Is revival possible in our generation? The Lord Jesus Christ said, “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). God is able to do more in a moment than we could in a lifetime. The problem is not with His lack of power but with our lack of preparation. Revival cannot be manufactured or manipulated. Spiritual awakenings come when God’s people connect their prayers to God’s purpose. In Revival Praying you will discover how one of the great prayers of the Bible can serve as a pattern for our prayer. The God who is a consuming fire will work if we will build the altar.
There are already several good reviews of this book, so I'll be brief.
I've had this book on my Kindle for a while, but I've never made the time to read it until yesterday. Let me say that, although I didn't know it at the time, this was exactly the book I needed to read at that time. The Lord spoke to my heart in multiple ways about prayer and its work. To prove my point, the book is short (it took me about 45 minutes to read carefully) but I highlighted 21 separate sentences or paragraphs for future use. There are many long books that don't get half that many highlights!
This is a very, very good book. I plan to buy physical copies and use it to facilitate a Bible study on revival praying sometime in the future. You will be better for reading this book.
This was little helpful book about revival praying. I was challenged to not just talk about prayer, but to be personally active in prayer. While other books work to exhaust (if that’s even possible) the topic of prayer, this book does not, but rather focuses on one of Ezra’s great revival prayer in Ezra 9. This was a quick and challenging read.
I found this as it was just coming out. This book showed up at a time of great need in our world. It is a wonderful encouragement to pray but also not to give up. Revival Praying is a motivating book, a teaching device, extremely practical. It is full of the Bible, powerful quotes, lists of other resources, the heart of Scott Pauley. Thanks for a great book sir.
This booklet is well worth the few hours it may take for you to read it. It will prove to be a great resource for a group Bible study as well. Great resource for revival, prayer and following God with this life.
I have personally known Scott Pauley for 24 years. I agree with what he says on page 64: "But God loves to work in the middle of our struggle. This is where He gets the glory! In another revival prayer, the prophet cried, "I Lord, I have heard that speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy" ( Habbakuk 3:2)
The emphasis of this book is prayer and the right spirit in prayer. Growing up I was always taught to pray for revival. This book highlights what scripture reveals we need a revival of praying for that equals revival. Not just public, meal-time, or nightly prayer, but effectual, fervent prayers by righteous men and women. Enjoyable short read.
"When real revival comes, the Lord changes everything...starting with us. He begins by changing our prayer life". This opening line caught my attention and pivoted me through this book. Revival - Let us continue to pray for the movement of the Holy Spirit in the lives of God's people.
This book is small, concise yet chocked full of helpful ways to increase the depth of one's personal prayer life. Real revival comes when the Lord works in our lives. Changing our prayer life is the best way to begin. This is a deeply personal book for those looking for effective prayer that results in revival.
I loved this quick read. I first found out about this book through the YouVersion devotional. I was intrigued by its reading and found the book that correlated with it. Using the book of Ezra as a guide, the authored showed the steps for revival. If you read it with a prayerful attitude, the Holy Spirit will show you what needs to change in you.
A quick read on the true meaning of revival. It’s not a sermon or a preacher, it’s a heart submitting to Gods leading in life that starts revival. Many prayers of the Bible are referenced specifically studying Ezra. Great read. Worth repeating before your church begins revival meetings as preparation.
Stirring..., Refreshing..., Convicting..., This is a short read written in clear, practical, powerful language. I read it in one setting. I then picked up my Bible and my prayer journal. I wept and a I prayed. I am confident, you will do the same.
Loaded with passages and good advice. Really good read prior to any revival meeting. Certainly worth the cost and would consider keeping hard copies in the church library.
This concise book on revival praying is heart stirring, thought provoking, and rooted in Biblical principe. This is an absolute must read for those who pray oft “Lord, teach me to pray.” I trust it will encourage as it has me to continue steadfastly in revival prayer.
Wise words from a wise man written in clear terms. Bro. Scott writes like he preaches, full of wisdom, but delivered in a way that anyone can understand.
Great book filled with biblical truths for prayer and revival. A must read for every bible student serious about God's word and a closer walk with Him.
This book is so refreshing practical. You will find yourself praying more purposefully and biblically. It is an easy but insightful read. You’ll can read it several times and still find nuggets of gold you missed.
I adore Scott Pauley! His podcast is wonderful and I found this book to be very helpful with understanding prayer, why we pray and what we should pray.
Excellent read! Short-read, yet extremely convicting. Reading this as we go through Prayer Revival at our church and how true it is to get quiet and still. Revival truly will only start with individuals crying out to God!
