4 Smut Scale Stars
If Kristen Ashley's Golden Dynasty (which, let's be honest, is a blatant Game of Thrones Dothraki rip-off) and Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians had a baby, it would be this book.

Just wanted a refresher of the first book since I’ve read the second about 3 times but I forgot most of the story from this one.
Still 4 stars I’d say. Reading it with more knowledge of the world in which is set and knowing what the Dakkari words the hero says mean- is clearly a different experience. Last time I wasn’t as taken with him (I kinda wanted to punch him for the audacity) but now (I still wanna punch him on principle) I’m swayed by pretty words he says - though his actions are shitty at times.
Also, can I just ask - how do you expect to live with someone and marry them - be forever with them if you don’t speak to them and explain why you do certain things or why your culture is a certain way. I get that if he explained stuff there would be no book - but still. I guess I can chalk it up to him being ignorant of the fact that foreigners didn’t know much about Dakkar.

It was a good, quick read, I would recommend as I’ve enjoyed it. I needed something with a touch of fantasy and romance.
Yes, it is similar to Golden Dynasty by KA but only in a superficial sense. This one is much lighter, does not contain sexual violence towards women, the relationship between the mc’s is much more lovey-dovey, plus this is shorter and the plot is much simpler. Doesn’t have any of the triggers the other does.
I will definitely continue to read each book in this series as they come out.

4 Horde Queen Stars ⭐
Although fantasy romances are not necessarily my preference, I do have a weakness for Barbarians and Warlords with cavemen tendencies. Especially those who fall for feisty woman capable of grabbing them by the balls whilst giving them a twist for good measure! And Captive of the Horde King delivered on all fronts…
"If I decide not to end your life or your brother’s," the horde king murmured lowly, his gaze dropping down to my body again, his voice deepening even more, "will you serve me, kalles?"
Living in a world ruled and dominated by The Dakkari is hard, especially for the humans. Luna lives in a village ravaged by poverty, dying crops and hunger. When her brother sets fire to their land, a definite no; it brings these aliens to their doorstep. Yet it is Luna that offers herself as atonement.
"I will claim you in the old way, in the old Dakkari tradition, he told me," which only confused me even more. "You will not be my whore, kalles. You will be my queen."
The Horde King, Arokan is taken by Luna’s bravery and loyalty. Where she believes she has offered herself as his whore, she is yet to realize that his plans are far grander. Although it will take time for Luna to accept and adjust to the way of the Dakkari. But there is no greater teacher than Arokan.
With alpha aliens and their additional ‘vibrating bump’ appendage who are devoted to their lover’s pleasure and care, I inhaled this book. It was light enough to simply enjoy the world building as well as the learning curve required from both Luna and Arokan to make their marriage real. Plus, it was deliciously hot!

1st read:
I think it's safe to say that it's rare for me to rate an Alien romance book 5 stars. For the most part I enjoy them, however I've not found very many that I want to rave about when I finish. This one is the exception.
I absolutely loved this book. I'm having a really hard time not rushing to Amazon to buy all this authors books. If the rest of her books are anything like this one, I will be reading them all. The reason I loved this book so much was a combination of both the hero and heroine.
My favorite type of heroes are the big, strong, dominant, protective and scary men. He is all of these things. Arokan is the king of his horde. He's rough around the edges but very protective of Luna. Even when Luna fought back with him at first, he treated her with care.
Arokan's character would have been enough for me to love this book but I can honestly say the heroine was just as good. Luna was a strong woman. She did fight against Arokan at first but she was also sensible. She knew when to fight and when not to fight. That is so important in a heroine in this type of book. I genuinely liked her character.
I grabbed this book up because someone recommended it and said it was like Kristen Ashley's Golden Dynasty. It does have that vibe but I still think this felt like it's own story. I'm looking forward to more in the series.

Luna (h) is on a foreign planet called Dakkar where the Dakkari rules with seven horde kings. Luna lives with her little brother in a small village and one day her brother burns down the field by accident but it's still seen as a huge violation of the Dakkari folk. One of the horde kings, Arokan (H), comes by for a visit and Luna sacrifices herself that the Horde King will spare her brother's life. She's taken back to the horde camp and has to learn to adjust to her new life.

Believe me, when I say that I clicked so fast on the to-read button.
I was stoked to finally start this series and what can I say. Since TGD I feel in love with the barbarian romance subgenre. It's so damn entertaining. Every book that gives me some kind of Khal Drogo vibes is a win in my eyes.
While I enjoyed this world and most of the story, I had two major problems with this book.
↳ ✧ 1. I compared everything to The Golden Dynasty ✧
And that's a "it's me, it's not the book" problem. I knew going into the book that it would be much lighter and would have less violence than The Golden Dynasty. But the more I didn't want to compare it, the more I did.
I was like duhh:
⇢ why does this guy have a TAIL?! Isn't it weird enough that he has six fingers and claws and six toes?? Noo apparently he has to have a tail… WHY? I know they are aliens but d-do you have to mention that fact? 😭
What my mind conjures is a RAT'S TAIL (i wanted to insert a picture of a rat here, but when I wanted to save the picture, my laptop CRASHED!!! It's a fucking sign.. My laptop was too digusted. Guess today is your lucky day)
⇢ why does everyone speak the "universal language"?? Bruh, this is wayy to easy for the heroine to understand everyone.. where is the flavour in that? I wanted some Lahnahsahna Fahnahsan Dahksahna ato Hahla Lahn shiit 😭 but noo because almost everyone important speaks the universal language it was easy for Luna to communicate with the people and Arokan.
⇢ why are the guys so civilised?? What you're telling me they don't beat up woman or act barbaric?? These dudes are all teddy bears when all I expect is bloodthirsty monsters. Why does nothing bad happen? Is this a 5 star hotel or what? I was so confused.
And the list goes on and on. If you've never read TGD then you won't have a problem or even if you have read it but can read one book without comparing it to another, then you're going to be fine. That's just how my brain works, if I see that two books are really similar, I automatically start to compare them with each other and when it comes to barbarian romance TGD is just top-tier 🙈

Luna was annoying. She offers herself in exchange for her brother's life. She tells the horde king that she's going to be his whore if he will let her brother live. Luna was suppose to pay a price, but it never felt like she did. Her new life in the horde was way too comfortable. She had food, she had clothes, she had hot water and homegirl still found things to complain about like omg "this skirt is way too short I don't want to wear this". Nah girl nah.
Like Luna tried to fight everything with tooth and nail and I just didn't understand it. She is on a foreign planet, is with a lot of strange creatures, she's treated way better than the village she lived before and she's so ungrateful. Girl, be glad to still breathing air. These people could have killed your brother and you for breaking the law. She's the prisoner but acts like a princess sometimes.
She's with Arokan maybe a couple of days or weeks and thinks she can change their traditions, disobey Arokan infant of his horde and it made me facepalm so hard. Who does she think she is to make any demands? Luna througout the book thought she knew better but she did not. It was irking me. She depends on THEM and not the otherway around.
But what I liked about her character was that at the end when she gets kidnapped by the enemies, she is no damsel in distress. She's clever enough to save herself and that was some badass behaviour.
Otherwise, everything else was ✨peachy✨.

The H, Arokan, reminded me so much of Khal Drogo (minus the rape, thank you very much!). Just like my GR friends assured me, he was definitely swoon-worthy 💞
Something rose from him, wild and quick. He advanced on me, lowered his head ever so slightly, and growled, “Your future is always with me, kalles. Do not ever say otherwise.”
The entire horde part gave me super Dothraki vibes, and I loved it. Not to mention, there's super hot alien sex in this (*coughs* the tail *coughs*). I mean, what more can a girl want right?
Although the world-building is a bit lacking, the romance in this one is top-notch!
I leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips and then I pulled back and said, “I love you, Arokan. No matter what, I love you. I regret not telling you sooner.”
He leaned his forehead against mine. His voice deepened as he said, “I love you too, my Luna, rei kassikari, rei Morakkari. I think I have from the very first moment.”

Mindy Lou! You were so right! This book was sooo good!
When Luna offers herself up as a war prize to the Horde King in place of her brother, she is whisked away from the only life she has ever known and into a whole new world.
It’s quite an adjustment for her but despite years of self-doubt and guilt, she was so much stronger than she gave herself credit for. As the story progresses her strength only grows and I loved experiencing her struggles and joys as she learns to accept not only the way of life and the people of the horde, but Arokan as well.
I loved Arokan! Even though we never got his point of view, it wasn’t hard to know how he felt. He was protective of her but never overbearing or controlling. I expected a lot of push and pull between this hero and heroine but once Luna settles in that was not the case. They still had issues to work out and watching them come together as a couple was wonderful.
This is a fast paced read with some well-rounded secondary characters that did not overtake the plot. There is a bit of drama at the end that didn’t surprise me but that highlighted all the finer qualities Arokan and Luna possessed individually and as a couple. The steam is absolutely sizzling and so intense! While the ending didn’t give me a far enough look into the future, I suspect we will see more of these characters in future books and I have every intention of reading them.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Truly Disliked The Main Character*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
The book centers around Luna (25?) who trades her life to save her brother after he did something stupid. Arokan of Rath Kitala, one of the horde kings/Vorakkars decided that she is to be his Morakkari/queen. However, can a human adapt to the ways of the Dakkar or will the differences between them drive them apart. Then there's the enemies.
Overall, I like the concept of the book, the theme and the main male character, however, I strongly disliked Luna. She's stupid and stubborn and quite annoying. Why refuse food? You made a deal, fucking deal with it. Barely a day has gone by since you traded your life for you brother's and you are willing to bet that Arokan "wants" you so you say go ahead and kill your brother? Because you don't want to eat? What the hell woman? You said anything Arokan wants, he makes you his queen instead of slave. Either way, you could've had it so much worse, yet you complain? You made a fucking deal! You refuse to respect their traditions, their clothes, their food and you judge without knowing a shit. Fuck off, Luna. I understand that she want to be independent and all that, but she came of as an angry bratty girl instead. "I’d never been patient, one of my many faults." - You have many fault, Luna. Too fucking many. She believes she can order the king around when she hasn't even earned the right. Fuck she annoys me.
From the "she's stupid part" was my rant while reading the book. I disliked her for most of the story. Also, while I did like Arokan, he was one of six horde kings and all drakkar has one main king, so I didn't really feel like Arokan had that much power. That said, do I regret reading this book? No. Will I do it again? No. Will I continue the series? As of now, no. Perhaps that will change in the future. While I don't feel like this was truly an enemies to lovers theme, I still shelved it as one as they are two different species and it is technically a forced marriage since she makes a deal.

I picked this book up with some trepidation but liked the sound of it so hoped for the best, and I’m glad I did, overall this was a pleasing read.
This book reminded me a little of Kristen Ashley’s The Golden Dynasty, but for me Captive of the Horde King, was a far more palatable read and thus a more enjoyable read. Unlike, The Golden Dynasty, rape does not occur in this story, and it along with the abuse of women is not a naturalised component of the Dakkar culture.
Dakkar is the native planet of the Dakkari Horde, with all other species such as Luna’s being transplants/settlers, as all settlers much abide by the laws of the Horde or face their wrath/punishment. What I liked about this book was that due to the King knowing the universal language he and Luna could talk to each other and did not need to rely on a translator.
There are those who are unhappy about the human King having Luna at his side and others who wish to use her to punish him but I’m happy to say this book ends in a HEA.
This as a nice little morsel that I see myself picking up again at some point.

This book reminded me a little of Kristen Ashley’s The Golden Dynasty, but for me Captive of the Horde King, was a far more palatable read and thus a more enjoyable read. Unlike, The Golden Dynasty, rape does not occur in this story, and it along with the abuse of women is not a naturalised component of the Dakkar culture.
Dakkar is the native planet of the Dakkari Horde, with all other species such as Luna’s being transplants/settlers, as all settlers much abide by the laws of the Horde or face their wrath/punishment. Zoey Draven is an extremely talented writer. All of the characters are fully realized, and for every flaw, they make up for it. They are quick to apologize when in the wrong, yet are compassionate when wronged.
The way things turned out with Hukan was heartbreaking. I had hoped respect would grow, but…c’est la vie. The people you love will hurt you in misguided attempts to help, and sometimes the hurt will be unforgivable. Arokan’s humane reaction to it showed how tough it is to be a leader and how good of one he is.
I am very excited to read about the other Horde Kings. I WILL be starting the next book immediately.

I love the Golden Dynasty and while it’s obvious early on this is a copy of that I thought the alien part might make a nice change. I was wrong. Luna is annoying as hell and life is too short.

Holy Batman this book!!!
Words cannot describe how much I adored this sci-fi barbarian type romance.
So Arokan is a horde king, He is Dakkari the native species of Dakkar a nomadic alien race.
Huge brawny warriors that to Luna initially seem so alien and scary.
Luna is human one of the many settlers on their planet and when her brother breaks the rules bringing down the wrath of there overlords luna begs to take his punishment herself.
Instead the Horde king takes her in the old ways as his captured bride and spares her life.
So originally this was very much a battle of wills but it is also a story of putting aside differences and reaching across the divide all in the name of love.
What I really adored about this was though Luna is initially resistant she is a sensible girl who knows when to bend and when to stand firm.
She is not silly and immature and though she makes mistakes she is only too happy to atone and admit them.
She also quickly realises that her initial judgment was based more on her own fears and things could be a lot worse than they are.
Arokan surprised me he was still very much an alpha male taking what he wants but he tempers this with unexpected care, understanding and gentleness.
I adored how gruff and protective he was easing Luna into her new reality and showcasing a patience that caught me by surprise.
I really adored the beautiful simplicity of there love story.
So despite the alien landscape, this had a massive barbarian vibe to it.
If you loved KA's Golden Dynasty then you are probably going to love this one it has a similar vibe to it.
Although this is less harsh and had a much sweeter feel overall than that one.
This was all told in Luna's POV but if you sign up for the newsletter there's a bonus chapter from the man himself which I really enjoyed.
This was such an unusual read with fabulous imaginative world-building I highly recommend this book.

OMG!!!!!
The fantasy world she created— AWESOME!
Even though I belong to that 1% who didn’t watch or read GOT, I loved the story of Khaleesi and Khal Drogo. For some reason this book reminded me of them. Though the hero is an alien with tail😉. He was a sexy combination of caring and aggressive. Heroine was a stubborn but loving Human. She wasn’t afraid to admit when she was on wrong side and I love her for it. Her growth in the book from this somewhat introvert-always busy sister to a mature-brave queen was so delicious to read.
This wasn’t a rushly concocted smut ( as I originally thought) but a well developed, fantastically written book. I loved the action and passion. Infact I loved everything! And don’t get me started on the different cultures and customs.
Waiting impatiently for the next one in the series.
Strongly recommended.
P.s There wasn’t even a word about hero’s love life, past or present and I loved this book more for that. No Ow/Om drama too.

I’m rating this somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star, bonus points for imaginative dick building. This was a good alien barbarian romance. It was gritty and harsh and the world building was well done. I did have a few issues with the first half of the book that really affected my overall enjoyment of it. The second half was decidedly better and had moments of sweetness and hope and a great villain arc that was bittersweet but satisfying.
My big issue with this book is the miscommunication angle that went on far too long. It didn’t make sense either and frustrated me a great deal. You see this planet had a universal language that all humanoid species spoke, the hero spoke it well as did the heroine, so there was no excuse as to why they didn’t speak to each other to overcome some major cultural differences between humans and the Dakkar. The MFC Luna struggled a lot the first half of the book trying to figure out how to navigate her new role in the horde. She made misstep after misstep, tripping over unknown rules and behaviours. Every time she made a misstep her horde King would be angry, he would banish her back to their tent and not speak to her... it would happen again and again. I mean one time, yes I get it, maybe a second time can’t be avoided, but at which point does this King step in and help her? He never does. He never gives her lessons on his people, she has to dig information out of her female helpers. She has to learn for herself over and over. It got very tiring and I almost gave up on the book.
The author keeps giving us glimpses of how kind and good the Horde King can be, she wants us to see him as a good husband, and yet he’s so cruel to her when he keeps information from her or doesn’t set her up for success as his queen.
I’ve read some reviews slamming the heroine for repeatedly making stupid mistakes in her time finding her footing and I have to argue this. How could she not make these mistakes? She had no guide here for her behaviour. She knew next to nothing of the Dakkar culture and Arakan knew that. He would say it to her ‘you really know nothing of the Dakkar, do you Kalles’ ya duh, big man, why don’t you enlighten her ffs!?
Once she finally finds her footing the story is good.
The dick building in this one is pretty solid too (pun intended), the imaginative elements this author added to her alien’s male member were good, he has a vibration feature that pulses with his heartbeat and a couple of strategically located knobs and of course he is King sized. The only problem is that she didn’t really utilize these features during the sexy times, I think he vibrates once and the knobs were never mentioned outside when Luna first sees them...what’s the point of these special adornments if we don’t get to read about them in practice?
I might read the next in the series but from the description it seems like a carbon copy of this one. 🤷🏼♀️ So maybe sometime down the road when I’ve forgotten this one enough.

So when Kivan burns the barren fields in an attempt to make them fertile again, the horde arrives and Luna offers her life in place of her brother.
The Hero: Aroken - he is the Dakkari Horde King that comes to enforce punishment on the settlers that burned the land. However, is surprised when a small human female offers her life in exchange for her brother. When sees her beneath her long cloak, he decides to take her to serve him and puts her on one of their great beasts and takes her with him to his home.
The Story: when Luna is taken to the Horde Kings tents, bathed and groomed by other women, she waited for him to arrive and assumed he would immediately take her to his bed. However after he returned he gave her a reprieve since she was sore from not being used to riding the beasts that the horde uses to get around. She was more surprised to when he tells her he will be making her his queen.
I have to admit, I didn’t really like Luna through much of the first part of the book. I guess it was her attitude. She gave herself up to the Horde King to save her brother, and sure if you do something like that you wouldn’t be happy about your new lot in life, but you would think she would at least try to get along and fit in a bit. However, she refused to eat, didn’t want to wear the clothes they gave her even though hers were threadbare and had holes. It seemed like she just wanted to act contrary for no good reason.
This book is told in dual points of view via Solo narration and was narrated by Lia Langola, who has a soft but somewhat deep voice for a female, which probably works best for solo narration. Though by the time I was part of the way through chapter six, I really wanted to hear a bit from Aroken’s point of view.

Overall Opinion: Well...it's obvious that Ms. Draven is a fan of reading the romance genre herself. I read of similarities of this book in reviews, but man! There was a lot! Here's a spoiler in case you don't want to read about them: . While I didn't necessarily mind those similarities, it actually became distracting in a way because I think the author could've gone her own unique route using those books as inspiration instead of being so dang similar. I also had a hard time with the h. I disliked her. She wasn't someone that I would want as a friend, and I think that is often how I rate the hs in my book. I wouldn't say I hated the book though! Overall, it was just an okay read for me.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Luna and Arokan's story. Luna is a human on a planet that Arokan is a horde king and native species to. There are rules that the humans must follow in order to inhabit the planet, and one day Luna's younger brother breaks one of those rules. To save his life, Luna offers herself in exchange and ends up being taken back to the king's horde. There are some horde dynamics that Luna has to get accustomed to, some violence, some sexy times...and they get a HEA ending.
Point Of View (POV): This was told in Luna's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I thought it flowed well and I never skimmed.
Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings.
H (Hero) rating: 3.5 stars. Arokan. He was alright. I didn't feel like we really knew his character and that if we had some of his POV it could've gone a long way.
h (heroine) rating: 2.5 stars. Luna. I struggled with her a lot. She seemed like she would go on bouts of being (what I think was supposed to be) strong willed where in reality I thought she was just being dumb and contradictory. I definitely didn't like her.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes

This was good! It definitely had a Khal Drago- GoT or The Golden Dynasty vibe, and I liked it a lot. The Hord King was actually quite a sweetheart. Loved him. Luna was a wee bit annoying at first, but she grew on me. I liked her.
Looks like I have a new series to look forward to. Can't wait for book 2. Happy reading!

Big smiles! This trope is practically impossible to pull off, but Zoey Draven did it in style.
She created some great tension between the m/c's and then ran with it . . . somehow managing to stay on the right side of the romance line without sacrificing the darker elements. Plus, the world building was very decent.
I'm looking forward to future installments.

This was fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I did not go into this book with much knowledge or high expectations.
It surprised me when I could not put it down and wanted to know what would happen to the two MC's.
Luna is taken away from the Horde king after her brother makes a grave mistake in setting fire to the crops and this is an absolute high offense to them.
She believes she is being taken away and being kept as his whore, but she is willing to do it to save her brother from being killed.
At first, she protests everything but slowly comes to realize they mean no harm and are treating her remarkably well.
Arokan reveals to her that she is not meant to be his whore but his queen, equal and mate. This surprises her and at the same time causes confusion. After that though they are a bit less animosity between her and everyone and she attempts to open to the future of her life with them.
Arokan's aunt though is against her and does make it known that she disapproves, and she will cause issues later.
Arokan and Luna grow closer and are obviously falling in love with each other, he is kind to her and is happy with her being by his side as that is all he has wanted from the moment he saw her.
He brings her brother to the horde and gives him permission to stay with them and he accepts it. He also sends food to her old village for her, he does a bunch of stuff that proves he has fallen for her and adores her.
Sadly, his aunt has a nefarious plan on giving Luna to their enemies to be taken away and kept far away. Thankfully, Luna was given some fighting skills during her time with the horde and can attempt her escapes but each time she is caught and loses the battle until she finally is free and that is the same moment when Arukan shows up and protects her.

This was fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I did not go into this book with much knowledge or high expectations.
It surprised me when I could not put it down and wanted to know what would happen to the two MC's.
Luna is taken away from the Horde king after her brother makes a grave mistake in setting fire to the crops and this is an absolute high offense to them.
She believes she is being taken away and being kept as his whore, but she is willing to do it to save her brother from being killed.
At first, she protests everything but slowly comes to realize they mean no harm and are treating her remarkably well.
Arokan reveals to her that she is not meant to be his whore but his queen, equal and mate. This surprises her and at the same time causes confusion. After that though they are a bit less animosity between her and everyone and she attempts to open to the future of her life with them.
Arokan's aunt though is against her and does make it known that she disapproves, and she will cause issues later.
Arokan and Luna grow closer and are obviously falling in love with each other, he is kind to her and is happy with her being by his side as that is all he has wanted from the moment he saw her.
He brings her brother to the horde and gives him permission to stay with them and he accepts it. He also sends food to her old village for her, he does a bunch of stuff that proves he has fallen for her and adores her.
Sadly, his aunt has a nefarious plan on giving Luna to their enemies to be taken away and kept far away. Thankfully, Luna was given some fighting skills during her time with the horde and can attempt her escapes but each time she is caught and loses the battle until she finally is free and that is the same moment when Arukan shows up and protects her.

This was a quick, easy, and smutty read.
The h (Luna) lives in a human settlement on a planet (not earth) that they have been on for at least a few generations (it is never specified exactly how long). Luna has had it tough as her mother passed away when she was 15 leaving her in charge of her younger brother Kivan. The humans have lived within what sounds like a sort of compound where they are restricted from leaving; they are not allowed to hunt outside of its walls or alter the lands, and they are running out of ways to feed their clansmen. In a misguided and desperate attempt to revive the farmlands that have not produced crops in many seasons, Kivan sets fire to a section of the farmland and ends up creating a massive fire that draws the attention of the Dakkari, a native species of the Dakkar planet. When the group of Dakkaris arrive on the scene, Luna begs for them to take her instead of killing her brother; she is even willing to die in his place.
Arokan (the H) is one of the ten horde kinds of Dakkar - he is responsible for a group of nomadic warriors, families, and workers that move among several encampments as the seasons change. He is responsible for maintaining order with the various different planet inhabitants; when he spots a wildfire burning within one of the human settlements, he takes several men to investigate. When he sees Luna, he immediately feels that she is his and he accepts her offer to go with the Dakkari in order to avoid any punishment of her brother. While Luna initially believes that she is offering herself to be a slave, she soon learns that Arokan desires her as his queen.
While many in the horde are welcoming, there are a few that do not think a human is an equal to their king. As Luna begins to settle into her new life and with her new husband, she knows that there are many dangers lurking in the form of other species wanting to control the planet as well as within their own community. Arokan promises his new queen that he will never allow anything to happen to her, but Luna knows he cannot be there all the time and vows to learn to protect herself. What will happen when the internal and external forces that wish to rid themselves of the new queen take action? Is there any hope for a human queen to be accepted within the horde? Can Luna let go of her past to accept a future with the horde king she is quickly falling for? And does he feel the same for her?
This was a fun read that flowed well and had lots of steamy goodness! I was in the mood for exactly what it delivered.

some things also felt lacking for me; like the H & h’s personalities, their chemistry, the story’s angst & intrigue in general. i mean, no language barrier? what barbarian story is this? alright pretty sure i woulda enjoyed this more had i not read tgd first. but gotta say arukon / akuron / akarun / arokun & luna (annoying bitch) were just not that interesting

I’m usually not a fan of alien based romance but this one was an exception!
Arokan extremely dominate Horde King who laid eyes on the one woman he couldn’t live without so he took her. *sigh* Well I guess it would be more accurate to say he made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. She accept a life with him or her brothers life would end. But don’t all great romances start out like that....well ..... this one did. Lol
Luna was an interesting character. Her backstory was well laid out and each issue seemed to find a resolution through her growing acceptance of the Horde. She thought she had been taken to be a whore. Luna soon found out she was taken to be Queen. She was Arokan’s one and only.
Surprising good plot with surprisingly great characters. Total shock for me. Typically can not get into the romance aspect of alien reads but this one got me. 💋💋💋💋

This definitely gave me IPB vibes, as well as Game of Thrones vibes, and I was so here for it. I loved how the heroine was forced to marry the Horde King and how she was actually really attracted to him and they had great chemistry. And how she would actually get jealous if it looked like he was giving other women attention? If you enjoy alien romances, I would highly recommend this series!!

For the fans of The Golden Dynasty this will be a very enjoyable read. It sure was for me( tho, nothing compares with KA TGD ).
I must warn you that this book has a few triggers that some of you may not be comfortable with , such as : violence / medieval mentality and techniques / dub-con and sexual persuasion (in the first part of the book anyway) .This being said let’s go on😋
Arokan is a Hoard King on the planet called Dakkar , planet inhabited by aliens such as our H but as well humans and other beasts.
The heroine finds herself pledging her services to our H in order to save her brother’s life.
The interactions between them in the beginning are not sweet and honey , Luna trying to fight the captivity that she put herself into.
I liked the H Arokan, he was attentive, gentle and careful towards her feelings.The dude had a huge package 😂🤪😶😬 with a bump that vibrated exactly on her clit , wow .. imagine that 😯😯 ( durex wants their penis rings back lol)

This book is making me uncomfortable. The so-called hero keeps assaulting the heroine and doing things to her that she's clearly not consenting to.
