I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

The averaged-out star rating of all 15 stories is 3.3 stars. Considering that I enjoyed 9 of the stories well enough to want to try reading more by those authors, I was tempted to bump it up to 4 stars. But since the editing was appalling throughout (especially in the second to last story) I decided to round down to 3 stars.
An Enchanted Halloween by Tegan Maher ★★★☆☆ This one had me at “fox familiar”. I enjoyed the fun of this story and the characters enough to want to read the rest of the books in this series.
Old Ghost with New Tricks by Elle Adams ★★★☆☆ I liked that this one was a bit scary! It ended up being the scariest story in this book. A perfect read for the Halloween season.
Secrets, Soul Cakes, and Murder by Jenna St. James ★★★☆☆ Just like with the first story in this anthology, this one hooked me enough to want to hunt down more books by this author.
Beswitched by Ava Mallory ★☆☆☆☆ The writing in this one was choppy and I often couldn’t picture what was even happening in a scene.
The Pumpkin Problem by April Aasheim ★★★★★ This story STUCK with me. For several days afterward, I just kept thinking “man that was GOOD!” Absolutely going to read more by this author.
All’s Fairy on Halloween by K.M. Waller ★★★★★ SUCH FUN!! This was a bundle of joy wrapped in fairy magic. I didn’t want it to end.
Semisweet Surprise by Stephanie Damore ★★★★☆ The storyline in this was very clever and got me excited to pick up the next story in this series.
The Case of the Purloined Pumpkin by Leighann Dobbs ★★★★★ I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy while reading anything in my life. The entire time I was reading I had a big goofy smile on my face. You will wish for a cat to snuggle after reading. My favourite story in the book.
The Case of the Foretold Fatality by Nikki Haverstock ★★★★★ Completely enjoyed this one. It felt like a proper mystery.
We Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts! by M.Z. Andrews ★★☆☆☆ I liked how different each member of the friend group was, and I enjoyed parts of this, but it kind of felt too long and most of it was just bickering.
Scaring the Potion off Her by Samantha Silver ★★★★☆ I will definitely be diving into the rest of this series whenever I can. I’m hooked. Also, this may be my first time seeing a goat familiar.
Gone with the Grimoire by Amorette Anderson ★★☆☆☆ This was cute, and I loved all of the mentions of chocolate, but it all fell a bit flat.
Halloween Hanky Panky by Constance Barker ★★☆☆☆ I didn’t really like this one much. Not a fan of the writing style. I did love Pokey and Charlotte though. Also, I was very sad that the theme of mentioning pumpkin punch in each short story wasn’t done in this one.
The Curse of the Headless Horseman by Misty Bane ★★★☆☆ This was a fun enough story but there were so many mistakes in it that it honestly took away from the enjoyment. Incorrect spelling/words, letters missing, extra words inserted, rogue periods... it was too much. This can’t have been edited at all. That being said, the author has a fun writing style, and I’m willing to give the rest of the series a try and hope the editing is better.
Apple Bobbing Horror by Mona Marple ★★☆☆☆ It was fine but also a bit boring.
I had the wonderful opportunity to review the ARC for this book. I loved the Halloween short story. This anthology is great and was a page turner. I look forward to reading more of Amorette Anderson's books. I highly suggest you read and review this.
I am reviewing a few of the stories that I read in the anthology.
An Enchanted Halloween by Tegan Maher. I was so excited to read a short story that takes place in the Enchanted Coast series. Destiny is excited for the Halloween party at the resort. All her friends and her hot boyfriend are there but people seem to be fighting. I won't be too spoilery but it was a fantastic read and a new character named Kira was introduced that I am excited about her getting a full length book really soon. The characters are so well written and the story is brimming with Halloween goodness. There is a mystery to be solved and everyone is on board to help Destiny so everyone can enjoy a Halloween party at the Enchasted Coast Resort. If you haven't read the Enchanted Coast Series, your missing out !
Semisweet Surprise by Stephanie Damore is a short story prequel to the Spirited Sweets Paranormal Series which currently has four books in the series. I absolutely LOVED this short story. It was fantastic reading about how Claire "meets" Nick's ghost. The story is well written filled with surprises. I love how the author addresses grief in this story. The mystery is well written and the characters are fantastic, ghosts included. If you haven't read the series, I highly suggest reading them, they are equally fantastic.
Old Ghost with New Tricks by Elle Adams is a story in her Reaper Witch Mystery Series. This is such a great story. Maura is half witch, half reaper and lives in Hawkwood Hollow a town filled with ghosts wandering around. When one of the residents at the nursing home that recently died asks for Maura's help in locating an heirloom box, all spells break loose, LOL! I love this story, it is well written with fun characters and a great mystery. If your reading this series (which you should be) the story falls between Book 2 and 3 but can definitely be read as a stand alone book.
The Case Of the Purloined Pumpkin by Leighann Dobbs was a really fun mystery . The story is told in the point of view of Cat P.I. Earl Lawson who is the brains behind PI Ray . A woman comes in with a case for them to solve of a missing jack o lantern 🎃. I really enjoyed this story . It felt like a classic who dunnit. I really enjoyed the character of Earl who could plant suggestions in Rays mind to help the case along . The story was well written and flowed at a nice pace . A fun Halloween mystery !
This is in dire need of an editor. After reading five stories, I was seriously considering throwing in the towel. I thought I might just skip to the stories by authors I knew would have (I hoped anyway) proofread at the very least, like Leighann Dobbs. Because some of the stories were painful to read! The stories were interesting, for the most part, although one was a complete waste of time and rather confusing. Only one of the five I'd read so far was fairly free of errors. I put it aside and read something else, then returned to it. I have to say that the second half of the book was much better than the first. And true to form, Leighann Dobbs saved the day. Her story alone made suffering through the first half worth it. I assume that each author did their own editing, and no one went through the book as a whole. In the future, I suggest that stories are alternated between the lesser known and the established, so that all of the well edited ones are not all at the end. That way, people won't give up. I'm glad I stuck with it. But overall, it left an unsatisfied and frustrating feeling behind.
Gone with the Grimoire by Amorette Anderson review: Real fun and easy to solve cozy mystery for all. Nice introduction to characters from the series -- both of them.
If first introduction for you, then you are getting a wonderful little mystery that is easy to guess who fine it. Even better is that you get to meet some of the characters from the series and spinoff. Check them out, especially since this novella takes place in the Marley series. The Marley series is a spin off from the Hillcrest series. Note just shortening the real titles.
Definitely can be read all by itself and not be lost if not familiar with either series. But so cute that you will go and get caught up. Learn the lessons yourself then follow Marley as she ventures out of herself.
For those of us who are very familiar with the characters then you are definitely going live this novella. Marley and Penny arnd Thomas aka Turkey aree asked by Annie to help someone. What I really love is that you can see how much they have grown and learned.
If you cannot tell, I LOVE THESE BOOKS!!!!
Fun, easy to read and solve, and thoroughly enjoyable standalone story..Have fun!!
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
I love Amorette’s books!! I know I’m going to be reading a book that I’ll be enjoying because her books gives me such a great feeling! Isn’t that the real reason we stay with an author-because we like what they say and are anxiously awaiting the next book in any of their series as a result?
I have only read Amorette’s contribution in this book with multiple authors but it’s one I think readers young and old will like. I mean who doesn’t like chocolate? Tag along with Marley and Penny and their familiars as they pay a call to the daughter of Annie’s dear friend and get to the bottom of this sticky situation!
I recommend you have a few chocolates on hand because reading about chocolates are bound to make you hungry!
This is a short Halloween story with Marley and Penny. Annie asks them to visit a chocolate factory in an adjacent town which has been burglarized. The owner Nikki is the daughter of an old friend of Annie’s who made the best chocolate. Unfortunately, Nikki’s chocolate doesn’t stand up to her mom’s standards. Marley and Penny along with their familiars solve this witchy mystery.
For lovers of Amorette Anderson’s Hillcrest mysteries, you won’t want to miss this short story. For readers new to the series, you’ll want to read more!
I love paranormal cozies. With this book, I'd read a few, set it aside for a while, read a few more. Yes, it might have needed spell check and a few seemed a little longer than they may have needed to be, but overall I enjoyed the fun and different ways the authors spun Halloween/All Hallows/Samhein. Recommended 4/5
Normally I like anthologies. A combination of your favorite authors and exposure to new authors. Usually I find a couple two or three that I like and dig into their books. This one? Nope. I didn't like but a few of the stories. Maybe it was the theme? I LOVE Halloween, but these were just... No. It makes me sad, but a few of them I couldn't even finish. I couldn't get into the stories and my mind would wander elsewhere. I'd go back to re-reading the same sentence, paragraph, whatever and then just give up and move to the next story. I don't like to give lower ratings, as I know authors work hard and are brave to put themselves and their stuff out for the world. The good things is, I did still find a new author to follow, hence one star. The other is for the authors I already knew and liked their stories here too.
Gone With the Grimore by Amorette Anderson is a short and sweet cozy with Amorette Anderson's wonderful characters of Hillcrest Witches Coven. Marley is the MC in this, along with her familiar Skilli. She, Penny and Turkey went to Edna's at Annie's request, to figure out who broke into her factory and trashed it. I cant give away all of the book, you will need to read it!
The Enchanted Coast Resort is hosting their annual Halloween Party.
All of Destiny’s hard work is quickly going down the drain as tempers flare due to a series of unexpected accidents.
And this is not necessarily a good thing as guest could be turned into stone, gored, or worse.
Book 2) Old Ghost With New Tricks – Elle Adams
Mort, Maura’s ghostly brother lets her know a new ghost needs to speak with her.
Gladys had a music box that has disappeared, and she wants it found for her granddaughter.
It appears that Gladys had plans to stick around, and she needs Maura’s help to achieve it.
Book 3) Secrets, Soul Cakes, and Murder – Jenna St. James
Serena and Tamara are making pies for the pie eating contest at the Samhain celebration.
When Jack, the town playboy steals something. He sealed his own fate. Now the girls have to find it or one of them may be next.
The funniest and most complete story in the set as of yet.
Book 4) Beswitched – Ava Mallory
This is from an author that I have previously read but don’t follow.
This story will have no bering on my rating for this set.
Book 5) The Pumpkin Problem – April Aasheim
When you live with magic, and your magic is passed on to the next generation.
Keep your eyes open, because sometimes (with magic) wishes come true.
Book 6) All’s Fairy on Halloween – K.M. Waller
Juniper is mostly in charge while her parents are hosting the Wood Nymph king and queen.
Their 12 year old daughter steals Juniper’s wand, and let the games begin.
I really enjoyed this story.
I’ve been looking for a follow up to the one I read previously. Now I have one, even if it’s a prequel.
Book 7) Semisweet Surprise
One morning Claire discovers she can see her late-husband, while she’s in the shower no less. When she goes out to mail a bill and runs into one of the longtime residences.
She later discovers he also had passed away, and now he’s looking for something.
This was a heartwarming story that also had a nice ending.
Book 8) The Case of The Purloined Pumpkin - Leighann Dobbs
Earl Clawson, cat detective, has his nap disturbed when a young woman walks into Ray Leonard’s detective agency. She wants to hire Ray to find a pumpkin she said was stolen from her by her ex-boyfriend.
This is a fun story from Leighann Dobbs, it is not associated with any of her other series and is an entertaining and enjoyable read.
Maybe we have a new series starting?
Book 9) The Case of the Foretold Fatality - Nikki Haverstock
From the Casino Witch Mysteries series.
Monza Ella is stuck in a blizzard that is early for the time of the year.
Almost out of gas, and hungry, Ella finally finds an exit with a dinner/gas station.
Unknow to Ella, her arrival was expected.
There really is no rest for the weary.
It’s always nice to get a new story from Nikki. You’re guaranteed to have an excellent story, as well as some laughter in it somewhere.
Book 10) We Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts! - M.Z. Andrews
When the girls from the Witch squad hear of pumpkins being smash, they’re naturally interested. When their home becomes a target also, they’re on the case.
Someone’s going to pay, and they don’t care who. They will find the guilty party.
This was my first story from Ms. Andrews.
I enjoyed this story and will be reading more from her.
Book 11) Scaring the Potion Off of Her – Samantha Silver
This is another author I don’t follow. This story will not affect my review or rating.
Book 12) Gone With the Grimoire – Amorette Anderson
This is another author I don’t follow. This story will not affect my review or rating.
Book 13) Halloween Hanky Panky – Constance Barker
It appears to have developed characters.
But it’s very slow paced, and didn't hold my interest.
Book 14) The Curse of the Headless Horseman – Misty Bane
An entertaining tale of the Headless Horseman. Only he needed help from someone instead of scaring everyone.
Wow! This book was long - 15 stories in 703 pages! The average stars for all the stories is about 3.2
The bottom line is that there were a number of new authors for me and I want to read more books by 6 authors. So this anthology is a good way to discover new books and series to read.
This is in dire need of an editor. I almost stopped reading a few of the stories because the lack of editing was so bad. Here's my list with very abbreviated comments:
1- An Enchanted Halloween by Tegan Maher: I have read 1 or 2 books in this series about a paranormal resort. There are just too many weird paranormals to keep track of in the story! 2- Old Ghost with New Tricks by Elle Adams: weird, couldn't finish it. 3- Secrets, Soul Cakes & Murder by Jenna St. James: This one was good and funny in parts. 4- Beswitched by Ava Mallory: very odd and confusing. Included a witch mother of 2 grown daughters, a kidnapping, a stolen recipe, and a long lost aunt 5- The Pumpkin Problem by April Aasheim: Interesting. New author for me. I want to read her book - The Witches of Dark Root 6- All's Fairy on Halloween by K. Waller: another new author for me. It was pretty good. I want to read All's Fairy in Love and Murder. 7- Semisweet Surprise by Stephanie Damore: I've read some of the books in this Spirited Sweets series. This is the prequel. It was good. 8- The Case of the Purloined Pumpkin by Leighan Dobbs: She is usually a favorite author but this one was "meh." 9- The Case of the Foretold Fatality by Nikki Haverstock: Good humorous touches. 10- We Ain't Afraid of No Ghost by M.Z. Andrews: A Witch Squad story. It was good. 11- Scaring the Potion Off Her by Samantha Silver: Good story. I want to try Going Through the Potions. 12- Gone with the Grimoire by Amorette Anderson: Another new author for me and the story was good. I want to try Marley the Witch Cozy Mystery Series. 13- Halloween Hanky Panky by Constance Barker: Another new author. This story was interesting and humorous. I want to try the Calamity Corners Witch series - Calm Before the Witch Storm. 14- The Curse of the Headless Horseman by Misty Bane: good possibilities. I want to try the Blackwood Bay Witch Series - Haunted & Hexed 15- Apple Bobbing Horror by Moria Marple: a bit odd.
Secrets, Soul Cakes, and Murder by Jenna St. James What a great start to a new series. Wonderful characters and a good mystery with a couple of suspects. It’s fun to watch Serena the witch explain about magic to Grant the human. Can’t wait to read more about everyone in this town, along with Shayla.
All’s Fairy on Halloween: A Fairy Godmother Mystery Prequel by K.M. Waller Juniper has the best of intentions but she’s put too much trust in a 12-year old wood nymph. The humans are celebrating Halloween and Juniper and Iris decide to put on their version of a human Halloween party. Princess Leaf has mischief on her mind though and it’s up to Juniper to use her wits to fix things before her parents return. Charming characters in this fun story from one of my favorite series.
Semisweet Surprise by Stephanie Damore Charming prequel to another favorite series. We learn the time when Claire acquired her special abilities and her connection to Nick and other ghosts. Wonderful prequel.
The Case of the Purloined Pumpkin by Leighann Dobbs Cute story about a Private Investigating cat who gets his human to cooperate to solve the case. Mystery with some fun twists.
The Case of the Foretold Fatality by Nikki Haverstock Interesting story that takes place at an 80th high school reunion where one will die and one will be the murderer. There are only 5 people left attending so it’s up to Ella to figure out who did it. A very interesting group of suspects. Bittersweet ending. Great descriptions. I felt like I was right there with Ella.
Scaring the Potion Off Her - Samatha Silver Ali is a PI witch trying to find who stole a potion punch. Very clever. Her grandmother Rosie is very clever, as well, handling another problem. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
Gone with the Grimoire - Amorette Anderson I really enjoyed this story and characters. Marley and Penny and their familiars work well together to solve the mystery. Looking forward to reading more about them.
The Curse of the Headless Horseman - Misty Bane Quick short read with Granny, the ghost, telling how she met the Headless Horseman
Apple Bobbing Murder - Mona Marple Great little Halloween mystery. Love Connie and Sage. These are new characters for me and I would definitely read more about them.
I loved reading this anthology! It certainly put me in the mood for Halloween. The stories in this were all excellent! I’m not going to lie. I did read favorite authors first. I knew I was guaranteed to enjoy their stories and I did! I fell asleep several times with the idea of just going to read this one story. I had the plan that I would read one a day as a treat in anticipation of Halloween. That plan quickly went sideways. I was having too much fun! I thought after I finished reading those authors, (they know who they are), I would slow down and do the one a day. I was trying hard to make this book last a long time. That did not happen. I was having just as much fun with the rest of the stories. This anthology is one you definitely want to have in your collection. They are cozy mysteries so you might expect dead bodies and scares. What I loved most about this anthology was that each story captured the fun and anticipation of Halloween perfectly! I was not let down in a single story. That can be difficult to achieve with so many different authors. Do I recommend this book for Halloween anytime of the year reading? You bet I do! *This anthology started out with a hiccup. One of the stories was accidentally left out. That has been corrected. I actually waited a few days to read the book so I could start with that story. As you can tell, it was worth the wait. The collection is complete at the time of this review.*
I have read 4 of the 15 stories so far. And they were, all 4 of them, amazing!
Mona Marple’s Apple Bobbing Murder - 5 stars Excellent story! I SO LOVE Connie and Sage together! It just spoke to me, this story. Connie, all kind and smart and relatable, and Sage, all outgoing and flirty and fun. This story reads perfectly well as a standalone. A well-written and engaging story, a great short murder mystery!
Amorette Anderson’s Gone with the Grimoire - 5 stars Imaginative! Marley, together with Penny and their familiars owl Skili and cat Turkey, investigate a break-in at the chocolate factory. They find out some unexpected things! I loved it! Lighthearted, fun! Imaginative magical things.
Leighann Dobbs’ The Case of the Purloined Pumpkin - 5 stars Such fun! From Cat P.I. Earl’s POV, I loved that! He is the brains, of course, and his human Ray the brawn. I loved this story so much! Such fun! This story has great series potential.
K.M. Waller’s All’s Fairy on Halloween - 5 stars Mayhem! This is the prequel to one of my favorite books ever. I love Juniper to bits. Obsessed with the human world, she can’t resist the Halloween temptation. Funny because this human (me!) is obsessed with fairies, so this was the perfect story for me. And what do witches have to do with it all? Just read this cute, fun story and find out!
I love Halloween silliness! The eerie-not too scary-tales, the decorations, the celebrations, the costumes, the foods, the whole fun package. Given a chance to buy an anthology filled with Halloween stories is like trick-or-treat come early! And like a kid with a bag full of candy, I sat down and started reading, finishing well past the witching hour! Wonderful stories! Some of my favorite authors chose to write about one of their series characters. For instance, Constance Barker went to her series in Amity Corners complete with a Druid (and her familiar Porky, a pig who communicates through the radio), a fairy, a shifter that turns into an alligator, and a real liver-er, undead? vampire. Others include authors that I enjoy but not necessarily in the supernatural genre such as Ellie Ash, Jenna St. James, Stephanie Damore. There is something for everyone in this terrific collection. Indulge yourself! I'm glad I did!
Absolutely loved all of the stories in this anthology. Every author in this book has brought their best with this Halloween addition. From Tegan Maher's Enchanted Coast to Mona Marple's murder in Mystic Springs you cannot find a bad bunch of short stories. Tegan Maher's Enchanted Coast has a Halloween party with a joker who does everything he can to cause problems to party goers that almost leads to fights breaking out. Mona Marple's story is about the love of Halloween and it leads to murder but Connie and Sage are on the scene to find out who did it. K.M. Waller's fairy godmother story is about the human holiday of Halloween and how it leads to some trouble in the fairy godmother realm. Misty Bane's story is a page turner, in the sense that it makes you want to find out how this retelling of the Headless Horseman story ends. I really hated to have each story end because I really enjoyed each one. Definitely a nice clean fun read.
GONE WITH THE GRIMOIRE: A MARLEY THE WITCH SPECIAL” by Amorette Anderson is part of The Pumpkins & Potions - A Paranormal Cozy Mystery Halloween Anthology ...It is a WONDERFUL Tale of Marley Greene...( and her Familiar Owl ..Skili) and Penny Banks Shire ( and her Familiar Feline ...Turkey) as together They investigate a local mysterious break-in at a Chocolate Factory in the nearby town of Melrose....not far from their hometown of Hillcrest. And as the story is set in late Autumn close to Halloween...there’s a distinctly festive air to the mystery. Be sure to have your favorite beverage & plenty of tasty chocolates at hand to read this short story of witching.. sleuthing... magic ... and caloric indulgence! Ms.Anderson is an extremely talented writer...and this tale is particularly delightful! Read and see. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.
What could be better than cozy mysteries? Cozies on Halloween! This book is filled with some great stories by amazing authors. Below is a brief review of just two of them.
An enchanted Halloween Tegan Maher What could go wrong at a Halloween Party held in a resort for all kinds of paranormals? Destiny hopes nothing. It’s her job to arrange and oversee the party. All her friends will be there and she is looking forward to just enjoying herself.
But from the beginning things start to go crazy. Instead of enjoying herself she is left trying to diffuse things. Why are so many things going wrong? The answer will surprise you.
Gone with the Grimoire – Amorette Anderson Join Marley and Penny on a last minute Halloween investigation. Great Hillcrest short story. What could be better than a mystery in a candy factory?
It is nearly Halloween and the Hillcrest coven will be having their first midnight coven meeting. Will their magic be even better at midnight?
But first Marley and Penny need to do a favor for Annie. A friend of hers in Melrose, who has a candy factory, has had a break in and not for the first time. The police are writing it off to mischievous kids but if the ladies can’t figure it out, the business will be closed.
A sterling set of Halloween stories from some of the best paranormal cosy mystery writers from both sides of the pond & possibly the Great Beyond (you never know). I love how these writers get together each Halloween to have the denizens of their various series celebrate Halloween/Samhain in their uniquely spooky way. Of course there's mysteries to solve before & sometimes during the festivities. Catching up with my favourite characters & discovering new ones to add to my list is a cool bonus for me. Hats off to Tegan Maher for shepherding this treat of an anthology despite any tricks that gremlins may have tried to pull off. And many thanks to all the writers for the spine tingling pleasure you've given us.
I bought this on a whim, thinking it would be fun to read a few Halloween tales before the holiday. What a treat! Great price for a great variety of stories!
Some of the stories perfectly combined mystery and mayhem with the holiday, others gave us a close up view of sassy witches, still others brought us the ghosts and vampires we like to associate with Halloween.
I highly recommend this book if you find yourself wanting a dose of Halloween escapades. It was a lot of fun to read, but also a lot longer than I realized. It wouldn’t hurt to skip around, rather than reading the whole book straight through. I’ve even found some new authors to read!
Rating: 5 Stars!! (Wish i could rate it `10 stars!!) Review: This was my first time reading a book of cozy mystery short stories by this author and might i say, it wont be my last!! I realy enjoyed all of the short stories, thought they were so cute to read.
All the characters, storyline and settings were so easy to get into and to get to know. I just wish the stories were a little bit longer tho cause each story left me wanting to know more!!
I will definately read more Cozy mystery books by these author in the very near future!!
I really enjoyed this Halloween anthology. The stories get progressively more creative as you read along. Whether you want cozy or scary, you will be charmed and ready for Halloween by the time you finish this. Thank you for the fun evenings of reading. Don't miss this one!
I love the idea of this book. Several short stories about Halloween made for an interesting read. There were a three stories that I thought were okay but didn’t do much for me. Thus the four star rating. I loved the rest and some more than others. I would definitely recommend this book, especially fo the Halloween season.
I'm not saying this book was in any way bad, but cozy paranormal mystery isn't my genre of choice by default. A lot of the stories felt a little samey after a while: the same tropes, the same character archetypes, just different names and different settings. Still, I'm a Halloween junkie and I'll read almost anything in THAT genre, so this wasn't a terrible way to spend a few minutes each night.
An Anthology of entertaining Halloween stories. These stories can introduce the reader to several tales about magical beings, and there are links to enable you to read more books about them. These stories are funny, scary and full of mystery.
I love every author in this anthology. They each have contributed a short story from one of their series. If you've never read their books, this is a great way to treat yourself to the fun series they each have. They're all unique!
Apple Bobbing Horror by Mona Marple This is the first book I decided to read, even though it’s the last in the anthology. It was really twisted! I loved it! Ms. Marple, this was a great Halloween story! More reviews to come as I read each story!
