Sometimes We Fall is a collection of short stories about the young adult world of those who like to be risqué, get caught up in a web of lies, obsessions, and dance along the lines of danger. It's because life's a party, and no one can tell these young souls a damn thing! All bets are on the table and they’re willing to let anyone in. Social media has become the highlight of their lives, love is frivolous and a never-ending game, friendships are tested, and everyday interactions can be life threatening. Soon they will see that some things aren’t always what they seem; especially when it comes to reality.
Drawn in at the first page....couldnt put the book down. I really liked the fact that this book was very easy to read and understand. It makes me think about cutural humility. I definitely recommend this book to all cultures, educators, pre-teens, parents, and teenagers. This book also focuses on every day issues that we experience in society as children and adults. Everyone can relate to these stories. The short stories keeps your mind wondering. I would love to read a nonfiction book based on, "The Hoodie". In addition, this book focuses on topics that parents and educators can use to focus on those difficult conversations to be had with young adults and youth. Yes, Im wanting more ! and I love the introduction at the end of the book that provides a sample of the authors new and upcoming Sci-Fi novel.....Can't wait!!!
I have nothing negative to say about this book. It was a fast read and was interesting, didn’t bore me to death. When I picked up the book, I had no clue what it was going to be about but I found myself enjoying it. There was never a moment where I was like I can’t read this anymore, I actually want a full book on just some of these stories alone. Loved the representation of black people in the story and the focus on real issues in society especially as the world evolves. It was a good read, and I recommend this book to everyone.
Sometimes We Fall is a collection of short stories centered around cautionary tales for African American youth. The author has done a fantastic job with creating characters that capture your heart so much that you feel as though you are learning the lessons right along with them. This is one of those reads that make you question societal norms. I highly recommend it!
