I super loved this book!! Holy smokes, I learned so much good stuff and I plan on continuing Cold War reading, and possibly more Rubinstein, because it was so enjoyable. It's split up into first, historical chunks, then into spheres of influence, culminating in US/Soviet relations in present day (1981).

The Soviets have always been the best Super Jealous Boyfriend of international politics. Any propaganda they are slinging is a sure bet to be happening behind closed doors. It was kind of comical at times to read their obvious projections in publications like Pravda.

This is written in 1981, and the end is very tense! Things do not look good for Soviet/US relations!!! (It's OK guys) I need to dig further into Iran, Afghanistan, and Vietnam. Thankfully, Rubinstein provides detailed bibliographies at the end of every chapter, so I know where the go!
