I'm finding myself extremely annoyed at the laziness of these authors now days. There was a lot of repeating chapters, I mean literally the same thing word for word from a different character as if we didn't just read what happened in the previous chapter. I can't seem to find quality writing anywhere. I love urban fiction but maybe it is time to step outside my comfort zone. This book was full of fat shaming by a rapist who essentially got away with raping and murdering around 15 women and blaming his penis he named Kong. All of The women were somehow drawn to him immediately and each and every one of them threw themselves desperately at him resulting in him going to their houses and raping and killing them. The police and federal agents were dumb as a box of rocks. I'm appalled. I am still confused as to how his daughter by the school teacher went from age 7 to going on 10 in a matter of a week or two.
It's a no for me. I didn't enjoy this series at all.
First of all, there were too many inconsistencies. The ages of the characters kept changing and the times in the book was all over the place. First the daughter was 7 then she was 10. Like the author couldn't be bother to proofread her own book. There were many more situations like that. Also hated the fact the author filled the series with point of views from Candice and the mom. These were not main characters and I didn't see the point of included their pov. Especially since their motives were reiterated by the main characters. I really didn't enjoy the series. It lacked attention to detail, character development and was overall just cringey to read.
It was a bit unrealistic however I was disgusted at the end with how it went . I thought it was horrible that the man accused got off but he will always have to deal with what he was accused for but the so called prominent lawyer not only will never have to publicly deal with his sins but he gets to live happily ever after and his so smart intelligent FBI agent wife just swept it u see the rug because she was in love with someone she really didn't even know because they had kids. That behavior didn't match her character and the victims will never get justice. Lastly, the timelines kept contracting itself throughout the book.
Overall, this book was on some sick stuff. There was pediophilia, serial killing, and raping to say the least. The language used was so juvenile and the character writing was poor. I feel like it was elementary writing. The characters lack depth. I will admit I’m not a huge fan of urban fiction, but I will read it from time to time. However, my disliking the book had nothing to do with the characters actions or their thought patterns. I just felt their thoughts were unrealistic. The author also could’ve did more research on the criminal justice system before publishing about it. I did read it until the end though because the overall storyline was good and I needed to know where it was going to end. And the ending was very disappointing to say the least. And the whole Sullivan and his mom side story could’ve been kept entirely. I give it 3 stars because of the storyline. It could’ve been higher if the writing style was better and the ending was completely different but it is what it is. I stuck it out but I wouldn’t recommend this book to just anyone. You really have to be open minded and willing to get past a lot in order to enjoy the storyline.
Book 1. Eh, I finished it bc I wanted to see how it played out it was an interesting enough read but like it's set in pretty recent times. You mean to tell me this dude did alll this damage to what, abt 15+women and not ONE doorbell cam or security camera captured his ass going/coming? Normally, things like that don't get under my skin when reading books bc cmon, they gotta keep the book going somwhow. But I mean Khaleel need to help Sully mama play at the casino for how lucky he is to get away with so much. I get the different POV to put you in each person's frame of mind atm, but it got so repetitive that I just sorta skimmed thru it all. I almost started to put the book down at the start bc of the body shaming. But I had to remind myself that the author is purposely doing this to get the reader into the mind of a psychotic serial killer. This is how they think and act. So I had to push through. Even tho I finished it, I likely wouldn't recommend it to friends, unfortunately
This read was so emotional and triggering and heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once, to truly dislike someone but like them all the same describes Khaleel. A danger to society, a danger to those he loves but also charismatic, sweet, intelligent. It’s hard to decipher my feelings for the book because damn near every chapter needs a trigger warning. The ending was subtle and intense and shockingly I’m okay with it after all the turmoil and pain he caused I do feel like his mental health played a huge role in his behavior but he was also super conscious of the terrible things he was doing too so it’s a terrible double edged sword to know his justice and retribution wouldn’t be publicized like his victims but he truly seemed to changed for the better so morally and ethically would that be enough??? I’m unsure, it’s hard to say what you would do in said situation until you’re in that situation. Excellent book Lady
This book had a unexpected turn. I didn't like how they turned an innocent boy whom was well raised into a serial killer! He was taken advantage by his teacher at a young age and you make him a serial killer? Then he gets away with it and the man who was set on proving him guilty decided to let it go because he found new kitty. I thought that was a weak ending. However, I was rooting for Khaleel and I'm happy for his little family. I think the teacher got off easy, which as his mom I would have whooped her ass! I know these are fictional, but damn give us some realism. Too many incidences of unbelievabilities makes a book corner. I continued to read just to get the ending just to feel underwhelmed.
What a good book. When I first started reading this series, I honestly didn't think that I would like it but I did. The storyline drew me in and I found myself wanting to read more. Khaleel was something else. I wanted him to get caught but then I didn't want him to get caught. Erica was a little slow to be as she said to be one of their best special agents. I disliked Sully but I was happy for him in the end. His momma was something else. I'm happy she got what she deserved. Lady Lissa, you did a really good job in writing this series and I will be reading more of you're books!
I like Erica as a federal agent but as a girlfriend/wife she just a dumb blonde like all the signs were in front of your face you just chose to ignore the signs cause you were 🍆 matized by Khaleel he wasn’t all that anyway to be tripping of him I just wish the young ladies would of gotten justice for the crimes he committed to them but like the saying goes Karma doesn’t play now that he had two daughters and a son he better hopes no one doesn’t hurt them like how he did those young ladies once again my favorite author never disappoints me
Khalil was smart taken full advantage of. Abby was a child rapists. Erica was naive about a lot of things despite her career. Khalil had a split personality that almost got him in a dangerous situation (I’m not going to spoil it for those of you that have not read the book yet). Smith I felt like was a pervert. His mother was looney tunes! I suggest this is a good book to read besides the split personalities in this book.
This series was so darn good ! Khaleel take you through a world win of surprises. In the dark he was is your daughters worst night mare . In any other setting, he would be the ideal man you would want your daughter to marry. Smart , handsome, great family dynamics, awesome career, and finacial stable . However, he has issues that need to be addressed that almost put his world in jeopardy. This was an amazing series! I absolutely loved it .
This author didn’t just tell the story but in third & fourth person too. She kept you hanging by a thread wanting more and more. But, also always making some turns in who was doing what and who (I really liked that part). And letting you know that yes, men cry and it’s ok, yes men talk to God and that is DEFINITELY OK and as a married women I WOULD DEFINITELY STAND BY MY MAN, BUT MAKE SURE HE GOT THE HELP HE NEEDED!!! Great book🥰
I really enjoyed reading this story.....It was a different kind of story...I am glad if that.... I couldn’t stop reading this series... I read it to n one day... With men be careful when you ask a man to come over you never know if he is a killer... I don’t think I could be with him when I found out he was a killer...I guess Love is blind and stupid.
Aww man this was a crazy good read. Just when I thought my dude was caught cause DNA don't ever lie. He called, investigated, researched God and was shown favor. In fact all of them recieved God's favor, mercy and forgiveness. Nice unexpected ending. PUT THIS ON CAMERA 💋💋💋💜💜💜
I was surprised when Khadlee turned his life around by going to church confessing his sin for the love of his wife Erica i am happy he found love i don't know about Sully, his mom was crazy as a bed bug but sully found love to in the grace of God
The books were definitely entertaining. I really couldn't put it down. Khaleel made me like him alot then..disappoint set it. But hey love is love. Turns out this was a crazy love story..twisted love..but a love story. You wont be disappointment with these books.
I felt so bad for Sully, because his mom was such a b****. I wish no one would have to go through that. Im also happy he finally found someone who really wanted to be with him. I mean lets face it he really needed to get over Erica, because clearly she dont want him.
As I read this book from the beginning I wanted to put it down. I said naw this not for me but it kept getting more interesting and I couldn’t stop reading about Khalil this amazing lawyer, handsome loving man. Through it all this was a great book from beginning to the end. It really makes you wonder what one will do when in love 🙄🤷🏽♀️
Definitely wasn't expecting this. I really wanted to like Khaleel and Erica together but nope i just couldn't. I was hoping that Khaleel had a medical reason for his actions but nope. He was a monster and Erica was a blind, gullible fool. I only gave it three stars cause it was well written but a retarded storyline.
I never in my life seen the dumbest FBI agents as in this book. This book totally surprised me. Alot of deaths yet everyone lives happily ever after. Great storyline though 👏
This was a great series i could not stop reading. Khaleel was crazy as hell but loving at the same time. The book turned out differently than i thought it would but it was great and i loved the ending .
Crazy 😜was a LDK.😅😅 ..Wow this SERIES was out cold... Dick that big he killing women with it... Man he had too look really good to be getting picked up by the women. But old girl had a trick for him😉
This was an excellent book to say the least!! Kept you on the edge of your seat... great suspense and erotica. But I think you could have ended it better. Maybe made another book. But 5 stars all the way.
This book is fie!!! I couldn't put i down.. And got mad when my reading was interupted. Great story line the plot twists and turns will definitely keep you turning page after page. I truly enjoyed this book
OMG!!! This book had so many turns I had trouble putting the book down at times trying to go to bed . The way this book ended had me in tears an heart broken man oh man well written and very mind blowing how the law works. Love love love
You ever have a friend who talk too much and drag things out ugh the book was ok I have to finish the series because I started it. It usually take me a few hours to finish a book this one took a few days because it was so repetitive but overall it was fine
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series of books about Khaleel
I liked the way that the characters interaction between each other. The mystery or suspense is what kept me reading. I would constantly be on the lookout for someone to kept or expose him.
Wooooo Weeeees.... This here was some Crazy Outta Ya Mind Reading !! As the saying goes what's done in the dark does come to the light...kinda. Love is funny thing and the Good Lord works In Mysterious Ways.
