Advertised as better than a ride-along and boy was it! This book sheds light on what it’s like to protect and serve, with a main character that is believable, fair and the kind of officer you want all other officers to aspire to be. Each chapter is a story of its own, that illustrate the shaping of a responsible young man into a exemplary cop. Spanning the first half of the career of a law enforcement officer, this book leaves you wanting more. So glad it’s “book 1” which implies that a book 2 is coming!

A great page turner! Each chapter describes a different, crazy incident from a day in the life of a cop. Each one provides insights into the types of challenges confronted by those who have chosen to take on one of the toughest jobs society has to offer. There were times I laughed, times I cried, and times I just shook my head in wonder at the things people do when they are in the middle of a stressful situation. A great read!

This book is a rich blend of stories for the reader who enjoys reading about the complicated, messy side of life that everyday cops, paramedics and fire fighters deal with everyday. Wow, what an eye opener!
