Rate this book
She's searching for a missing girl the authorities can't find. But the truth might get her killed. Trying to piece her shattered life together, ex-FBI profiler Darcy Gellar clings to a struggling relationship with Detective Julian Haines. Then a new case forces her to act when Julian's niece vanishes from a private college in Upstate New York. But Julian's niece has a dark secret. And the understaffed sheriff's department lacks the expertise to find the missing girl. Darcy empathizes with Julian's sister. She knows what it's like to lose a child to a deranged kidnapper. But when they search the countryside, Julian exhumes a dead teenage girl from the forest. Her face is too disfigured to identify. Is this Julian's niece? As Darcy and Julian investigate the murder, new suspects come to light. And more victims. She thought the nightmare was over, but a new serial killer stalks the night. And Darcy is his next target. Is Darcy prepared to unearth the truth about the vanishing girl's disappearance, even if it tears Julian apart? The page-turning serial killer thriller fans of Rachel Caine, Lisa Regan, Mary Burton, and Melinda Leigh will love. From the bestselling author of The Scarlett Bell Dark Thriller series. ❗️Research age demographics, CWs, and TWs for these books prior to reading to determine whether or not they're appropriate for you.

This was an exhilarating book. I can't hide my excitement over is over Darcy finally getting to have a love interest and turn it into a romance at the end. There was no loss for twists and turns which kept me on my toes the entire time. Julian has taken a spot in Darcy's family and fits quite nicely.

Woth hunter in college and Jennifer busy with extra Curriculars in school Darcy kept busy with her Private investigations business. I seriously had no idea who the killer actually wactually was until it very end at the end and that always makes a story More enthralling.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Happy Reading 📚 😊

The Vanishing Girl, the fourth novel in the Darkwater Cove Psychological Thriller series, is what one has come to expect from author Padavona – a great read. As they deal with their personal relationship, ex-FBI profiler Darcy Gellar and Detective Julian Haines are in upstate New York searching for his missing niece, Jo. What they will uncover are troubling signs of a serial killer, one whose crimes are escalating. They will need to race against time to find Jo alive. The novel is a nail-biting, edge of your seat page turner. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I have been reading this Darkwater Cove series and I must say I think 'The Vanishing Girl' is the best yet. As others have mentioned, I found myself flipping Kindle pages so fast that it felt like I was getting a burn on my fingers. You really get drawn in to this mysterious thriller that has girls going missing and some turning up dead. There is too much to tell so you better get this book to find out "who done it"!!

The Vanishing Girl

This is the best thriller series that I've read in long time. Once you start reading you cannot put this book down. It keeps you in suspense until the very end. I cannot it to start the next book. I highly recommend this book and this series. I swear each book in this series gets better.

A continuing story

Though each one of this series is an individual story with an ending you really need to read the one before in order to understand the nuances of just what is happening and why. Mystery with an undertone of romance.

Much better than previous ones!

Other than knowing this author likes the Ford Escape, it was a really suspenseful thriller! Darcy and Julian are looking for his missing niece, and then all hell breaks! Darcy is a tough gal, and her character just draws me in their world.

This is book #4 in a series. I did find several grammatical errors in this one unfortunately. I still liked books #2 & #3 best so far but this was definitely gripping for a thriller.

Talk about suspense, angst and mind games. I did know who was behind the missing girls, I had that figured out the minute we met the person. There were a lot of things to throw suspension on others. as the story unfolded things fell into place. In my opinion Dan Padavona gives you what you expect from him. I found he set this story up a little different than his other books, I really can't elaborate on this because I don't want to spoil anything. I found Darcy and Julian dealing with their growing relationship and dealing with Julian's missing niece very believable. As the case continues Darcy's insecurities about her relationship keep showing up. In my opinion Dan Padavona did not disappoint me with The Vanishing Girl. In my opinion Dan Padavona is a master at suspenseful psychological thrillers. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.

The 4th book in the Darkwater Cove series is the first book that’s not about Michael Rivers. Darcy and Julian are together but Darcy has her doubts since she is older than Julian and has 2 teenage kids. When Julian’s niece goes missing, the two of them go to upstate New York to find out what happened to her. Another page turner, love this series.
