Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).

During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.

"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.

"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

Se confirmaron las sospechas! Que fuerte que lo tuviera con un profe tho. No tengo mucho que decir porque me ha dado por ojear lo que viene y me da algo.

update ahora que ya he calmado mi curiosidad: nadie puede convencerme de que esto no es una bi convention, porque sino explicame las reacciones del Luca al Natsume, por no hablar del rollo que llevan la Mikan y la Hotaru (which se comentó hace un par de tomos x parte de unos extras). Y hablando de esta última... An icon. Peleando x su vida y aún así despertándose pa insultar a la distancia, realmente nadie como ella!

Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.

Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.

První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.

Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.

Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.

Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.

Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.

Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...

Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné

Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

The only problem I have with this series is that I keep thinking they're like 6 year olds 😂 I don't know why. Everything else... nice. I'm actually liking the story. In the first volume I was a little iffy about it but now... 😁
I do hope Natsume and Mikan's relationship is nicely developed though. I mean I already know it'll go till they're a bit older and all that so really hoping it'll have a nice development.

Des intrusions, deux camps ambigus qui se font la guerre (et ça déconne pas 🤯), l'Académie joue un rôle clé. Qui est l'organisation Z, pourquoi volent-ils des pouvoirs ? Pas que de simples tueurs c'est évident mais c'est si flou, je pige paaas ma tête explose ! Mais Mikan & Co fuguent pour sauver leurs amis, le setting de forêt gloomy j'adore !

This is a continuation of the last volume so there’s not a lot to comment on. Higuchi sensei is great at balancing humor and darkness, which is what makes this series so enjoyable. I love the plot and the world, but the characters and their relationships are what shines.

Fue el tomo más corto e insulso hasta ahora, el único momento que rescato fue cuando Mikan y Ruka hablaron sobre piedras Alice. Por otro lado, por fin se dió más contexto sobre "aquella mujer" y mis sospechas fueron acertadas, lol

I'm caught up on the US release. The latest three volumes arrived in my mailbox yesterday morning. I was going to try to ration my reading...but I just couldn't (besides which, I got my husband to start reading the series, and I had to keep him company reading, too). This story is so addicting, and I'm so invested in the characters and what's going to happen to them, particularly Natsume, whose situation worries me and frustrates me the most.

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.

Tachibana Higuchi stumbles in this volume as Mikan and friends take off after Z agents who escaped the Academy. While it's mostly character development focused and does reveal a couple of things about our characters, it drags in what should be a suspenseful moment. Not the best volume by any stretch.

Ooh, I love this manga so much! But I have to admit, this book wasn't as good as previous ones, because I was never moved enough to cry (shut up, I'm sentimental.) That said, I did enjoy the scene by the moonlit lake. When are these silly boys going to realize that Mikan's true love is Hotaru? :D

This volume is both very depressing, and very cheerful. Even Natsume is quite funny, but it's really Mikan's idiocy that brighten up the manga. Idiocy, or perhaps, her being herself.

Gaaah! Am i the only crushing on Tsubasa? XD he's so cool. I honestly like him better than Natsume and Ruka. :P lol and those Alice stones seems beautiful. I used to think that Mikan was the daughter of Narumi and Yuka. Because of some rumors in some forums about this Manga. I wonder if it's true.
