Princess Kinsey has been given four Alpha slaves, and she must choose one to impregnate her.
Aubrey, a She-Alpha, was sold into slavery at an early age due to her misunderstood "degenerate" nature. Trapped in the Tharnstone Castle, Aubrey has a chance to win her freedom, if she can show her Alpha's worthiness and be chosen to impregnate the princess. But when she learns the Alpha will be forbidden to see the child, she considers the real cost of freedom.
Kinsey will one day be the Omega queen of her father's kingdom, but first she must provide an heir for the House of Wymarc. All she must do is pick an Alpha, despite her aversion towards them. But she soon discovers there's more to some Alphas, than the volatile, dull beasts she's used to.
Now, the choice isn't so simple.

Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.
When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

3.75 Stars. This was pretty H. O. T.! I do have to start with a bit of a content warning. This book will not be for everyone. This is F/F Omegaverse that includes G!P content which means “girl penis”(I hate this term but it is what it is). There is some controversy if this really is F/F or not, but it really is something that has to be decided by each individual reader. If you would like a little more info Luther’s website has a good write-up explaining more. https://lexaluthor.com/2020/01/20/so-...
This is a fantasy erotic-romance. The feel of the story reminded me a little of The Lily and the Crown. Except in this book there is no morally gray character who’s a bit of a psychopath and this is fantasy not sci-fi. In this world the current King has enslaved many Alpha’s. Either they were against him in the last war or they were sold to pay off debts. The King wants his daughter to become pregnant to continue the bloodline for the Kingdom. If she were to marry a free Alpha, he would take the throne instead, meaning the Kingdom would not stay in family control. So the search for the best enslaved Alpha’s begins which includes a rare She-Alpha. Will the Princess be able to do what the King wants or will her feelings for her chosen Alpha get in the way?
This is the second book I have read by Luthor. I enjoyed it and it was steamy as all hell, but I do have to be honest that I did not enjoy it as much as the first book in her Alpha God series. I was really impressed with how good the storyline was in Dancing in the Darkness. That book was hella steamy too, but it had a great balance between steamy sex and good plot. I felt like this book was really just hot sex with some, but not a lot of story. I would more put erotic or the erotic-romance tag on this which is fine. It is just that I know that Luthor can write really well so I was hoping for a little more story.
I still very much enjoyed this and would highly suggest not reading this in public or on a work break. I think fans of Luthor are going to be happy with this book. If you are new to Luthor and want to give F/F Omegaverse a try, I think I would suggest Dancing in the Darkness as a first book to try over this one, but there is no wrong choice.
Dec2021 5 Stars (audible version) Still a great story made even better by the incredible Alexandria Wilde (if you know, you know). I have my fingers crossed that Luthor gets Ms Wilde to narrate the Alpha God series. (oh please, please, please!)
July2020 4 Stars - ebook version - if you are into f/f g!p - Lexa Luthor is pretty much the only game in town..thank god she knows how to write!
This story was good, could easily turn into a series but I am not sure if that is what is going happen. There is no cliff hanger but lots more story available if the author was interested in continuing. I think the Alpha God series is slightly better.
What you are getting into is here is alpha/omega, g!p (google it) fated lovers, mating, pheromone attraction kind deal with a HEA. If that is interesting to you, then you will probably like this. If not then, give it a pass cuz it's probably not to everyone's taste. About the middle of the book it gets VERY explicit. You've been warned. :) however.. There is plenty of build up that you care about both characters and are rooting for them and their sexy-times. Its not just smut for smuts sake.
Bottom line, I liked it. If you find the idea intriguing you should totally check it out, I won't tell anyone. ;)
So, I wanted to dip my toes into Omegaverse….. As “Of iron and gold” is the most recent standalone release of Luthor I decided to start there. I didn’t really know what to expect, but this is steamy stuff! To get more info on Omegaverse and G!p (girl penis) content (of which there is a lot), Luthor gives some good info in her blog. This will not be to everyone’s liking, so have a look at this first and decide for yourself if this is for you.
The story is set in a fantasy world resembling the middle ages, with warring kingdoms and slavery. Kinsey is an Omega Princess and first in line to the throne. She has no wish to marry, which would result in transfer of her power to rule the kingdom to the Alpha she marries. In fact, she dislikes Alpha’s in general and thinks of them as brute animals. Her father the king agrees to her not marrying, but stipulates that she has to produce an heir. The only way to get pregnant without the Alpha being able to claim the child and throne is by being impregnated by a slave Alpha, so the best Alpha slaves are gathered (including a rare She-Alpha) and she has to choose one. The Alpha is promised freedom after impregnating the princess. However, as Kinsey gets to know the She-Alpha better she realizes that she might have to adjust her views on Alpha’s and the simple mission to get pregnant and continue her life towards the throne may not be so simple anymore.
The story of a prisoner trying to earn the favors of a Princess in turn for freedom, followed by the princess falling for the prisoner is not the most original and the book is rather straightforward. However, placing this book in the erotica (and romance) category, that is where it delivers. The contents are so very explicit and hot, definitely not safe for work, or any other public place :-) Additionally, I thought the characters were nicely written, both characters are strong, but have their own fears and insecurities, and obviously they have very good chemistry together. So, even though I would have liked to have a bit more depth to the storyline, this was a good and very steamy read. 3.75 stars.
As soon as I finished this audiobook I rushed to ask friends if they'd listened to it and when they said they had and that it was HOT, I asked them why the heck they didn't make me listen to it sooner! LOL
WOW. I had very little idea what to expect going into this. And while I knew that this F/F Omegaverse novel included a She-Alpha with a penis, I had no idea how that would play out or what kind of character she would be. Or how I would feel about it, really. This comes from a woman who generally seeks out Femme/Femme novels. But when I heard Alexandria Wilde was narrating the audiobook, I knew it was time to jump in and see what it's all about.
And let me tell you - HOT doesn't begin to describe this erotic romance. And in the voice of Alexandria Wilde? OOF, OOF and OOF some more. I found this even sexier than erotica because there is a real love story behind it. Feelings. And now I'm in and want more. While I'm going on and on about how sexy it is, It really is quite a traditional romance, in many ways with two really strong mains. It just has one character that has unique physical characteristics. Like an Amazon woman, but with extra equipment.
Since this is considered a prequel, will there be more of Aubrey and Kinsey? I hope so. Regardless, Luthor has made a fan of me with this one and I'm looking forward to whatever it is she has in store.
Of Iron And Gold was my first Omegaverse and my first Lexa Luthor story so I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. It resembles the Futa genre where the women have equipment and impregnation seems to be the key element, but there are also differences. I’m glad Lex Kent pointed toward the author’s blog, where a few things around Omegaverse were explained (thanks, Lex). If you’re curious, go here: https://lexaluthor.com/2020/01/20/so-...
The author digs into the essence of Omegaverse as a trope and one of the core elements that makes it Omegaverse. In the trope the Alpha and Omega are animal-like, which includes fulfilling the need to reproduce (this need varies in degree according to the author). For an Alpha that means impregnating, knotting, and marking the Omega, who has an ingrained need to have offspring with an Alpha. It sounds totally archaic and even sexist. Maybe so! But it’s what makes the trope. And for the Alpha, they (usually) need a penis to be able to impregnate, knot, and (scent) mark an Omega.
There was a lot of sniffing the pheromones, rumbling, huffing, growling, neck biting, posturing, getting into heat, rutting, all very doggy like. It still evokes a chuckle here and there, but overall I went with the flow. The writing was pretty good and the story was entertaining for what it was. Don’t expect enormous plot twists. I might want to read Luthor’s other Omegaverse series as well at some point.
The warning has gone out in various reviews already, be aware there is meat in this sandwich.
So yeah, I didn’t come for the plot but for the narration done by Alexandria Wilde (Abby when she reads smut). Yes! And thank you!! So when free audio book codes where offered I grabbed my chance.
f/f Omegaverse, so it’s g!p
Themes: Female Alpha, degenerate, Omega princess, sold into slavery by her own father, a contest for a chance to sire offspring, freedom, expect plenty of heat!
This is a great title for a great book. Of Iron and Gold is the first stand-alone (earlier books are in a series) F/F Omegaverse fantasy romance written by Lexa Luthor. It is wonderful and burning hot read that I didn't want to put on the nightstand to go to sleep.
Let's start with the cover: me thinks it is yummy. A great design by May Dawney and perfectly fitting to the story. The setting of this story is in my alley. It has a medieval kind of setting with a kingdom, a great princess (Kinsey), a castle, and an underdog named Aubrey. I loved both characters and the way they were portrayed.
This was my first read where I had the full alpha-omega dynamics. In other books by Luthor, the alpha's love interest is of a different race (human) and therefor the dynamics are different. I really enjoyed the dynamics in this book between the alpha-slave and the omega-princess. There was destiny in there and when coupled a kind of fierceness I always enjoy. Kind of like you always read in the werewolf novels.
A big part of why I love books by Luthor is because she satisfies my dirty mind with great erotic scenes but makes sure the book is about more than that. This book also has a good storyline and good world-building. The movie theatre in my head had no problem seeing the scenery in my mind's eye.
Looking closer at the erotic scenes in this book I can tell you that Luthor made a weird and awkward situation into a great one. Warning beforehand: keep your spouse within reach or make sure you can cool off after reading. Up until chapter six, you can read it in public. After that, I would advise a little more privacy. That the burning part of the romance starts after chapter six would presume it to be a medium burn. But the feelings and brooding beforehand are just lovely.
To top it all off this book has a HEA. And although the story is finished, I still think there could be a second book in there ;)
This is my first time reading a published F/F Omegaverse book, which I only predominantly see in fan fiction. So far, Luthor is the only F/F author I know who writes for this genre, and I appreciate her putting it out there for F/F readers who are unfamiliar with it.
Like what others already said, this genre isn't for everyone. I suggest googling Omegaverse (or A/B/O) and g!p first if these terms are new to you.
There were lots of explicit scenes in this book, and they were pretty hot. The only reason I'm taking off 1 star is because I'm the sort of reader who needs a bit more romance to enjoy all those steamy scenes. Majority of the book took place only about a week or so, but there was enough chemistry between the MCs for me to root for them.
Like always, I appreciate amusing characters, so I loved the good chuckle I got from Agnes teasing her sister, Kinsey. I wish there were more of it.
I like Luthor's writing style. It got me looking forward to read her Alpha God Series.
13/12/2021 (reread): As soon as I saw that Abby Craden had narrated this book, i had to listen to it asap and omg it got ever better with her voice! I have to admit that I lowkey laughed during the hot parts because, I don’t know, it was just too weird 😂 but I enjoyed it nonetheless 👌🏻
13/09/2020: Well, this was different, but good nonetheless. It’s been a while since I enjoyed an omega and alpha story. And I’ve read stories with g!p before but only in fanfics and never in an actual book. This was so much better and sexy and romantic. Really loved the happy ending. Both Aubrey and Kinsey deserve it! Really loved this story. 100% recommend it. And I’m definitely going to read the other books by this author.
An excellent F/F Omegaverse. You should definitely know what that means before reading. It’s not for everyone. A fantastic read. I read it cover to cover in one sitting. The book is set in a world of kings and castles, of slavery and oppression. It has Alphas, Omegas, and Betas oh my! I know this book is meant to be a stand-alone, but I totally see the potential to add another book or two to the story. I would definitely love to see more of Aubrey and Kinsey. An Omega Princess is set to become an Omega Queen. But, of course, first she has to satisfy the kings request before she is deemed fit to rule. She needs to provide an heir. Not as simple task as it may seem. Enter the Alpha slaves. Love comes when we least expect it! I love Aubrey and Kinsey together. They both have had a lifetime of suppressing who they truly are, and finding one another has set them free. Together than can let go and be who they truly are.

I had no idea what to expect and was very pleased with my introduction to the F/F Omegaverse. In the beginning, for me, this wasn't an easy read, but as the story progressed, I got lost in this other world of alphas, omegas, and betas. It was so freaking hot and spellbinding. My appetite for this genre is now growing, thanks to the great writing of Lexa Luthor and her well developed characters. I can highly recommend 0f Iron And Gold.
4,5 stars All right... First things first: I usually don't read smut-centric fiction. Basically not at all. So I really didn't think this would be my cup of tea. But this book was recommended to me from at least eight separate sources, so I finally caved and read it. It was worth it. No, seriously, as long as you're not put-off by the concept of Omegaverse (which is something you should consider before even starting to read this), you'll probably enjoy this. It's very well written. It's still not my cup of tea, story-wise, but the quality overshadows that. I'll probably check out other books by this author after this.
Over the days, she had grown close to Kenzi, and could almost touch a life that she’d thought was only a dream.
3.5 stars. This went better than I expected it to. I haven't liked omegaverse since it first popped up years and years ago, and I came across it in m/m and m/f form. This is my first time reading full on f/f omegaverse, and it's definitely my favourite thing I've read in the genre? That's... not saying a lot! At all! Lol, but I'm still glad I tried it. Like how I never read any bully romance, read one, and confirmed for myself that they aren't for me. This trope is also not for me. I don't care about genitals; it's just that there are just some things really I don't like: the biological imperative, the emphasis on impregnation, the pseudo werewolf stuff, the kn*ts. Suuuuuper not for me lol.
But that isn't to say I disliked this. It was pretty short, but it's got a sweet, really hot love story. I do love fantasy romances about royalty and loyalty, and if there's got to be a slave trope, I love when the power dynamics are reversed, like they are here. It was easy to like both heroines, and though the story wasn't mind-blowing, it was entertaining. And really sexy! The extra .5 is just for that.
Listened to the audiobook as read by Alexandria Wilde, who is a favourite narrator under a pseudonym. And thank goodness for her, because I know I wouldn't have enjoyed this as much without her. I wouldn't mind reading from this author again, if she ever branches out from a/b/o.
I won’t be able to write a review good enough but I’m gonna try. The book was excellent. I have been waiting for it to be available since June and July couldn’t come soon enough and the result was as good as I thought it was gonna be. Hot as hell, twists I didn’t see coming, a perfect Alpha AND an excellent Omega, something that surprised me greatly because usually these kind of characters don’t have a huge focus in them or they aren’t that important. Not here!! The author portrayed Kinsey in a exquisite way, her instinct as strong as Aubrey’s but perfectly complementing the alpha’s. Add that medieval era and you have a book I couldn’t put down until I was done, which is not so great because now I want another one crazily and patience is in order again *sighs* If I have to find a “con” it would be the length...of the book, you dirty minds! I wanted, needed more pages.
Listened to the audio book which was narrated by our favorite narrator. There’s no mistaking her voice. 🤣
This has been in my TBR for ever and I finished this in one sitting/driving/ cleaning out and old bunch of papers. Truth - it was hard to focus on what was going with the heat in this book 🔥🔥🔥 The Omegaverse is an interesting place and always gets me amped up.
I’m thinking this book is close to Luthor’s heart and wanting a family of her own. Nice HEA
I enjoyed this, mostly. I picked it up because I always enjoy this narrator and I was curious when I realized it was essentially an A/B/O story, which I’ve never encountered outside of fanfic. It’s not a trope that I’ve ever particularly gravitated towards (mostly because of its prevalence in mlm slash fic) but I thought I’d give this one a go. I’ll admit, my only experience with the trope is with stories actually featuring werewolves, and I was surprised when that wasn’t the case here. I didn’t really connect with either main character quite enough, and I found their dynamic a little lacking. They just seemed to be attracted to each other because of the trope, mostly. That said, it held my attention, the narration was as wonderful as always, and it was a perfectly fine time. I think it just left me wanting a little more on both character and plot fronts.
(Another in depth and well-thought out book review brought to you by TJ Dallas 🙈😂) For real though, I may have found a new favourite author! I can't wait for the new release in a few days!
Another great read written by Lexa Luthor. This time her first standalone f/f omegaverse G!p book. It was exactly want I wanted. The kink part was okay..... 😅😅🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥(is it still hot in here 😈) but I loved the rest of the storyIine so much that it is okay that the kink part was just okay (seriously need to open a window to get rid of the heat) Again these books are not for evrybody, but I was just disappointed by one thing...I didn’t want it to finish. So more than 5 stars and now the waiting starts for book 4.
13 december 2021 I loved!!!!!! the audio even more. Alexandria Wilde a k a AC did a terrific job as usual.
I listened to the audiobook and it’s a scorcher. I’ve always wanted to read this author and the book delivers what it promises, a hot and heavy alpha/omega Fck Fest. But I also liked both main characters so I was cheering them on to be together as a mated couple. The whole submissive, I belong to you, my Alpha, gave me werewolf vibes, especially when scent and the Omega’s heat came into play which made it familiar in a good way. As a bonus, the narrator (Abby as Alexandria) pours gasoline onto the fire so if you are curious like I was and want to venture into Omegaverse, I think the audiobook is a good place to start. Read some of the other reviews which are more knowledgeable if you want a better understanding of this genre. But overall, I had a good time.
Sold into slavery at a young age, Aubrey finds herself one of four Alpha slaves taken to Tharnstone Castle. There the slaves will be interviewed by the Princess Kinsey, an Omega and heir to her fathers kingdom. Kinsey wishes to not share her throne with anyone, and her father agrees, with the stipulation that the Princess provides the next generation heir before her fathers death. Kinsey must pick one Alpha slave to leave her with child and in exchange, the slave will be freed to continue life away from the castle, Kinsey, and the child. Aubrey is a fertile, futa, she-alpha, not a desirable thing to be in this omegaverse, and, in the eyes of the King, certainly not worthy to sire an heir with his daughter. But Aubrey is chosen, and the story goes from there.
The characters are likable (except for the bad guys) and they all have attributes of wolf shifters, but in this world, they don’t shift. So, if futanari, butch/femme, shifter stories are your thing, you will love this book. The sex is deliciously explicit, I loved it, in fact I was mesmerized reading it, but it could offend some. If you don’t know what futanari means, don’t read this book until you do. Enjoy 😉
Hey LL, a series with Aubrey and Kinsey would be great
3.25. a pleasing introduction to the narrator, alexandria wilde. i loved the chemistry & passion between kenzi & her she-alpha, aubrey. i definitely think alexandria wilde turnt this story up a notch. once again, alpha males are weird as fuck! that is all. 🖤
abused the fuck of the words “growled” and “rumbled” but other than that, this wasn’t bad, in fact, i would say it was pretty good. not great because at the end of the day, it’s kinda just plot strung together to get the sex but what we do get of the plot is liked!! and i also liked the characters!! i do wish we kinda got *more* of everything but oh well…
At its core, this is just another story about a princess, destined to rule, who falls in love with her slave/guard/commoner/anyone else not suitable. But, since this is set in the Omegaverse, the attraction and lust are cranked up to eleven and beyond. This then culminates in a long, long sex scene, swiftly followed by the inevitable breakup. There's another sex-scene near the end, but I skipped that one.
Ultimately, I was less than impressed with this book.
On a tangential note: I don't want to see the word (g)rumbled ever again in my books. For the lols, I did a search, but I stopped counting at 85 and I was only at chapter 8.
I still don’t know if I can describe to you what 'omegaverse' is but you really don’t need to get your head around it to enjoy this book. I really liked the romance to this, and there was a good mix of action too. Also, the sex scenes were pretty damn hot 🔥
This story is so awesome! I loved the chemistry between Aubrey and Kinsey and just devoured the book. I highly recommend this book. It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Another great story from Lexa Luthor.
