We take Rough Guide books on all of our trips. With our upcoming trip to Singapore, we were able to plan it all out and feel confident that the information from them is accurate. We have learned to trust their advice and recommendations. They have Top Recommendations at the front of the book that you can use if you do not have much time or do not want to delve into details. Or you can learn everything you want to know about a country or, in this case, a city-state. They offer advice on hotels, hostels, camping, restaurants, entertainment for all budgets. There are clear maps and even subway maps. In the past, we have trusted RG and gone off our planned route. We have discovered many wonderful areas, thanks to them. I highly recommend Rough Guides over Lonely Planet or any of the other travel books.

Excellent guide for travel to Singapore. If you are new to the city, this guide prepares you to travel and enjoy the sights in Singapore. With this guide, we were able to find our way around and were able to save valuable time by concentrating on the sites we want to see. We did Singapore, 3 days, 2 nights and in that time, was able to go see the Metallic Trees in Marina by the bay, watch the light show there in the evening, got to see the Singapore flyer, able to ride the metro back and forth to our hotel. Got to buy lots of souvenirs in Chinatown, ate some good Indian food in Little India (Banana Leaf Apolo - recommended by the book) and do some more shopping in Singapore malls (Orchard) etc.

If we had more time, we could have gone to other places in Singapore recommended by this book. This book does deliver.

Totally recommend this book if you are travelling to Singapore.
