A scarred hero. A vulnerable mail-order bride, traveling alone.
Beau Bailey is tasked with protecting travelers on an east Texas train route. A famed Texas Ranger, Beau tangles with plenty of rough outlaws.
His scars come from years of collaring hardened criminals.
When he meets Susanna, a lovely, elegant young woman traveling alone, she stirs his protective instincts. She’s a mail-order bride going to Sweet Willow, a town he knows well. Beau’s gut tells him there’s a problem waiting for her.
Susanna is on her way to marry a man who Beau believes is dead...
A charming Western romance, mostly in Texas. The spiritual element was light and non-preachy.
Beau, a Texas Ranger x 15 yrs, met Susanna (who had wed by proxy Robert Anderson, a man 3x her age). while Beau patrolled a train in east Texas. Sus ran away from her volatile father who set her up for an arranged marriage (another man).
Honorable Beau thought he knew best about nearly everything. He helped Sus get settled after she heard the news of Robert's demise. Robert earlier wrote Susanna that he wanted his pet donkeys well-cared for. The 3 donkeys were a nice touch.
The Novak family : son, mother and grandmother, & Susanna's aunty & former butler all added warmth. This community was a relief from our topsy-turvy real world.
Story is about Susanah from NY to escape an unwanted arranged marriage went to Sweet Willow, Tx. She met Beau bailey and his relatives, the Novaks and Mr Weber. She was a mail order bride and she promised to care for her late husband's ranch and keep it away from his nephew, Jack Anderson.
It was a captivating story. It is clean and Christian-based. I fell in love with most of the characters and their attitude with the struggles they face. I love it also when the author incorporated some different tradition/way of thinking in the story (thus it was educational for me too). Love the love stories that developed.

These books are well written and are great fast reads. The characters are very enjoyable and surrounded by warmth, laughter, and much love.

This is another sweet and clean romance by Ms. Dearing that is sure to warm your heart. Beau is a Ranger - he doesn't stay in one place and takes different assignments that take him to different locations. His assignment is to protect passengers on trains and that is where he meets Susanna. Susanna is trying to escape her father's clutches who wanted to marry her off to an unpleasant man to pay off his debts. She becomes a mail order bride and married by proxy but on arrival she learns her husband has passed away. Beau's job is dangerous and he doesn't want to get married and settle down, but he can't help his growing feelings for Susanna. They have a long journey to a happy ending, but together they learn that love is powerful at healing wounds. This was a beautifully written story with endearing characters and you can't help but root for their HEA. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author!

I really enjoyed this book! Susanna’s father always looked at her with disgust for as long as she could remember. If not for the trustee butler,Henry who was more like a father to her and her Aunt Molly she doesn’t know where she would be. When her father informs her she must marry a disgusting man to pay off his debt she turns to her aunt. When her aunt informs her that her father has stolen her inheritance she encourages her to be a mail order bride to escape her fathers clutches. Nothing turns out the way she expected but it turned out right in the end. I loved the colorful characters both in Texas and Albany. The plot wasn’t exactly original but it did have some interesting twists! I loved watching the emotional struggles the characters had and how they became better people because of it. I recommend this book!

Everyone is warned at the beginning that this is a clean romance. But that does not mean that the whole story is sugar and spice. Susanna is living a good life, secure in the knowledge her future is secure. When she is promised to a man her greedy father chooses, it is time to get out of Dodge. Well actually, out of Albany, New York. Her Aunt Molly has a solution. She should become a mail order bride.
Beau is a Texas ranger with no time for anything except his job. A restless soul, he makes his way from post to post. Assigned to protect passengers on trains, he meets Susanna, then escorts her to meet her husband. There is much, much more to this story, and I think readers will do well to take the time to read it.

This is a clean, sweet romance but I just couldn't get into it. Susanna agrees to become a marriage of convenience to an old guy in Texas, in order to escape her Father forcing her into marrying a nasty old guy he's picked out. Beau is a Texas Ranger after criminals. They target single women on trains so Beau is trying to protect Susanna. Then he tags along with her to her new home, where she's now a widow. They don't really discuss feelings during all this... I also felt like the author was trying to cram in a bunch of story for other characters that probably should have been separate books. There was a bunch going on but at the same time, it was boring. Beau and Susanna didn't seem to fit together terribly well and hardly communicated much.
This is a new author for me and I have enjoyed her clean and sweet historical romance. I thought the story was well plotted, flowed along nicely and held my interest throughout. It was written in such a way that I cared about all the characters and wanted to know what happened to them as well as Susanna and Beau. I loved Susanna and Beau, they were good characters on their own and I loved watching them find their way to be with each other. I could have happily carried on reading about them and their friends and family.

Enjoyed reading this sweet romance with Beau and Susanna. She becomes a mail order when she finds out that her cruel father wants her to marry one of his friends in order to erase a debt he owes and on the train she meets Beau who is a Ranger. She gets married by proxy and when she arrives in Sweet Willow her wealthy husband has passed away. He never wanted to marry because of the dangerous work he does and she thinks she will be content to live on the ranch that she now owns with the money her now deceased husband left her but they are attracted to each other. Will they surrender to the attraction that they have for each other and find their happy ever after?
This was a great sweet romance. Beau never imagined having a woman in his life. When he met Susanna on the train, he was intrigued and attracted to her. Susanna had escaped to Texas and became a mail order bride by proxy. She arrived to find her older husband had already passed and left the ranch to her. Now she was facing protecting the ranch, the family that resided on the property and the animals from her late husbands awful nephew. Beau can’t help but stay and help. Slowly time changes how they feel and a romance blooms. It’s a sweet story that unties families and bring about several romances from secondary characters. Great read.
Susanna is excited and nervous about her new life. A husband she doesn't know but is looking forward to learning more about. When Beau sees the beautiful woman alone on the train he can't help this feeling inside. He knows this woman is different and determined to figure out why. The more time they spend together the more he know he needs to make sure Susanna will be ok. Together Beau and Susanna learn that love and devotion can help heal and let love in. Their journey started separately but together their long journey to love is what life is about.
Mail Order Susanna is a sweet story of a young woman from New York who needs a new start and decides to become a Mail Order Bride by Proxy to an older ranch owner in Texas. She meets a Texas Ranger on her train ride to Texas vi could say, “the rest is history“ but there is a lot that happens from the beginning of that train ride till the end of the book. Charlotte Dearing keeps you engaged through the whole book and even let’s you reconnect with some favorites from her other stories.
The story line is good and the characters are well-presented. Beau Bailey is a Texas Ranger who is protecting the passengers on an east Texas train heading for Sweet Willow. He meets Susanna, a mail order bride traveling alone, and he feels protective of her. He has a feeling that her groom may be a man Beau believes is dead!
There are so many ways the author can move the story. Will Beau step in and marry her? Will she find another prospective groom in the town? Will she return back from where she started out? Grab your copy and find out what the future holds for this sweet lady.
This was a very good book written by Charlotte Dearing and I really enjoyed reading it. A Young girl, a horrible father, a caring butler, a aunt, a unwanted and shocking betrothal, a Texas Ranger, mail order bride by proxy, going to Texas, husband death, three donkeys, trying not to care, a horrible nephew, a puppy, fire, falling in love, retire from Texas Rangers, a marriage? Who? Will there be a happy ever after? I would recommend this book to everyone. Buy book and enjoy reading it as much as I did. Enjoy!
The Third Book in the. Sweet Willow Mail Order Brides series.
I have read the other two books is the Sweet Willow Brides series. All 3 books are an entertaining read. Susanna I thought at first was not as interesting as the other two, but I was very wrong. This book had characters that seem real, I fell in Love with many of them. Victoria a Czechoslovakian widow was so hard and bossy, but when she started to relax and show her true self, she became one of my favorites. Even the animals of the story were Enjoyable.
Super sweet tale of Susanna, a wealthy young lady whose father is trying to marry her off to a horrible man. Susanna’s eccentric Aunt Molly takes her in and urges her to become a mail order bride. Robert Anderson lives in Texas, and is a elderly man in need of companionship only.
Susanna meets the rugged Texas ranger on the train ride to Texas. Her life is about to change!
Sweet HEA, but surprisingly, it was not about Susanna and Beau!
My only question about the story is, where did Victoria and Elsa get money to live on, since neither one worked?
An amazingly sweet and clean historical romance. Susannas father has decided to marry her off to his business partner. But her Aunt has different plans. She sends Susanna off as a Mail order bride to Texas. During the train ride Susanna meets Beau, a Texas Ranger persuing a couple of men who prey upon ladies travelling alone. Loved reading this story. Thanx.

The only complaint is that this series of books took too long to get to the plot of the story, especially since we read about the story before we begin, knowing what the "hick-up" is going to be, kind of makes it drag-along for a while. However, once that point has come and past, the book begins to draw your attention in order to enjoy the read, I would rate the last the best in the series. J O
Susanna’s father wants to marry her off to his partner. The man is her father’s age and drinks at lot. He is mean and a bully like her father. Apparently her father owes him money and Susanna is the payment. Her butler and her aunt come up with a plan. she will become a mail order bride and move to Texas away from her father and his partner. Beau is a Texas ranger who meets Susanna on the train. He protects her and escorts her to her husbands ranch. This is a sweet story and very enjoyable.
It's really not to my tastes. I don't mind sweet, innocent stories but this is more tell than show. It's more like reading a long descriptive letter from a relative than a storybook. I'd like to see more 'in-the-moment' action than telling what happened after the fact. I understand that the author was attempting to wrap up all the loose ends but it felt more drawn-out and a bit tedious. Not a fan.
Charlotte Dearing is someone who's books I enjoy, that said, this was not my favorite. This story is written from 3 different peoples view and and it felt disjointed like I was reading 3 different stories. This made it not as engaging as usual. I did enjoy the story and they do all come togther. Enjoy

I loved this series of books! This one was such a sweet story about Susanna, who left home on the run away from her father's wedding plans for her, and Beau, a heroic Texas Ranger, who never planned to marry. There were a lot of equally sweet subplots within this story and I loved how everything turned out. Great read!
I have become a fan of Dearing. Her stories just give me a warm, calming, fuzzy feeling. I loved each and every character. It was good to see characters from the other stories as well. I even chuckled at the goats. I loved Beau's heart for Susanna. I hate to see this series end.
I loved how this one was a bit different than the first two, and the ending was so perfect! Loved the donkeys and of course Toby! Going to miss Sweet Willow Texas!
Susanna is a only child her mother had died love her with a hateful dad. He spent her inheritance her mother had left her .Read what Susanna when through to make a break from her dad.
