“Learn to be indifferent to what makes no difference.” – Marcus Aurelius Today, we colloquially use the word Stoic to mean someone how to remain calm under pressure and avoid emotional extremes. But while this captures important aspects of Stoicism, the original philosophy was more than just an attitude. The Stoics believed that everything around operating according to a web of cause and effects resulting in a rational structure of the universe, with the called logos. While we may not always have control over the events affecting us, we can have control over how we approach things. Rather than imaging and ideal society, The Stoic tries to deal with the world as it is while parsing self-improvement. This book is specially designed to find the best wisdom of Stoicism in you your daily life.
A great collection of inspirational quotes. I found myself highlighting the majority of them, so instead of wasting l time, I’ll just keep this one on my device and read a passage once or twice a week.
This is a great little book to carry around, keep on your phone or store on your Kindle for future reference.
