This is the story of Helena and Jasper. They went to high school together and were always in competition to be the best at everything. They certainly had an attraction back then but due to a bit of a misunderstanding they lost touch and Helena hated Jasper.

Flash forward and they are both successful business people. Helena is a PR magician and Jasper needs her help to revamp his image after getting caught somewhere he shouldn't have been. The heat is still there between them and Jasper is determined to win Helena over. Unfortunately, Helena is holding onto the past.

This is a fun, quick read from C.L. Cruz and a good start to the Badder Bosses series. I'll be sure to check out the next in the series.

Short and Hot

Jasper was Helena's high school nemesis, now that she's a too PR agent and he has a scandal that needs handling, she feels that it is karma.
Another great short story from CL Cruz. In just a handful of pages (65-70) she manages to create characters and a scenario that is fulfilling.

She is a smart, outspoken, and curvy beauty. Jasper is a handsome, ambitious eligible bachelor. These two have a history that goes back to their high school years. Jasper’s brother, Archer, is a lost soul who continues to get in trouble only to call his older brother to bail him out. When Jasper needs publicity assistance due to a recent scandal, the board of directors hires Helena. When Jasper recognizes her, it is evident that their old feelings emerge despite the chemistry that still exists. Will Helena help Jasper repair his public image? Will they resolve their old issues? Will Helena and Jasper get together? To discover what happens, you must read this book.
Ms. Cruz penned an entertaining character-driven plot. I liked her primary and secondary characters. I enjoyed the way they interacted. Ms. Cruz’s use of dialog was exceptional. She is skilled at painting vivid scenes with her descriptive language. This quick read was amusing and refreshing. I recommend it to those who want to get lost in a charming romance.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the new series Badder Bosses. In this book, Helena is a pr manager and she gets a familiar name for a client. Jasper grew up with Helena and they competed for first place throughout high school. They kissed one night and then Helena's project was destroyed and she never forgave Jasper. Now Jasper is a successful businessman and has gotten in trouble for being at an underground poker game. Helena wants Jasper to follow her rules and she will get him out of trouble, but he just wants her. Jasper wants Helena to be his, but she is denying her feelings and keeping things professional. Helena also wants to know why he destroyed her project, but Jasper says he didn't do it. Jasper keeps trying to win her over. I really loved Jasper, he seemed to really care for Helena and i think he always did. Helena was hurt and had to decide if Jasper had changed and if he really could care about her. Another good one.

This is a ARC short story by Jane Fox it's about, curvy girl Nora, found out her boyfriend has been cheating on her and spend money from their joint savings account, to buy her a neckless for his new girlfriend. So she did the next best thing and withdrew what was left and went on vacation alone. While sitting at the swim up bar, at her hotel Nora sees two men walking into the area and right up to the her. There she meets Ash a famous hockey player and after a few drinks heads back to her room, but before she leaves Ash asks her to dinner which she excepted. The next day they tour the island and soon they both realized they have more in common and want to spend more time with each other.

A smart curvy woman and an always has to win billionaire. Helena a PR specialist who will solve any problem put before her for Durand Communications. Her boss assigns her a new account, a CEO Justin Wright who had just gotten caught in a high stakes poker game with some Mafia types and someone videoed it, and the paparazzi are having a field day. When Justin sees who his PR person is he is happier than he should have been but not the same for Helena, they have a past. Great little short story, nice storyline, characters are charming. Romance, adult content. I was given a copy as a gift from the author without obligations. I am providing an honest review.

This is Helena and Jasper's story.  The two knew each other in high school and are now working together 15 years later.  This is a wonderful story of 2nd chances.  I love the chemistry between the two.  I also love how Jasper knows Helena so well.  He knows her preferences and dislikes.  These two are perfect for each other and I loved reading their story. I definitely recommend this book!

If you like short steamy HEA reads especially if you like Liz Fox or Phoebe Sweet, then you will love this book!

Bossy PR and HS first Love

I love this book. This is about Helena and Jasper. Although they have known each other since high school, she felt broken hearted by him. They have always challenged each other and now he needs help with his image as he was caught where he shouldn’t have been. She starts off wanting him to pay for what he did to her 15 years ago, but certain feelings resurface and she cannot deny them. Jasper is a man that is devoted to family but when he learns what his brother did, he has to make a hard decision that would impact more than his life. This has a happy ending especially for a curvy girl!

Jasper is in trouble. He is caught in a scandal that has him on ever social media and news around the world. He a PR rep and fast to get him out of this jam because he is losing stocks. “It’s not what it looks like.” Are the most famous words of all time. Helena is called in from her firm. She and Jasper have a history that dried up after high school. They have challenged each other’s needs and ability. Can she change is reputation and ignore the 15 year old damage he caused? Jasper is greedy and wants Helena. Will he be able to make it work? Another challenging task coming up. No cliffhanger.

Jasper and Helena have a painful history, well painful on Helena's part. After 15 years she is hired to clean up his reputation but the overwhelming attraction is still there.
Loved this story and it was so well written. Helena's attraction for Jasper was well described as was the action that left the reader not having too much trouble working out what was happening. I liked the dialogue and the steamy scenes though only really two, were definitely hot. A great book and definitely one of my faves in this Boss series.

Oh my goodness! What a story! I loved how this second chance, bad boss story twists and turns. Nothing is as it seems. I love how, despite having not seen each other since high school, these former rivals have continued to use each other to fuel their ambitions. Fiery, passionate, steamy, and ultimately loving, these two together are so much better than apart - the best kind of relationship! Looking forward to the rest of the series, and binge reading the all of them!

OMG I don’t even know where to start with this book. Just when you think this author has given you the best she could…she blows our mind out of the park with a new book. Helena is a PR specialist designed to get the lime light of certain people and her next client is none other than Jasper. Her blast from the past who she still loves. It’s hard when tryouts are so intertwined in a book and then it’s over. A book your definitely not going to want to miss out on.

Short, sweet, and steamy

I picked up this book because a friend recommended the author. I like to read short stories when I have finished a series before I'm ready to start another one or after reading something heavy. This was the perfect book for that. The plot moved quickly but not so quick that you felt like it was an incomplete story. You were given enough character development to feel like you knew them and enough background information to give them the past. Sometimes the short stories leave you wanting more this one truly feels complete which is nice.

focused

Helena is assigned to take over Jaspers PR nightmare.
A different twist to this one....they knew each other in high school.
What Helena can not figure is if Jasper is covering for someone because he has too much discipline to screw his life up like this.
This book is written very well and maybe we will see what happens with another prominent character in this book.

Helena Prescott knew Jasper Wright from High School 15 years ago. She blames Jasper for destroying her school project. It's 15 years later and she's been hired to fix Jasper's image after he gets caught at a poker game where the law is investigating the problem. The have the most intense relationship and Helena is the only woman who has ever challenged Jasper and when she finds out who really destroyed her project she just as surprised as Jasper. Great story. Enjoyed it very much.

Helena is a PR agent. She helps numerous celebrities get out of hot water. Her boss sends her an email about a new client and it's someone from her past, Jasper. These two now have to work together. Jasper is still in love with Helena ever since high school. Helena can't stand Jasper because she thinks he destroyed her senior project. The characters have chemistry. It is a short read with some unexpected twists. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book and this is my opinion.

Helena is tough, the best in the business at cleaning up PR messes but when the mess is her high school rival ,Jasper she maybe up for more of a challenge than at work. Jasper is pleasantly surprised when the PR person his board hired to clean up a scandal is none other than his high school rival, Helena, the only woman to challenge him. And she still challenges him but Now he plans on winning her heart in this fun and sexy read. I freely reviewed this book.

A great enemies to lovers romance read

Brenna, a public relations miracle worker, accepts a job to help Jasper, hotshot business consultant and her high school rival, when he finds himself in a bind. As the story progresses things seem to calm down, the tables are turned, and the situation is not always what it looks like. C.L. Cruz’s Greedy Boss is a great enemies to lovers romance read that brings warm fuzzies to the reader. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Great book

Jasper got his self into trouble from a poker game he was bailing his brother out of trouble once again. So Helena had to do her magic and clean his act up. She was awesome at her job. They had a misunderstanding back in high school come to find out it was his brother who ruined her project. So Jasper went above and beyond and scattered a snake wish foundation in his and Helena name. They got there happy ever after

Helena is a PR expert and she is the best at what she does until she is assigned to CEO bad boy Jasper Wright who also happens to be her high school nemesis. Jasper has carried a torch for Helena for years but he blew it.

This was a great book with wonderful characters. I absolutely loved the story line.

This book was about Helena and Jasper. Helena is a PR consultant. She cleans up other people messes for a living. This time she needs to help her high school crush who broke her heart, Jasper. It was a short and quick read that was a page turner that I couldn’t put down. It was hot and steamy and an enjoyable read.

This was actually a pretty good story, with a take no crap kind of a leading lady, and a sexy alpha male. They knew each other in highschool and had a falling out, now she had to come in and save his reputation. It was a good storyline, and hope we get to see them in the other books.

Great book

Like how this book carried you back to their school days. I also like this series is still within the city we readers have been in before. Continuity A+ (sorry just had to do a school reference). Like how they ended up getting together. His move to reinstate the scholarship program. They just made a nice couple.

Really good!

Not only was this a good book, but it was interesting. Helena's job is to clean up her clients. Sometimes she has repeat clients and sometimes she has a client that is new to her, but she knew in high school. I say it was interesting to me because I didn't know what went into that kind of job. Good read! Give it a shot.

Slow burn

It took my a bit to like Helena.... There was just something about her character that I didn't initially like. However, remembering what HS betrayal felt like softened me up a bit towards her. That made the book so much more enjoyable. Surprisingly I love Jasper from the jump😂.

wasn’t feeling it

The grammar in this book wasn’t bad. My problem lies with the length of the story. I think more time was needed to establish their relationship with each other. IMO, she went from resenting him to falling for him wayyy too quickly. Especially when Helena’s previous experience of him was a driving factor to what she did in life.

Safety and Spoilers

Safe. No ow drama. h is torn about the H coming back into her life. She accepts a date with another client. The h doesn’t take this news well and shows up at the date. He disrupts their date and scares om away.
While both their pasts aren’t really talked about it is implied several times that the H is a pretty big player.
No cheating or abuse.

Helena is a PR specialist whose speciality happens to be "bad boys". The newest man in need to cross her desk happens to be her high school rival and the one who broke her heart 15 years earlier.

Jasper is greedy and takes his job seriously but family is a soft spot for him. When he finds out that Helena is the one handling his blunder, he is excited to be reunited with her and of the propect for more.

The chemistry between these two is there from the very beginning. They will need to learn to forgive before they can go forward but they question is...will they be able to with everything working against them?
