is EVERYTHING. There is so much leading up to that first kiss that you are like "KISS ALREADY!"

But it's timed out perfectly.

I laughed I cried I want more! lol

but seriously if you love a good brothers best friend romance this book is for you.

I loved Lizzie and Spencer’s story! With three older successful brothers Lizzie feels pressured to become a successful writer like she wanted to be, or so she thought, moves to Paris in the hope of ending the writing rut she’s found herself in. After having her heart crushed and a video call from Sebastian asked Spence, his best friend, to make side trip to check on her bringing up feelings even Spencer didn’t know he had for her. I laughed, and cried a little along the way. Absolutely enjoyed this book!!

I received a copy from the Author and wanted to leave my honest review!

Brilliant Contemporary Romance

Wow what a Absolutely Amazing novel. Elizabeth moves to paris as a aspiring writer, she wants to experience what all amazing writer's do in the city of love and dreams. Elizabeth is a huge book lover. She gets her heart broken by a man. Spencer her older brother's best friend shows up in paris as a favor for her brother Seb. Soon sparks fly and the chemistry sizzles between them. Spencer trys and fights his feeling for his best friend's little sister because of Bro code. Can they keep this buding romance a secret for long? Does Bro code still stand if you fall for your best mates little sister? I was hooked first few chapter's in, I couldn't put the book down till I finished the whole novel. I am looking forward to more amazing reads by Ms. Gabrielle Ashton. Hopefully we'll see these characters in her future novel's. This is a Must Read.

This is a fantastic debut from Gabrielle Ashton! Elizabeth Hastings has crushed on Spencer Tate, her brother's best friend, since she was a teenager. So when he turns up in Paris, where she's been living, she can't believe it. She's just found out her swarthy French lover happens to have a family and she's nursing a broken heart - but Spencer heals it. She comes to love the time they spend together while he sources a new location for his rapidly growing international gym chain.

But when Lizzie finds out why Spencer is really in Paris, she's devastated. Feeling betrayed again, she shuts him out... but while she wasn't looking, Spencer managed to find his way into her heart. When he kisses her, she can't resist him. However, she makes it clear she just wants to keep it casual, and when he agrees they hang out in Paris while she plays tourist guide, with sex as an added bonus.

When her brother finds out what's going on, though, matters of the heart become difficult for Lizzie. Not helping is the sudden reappearance of her ex. Torn between two men, can Lizzie wake up and figure out who her heart really belongs to before it's too late?

Spencer Tate is such a great book boyfriend. He's gorgeous and thoughtful and caring. I loved Lizzie's kind heart and her love for Paris. She adores teaching her kids and I love that her nose is always stuck in a book. I did want to smack her in a few places, though, but she did make up for it in the end.

It's clear that the author knows the city of Paris very well, because her descriptions are so authentic it's like I'm wandering around Paris again myself. It certainly made me want to hop on the first plane there! I adored reading Spencer and Lizzie's romance and watching it unfold. It was incredibly romantic and heartwarming. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what's next.

I'm in awe that Holding Out For Paris is Gabrielle Ashton's debut book, as I would have never guessed it on my own. It's the story of Elizabeth Hastings, who moved to Paris, fell in love with who she thought was Mr. Right, but found out was Mr. Married with kids, and was left heartbroken alone in the City of Love. But things started to look up when she runs into her brother's best friend, Spencer Tate, a man that she's always crushed on, who lets her cry on his shoulder. Spencer shows up in Paris when his best friend calls him asking for a favor, to check on his baby sister, so he says yes, thinks he'll check on her, and be in London the following day. Little did he suspect that little bookworm Lizzie would grow up so hot, and he is attracted to big time. This story hooked me from the very beginning, and I didn't want to put it down for anything. Ms. Ashton's gift of description had me feeling like I was strolling along with these characters in Paris, and I didn't want to land back in Oklahoma at the end of the book. Lizzie & Spencer had great chemistry, with sparks flying in all directions, but there was a push & pull to it with some f-bomb worthy twists. And the cast of secondaries definitely added to the story, like Sophia, who needs her own story (hint hint). I'm super excited about this author, and CANNOT WAIT for more of her stories in the future! If you want to find out how it all pans out, one click this fantastic read that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was an incredibly sweet read. I was pleasantly surprised with the debut author. She captured my attention from page one and sucked me into this Parisian affair. From the cover (absolutely breathtaking) to the plot... everything drew me in.

Elizabeth Hastings moved to Paris to experience the romance in life and to become an amazing writer (her dream). While in Paris she experiences the romance and believes she has found her one but it’s short loved and Lizzie is crushed. Her brothers are devastated because they are continents away and they want to help their sister so they send in Spencer Tate (Best friend to her older brother Sebastian). Spencer remembers Lizzie as this awkward bookish gangly teen and is instantly blown away at how gorgeous she is. He is flabbergasted at the insane lust he feels whenever he is around her. Lizzie has just experienced a bad break up and here she is feeling things she shouldn’t already be feeling for her brothers best friend. They have insane chemistry and although anything between them is forbidden, they can’t contain their attraction any longer.

Spencer was so darn sweet. I fell in-love with him. I understand why Lizzie fantasized about him constantly. There was no major drama in this book and that was refreshing. The story was not dragged on. I love older brothers best friend trope and this book did not disappoint in that regard. I am already so excited for Sebastian’s book. I can’t wait.

Gabrielle Ashton, I have become a huge fan of yours! Beautiful debut!!!

This is 100% the best debut novel I’ve ever read. In Holding Out For Paris we follow Elizabeth and Spencer. Elizabeth is a kind, sweet, naive woman who is a big bookworm and is living in Paris living out her dream to be a writer. Spencer is successful, sweet, dominant, loyal and down to earth guy who owns his own string of fitness gyms around the world. When Elizabeth’s brother finds out that she is heartbroken over a guy she met in Paris, he requested that Spencer go check on her to make sure she okay. It definitely comes as a surprise to both Elizabeth and Spencer that they haven't already been in love before this, having only been one degree of separation from each other.

I absolutely loved Elizabeth and Spencer’s dynamic. They fit and worked so well together. I knew at some point that everything was going to blow up in their faces and I hoped that it wouldn’t change their relationship. By the second half of the book, I sped through it to see what the ending was going to be. I loved the way it was written, Gabrielle Ashton really knows how to create a great set of main and side characters. Overall impressed with the flow of the story, character development, and plot. I think that this is a perfect summer read, especially for a day on the beach or by the pool. I’m giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars!

Thank you to Give Me Books PR and Gabrielle Ashton for giving me a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

5 absolutely amazing stars for Holding Out for Paris by Gabrielle Ashton. This is book one in the Holding Out Series. This is also the debut novel for Ashton and let me just say she came out with a doozie.
Elizabeth is in Paris to experience what the great writers experienced. She wants to become a great writer, to be as great as her brothers are at what they do. She recently had her heart broken in one of the worst ways. Spencer is in London opening up a new gym there, when he gets a call from his best friend needing help. Seb needs him to go see Elizabeth and make sure she is ok. Spencer is not expecting to see the beauty that Elizabeth has become. He is instantly attracted to her but knows it can not happen .
This book is a great my brother’s best friend romance. Instantly the blub caught my attention and I could not wait to get started reading. I read it in a few hours. It is a fun read, that is filled with laughs, a few tears and a lot of romance. For this being a debut novel from Ashton, it is extremely well written and has a great story line. I am now a fan and I am looking forward to reading more from her. Also lets talk about this cover, It is stunning. I love the models on the cover and they actually look like the characters in the book. I am now a big fan and cant wait for the next book by this author to come out.

Lizzie is living the dream. A great lover of books, she's in Paris as an aspiring author. When she's not tutoring, she spends her time reading around Paris' many cozy cafes. Until she discovers the love of her life has been lying to her and her world collapses. Worrying for his sister's well-being, her brother Sebastian sends his best friend Spencer to check on her. Lizzie had a crush on him when she was younger, but crushes fade in time, don't they?

I really liked Lizzie, she's strong and assertive, and she's a bookworm, which gives her best friend status in my book. Spencer is a genuinely good guy and while he's never had a serious girlfriend, he knows how to treat women. It doesn't hurt that he's very easy on the eyes. I really like these two together, their chemistry is off the charts.

Ashton writes some great characters, and I really liked Lizzie's roommate, Sophia. (I would love to see her get her own book.) She has a great personality, she's fun, and tell's it like it is. Especially when it comes to Amaury, who I of course, absolutely hate. The author did a great job of making him a sleazy guy. This is Ms. Ashton's premier novel, and she has done a superb job. She's an excellent storyteller and definitely an author to watch for. Very well done!

Holding Out for Paris was such a fun read! This book is a contemporary romance, as well as a best friend’s little sister/brother’s best friend romance. The blurb caught my attention, the first couple of chapters hooked me, and I could not put this book down!

Spencer was what I expect in a hero: strong, successful, and handsome. However, what I truly admired about him the most was his loyalty and his down to earth attitude. Did I mention he is good at big, romantic gestures? He was practically perfect in every way.

Elizabeth is creative and filled with big dreams. She wants to live in Paris and become a successful writer like so many of the great writers she loves. I definitely related to her love of books! She is a bit naive and oblivious to reality at times though, probably because she has led a fairly sheltered life. Nevertheless, despite her faults, I genuinely liked her.

The plot was interesting and unique. At one point I really thought I knew what was going to happen next. I was wrong, and I enjoyed being surprised by the outcome.

This is my first book by Gabrielle Ashton. It is book one in the Holding Our For series and is a standalone. I look forward to seeing what the author publishes next.

Holding out for Paris debut novel for Gabrielle Ashton and oh boy what a first book!!
It is written in third person and let me tell you, I usually struggle to read third person it can feel disconnected for me.. That DID NOT happen here. Right from the very first page I was sucked into this brilliant world. I didn't even notice it was written in a way I don't usually don't read. Now that is saying something!
I absolutely loved every single moment of this book. I had so many emotions..I had very strong words in my head with Miss Elizabeth but we are friends again lol. Spencer *sigh* oh my he is.. (insert heart eyes) I absolutely loved him.
Every character was well developed and I can not wait to see more of them in future stories.
I adored this book! Gabrielle has written a captivating book that transports you to Paris, makes you fall in love and gives you the most beautiful HEA ever!

Wow, If you want a HEA that you cry over, here it is! When I received this, the author was new to me, in my excitement, I didn't ask if it was her first, but I'm hooked! I love everything, the fact that the girl is wealthy, lives normal, realizes her dream of writing is a disaster, falls for wrong guy, REBOUND sex! Yes! Until it's more than a rebound! Huge 5* The proposal is so thoughtful and romantic, I gushed! Great job!

Elizabeth/Lizzie/Beth and Spencer had an interesting relationship. Lizzie as the younger sister of Spencer's best friend lusted after him for years. Spencer, is realizing that adult Lizzie is worth lusting over right now!

The premise behind them reuniting in Paris was sweet. I loved their growing friendship and how it started evolving into something, until it didn't. Remember that best friend's sister thing? Yep, it was a thing. Granted, the issue I had with this book was more with Lizzie than Spencer. To be honest, I LOVED Spencer, even with his fear of falling for someone that was off limits. Lizzie just acted childish at times and I didn't care for her compared to Spencer. He was the magic in this love story!

There is a super sweet grand gesture in this book and it is a super great read! I was able to listen to this via narration and enjoyed both narrators!

Note: I received a review copy of this title courtesy of the audiobook publisher, Tantor.

Sweet and funny

Holding Out for Paris is the first book I’ve read by Gabrielle Ashton, and it will not be my last. I enjoyed this story of Lizzie and Spencer, it's a cute friend to lovers story. Spencer is called by Lizzie’s brother to have him visit her after she’s in a breakup to check on her and make sure she’s alright. The only problem is she’s not the little sister Spencer remembered. Lizzie spends time with him and finds there’s more to Paris when you're looking at it through someone else’s eyes. Spencer finds her smart and sexy and may find more than he’s looking for. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book called Holding Out for Harper.

Spencer and Lizzie

Holding out for Paris is a great read. Spencer and Lizzie have a wonderful story. Spencer is checking on Lizzie after her brother Spencer’s best friend calls and asked him to check on her for him. Lizzie is suffering from a broken heart and needs a rebound guy. Will Spencer be that rebound guy or since she is his best friends sister will he not mess with her? I definitely recommend this book it is a great story and you will not be disappointed. Make sure you one click.

The forbidden brother's best friend story, but written very well. Even though she come across as very naive, I liked Elizabeth's character and her unrealistic expectations. Enter Spencer, her brother's best friend who was asked by her brother to check on Elizabeth because he knows something is wrong with her. Yes, you guessed it, they fall in love. However, there are a couple wrinkles that try to tear them apart, and it looks like that might happen permanently. We learn, though, that Elizabeth is not all romantic fantasy.
