Forced to flee from her father’s rage, Kaarina is escorted to a Christian village on the coast, where she finds employment and lodging with the kindly Emiline. Halvar, the village chief, remains at the village for the winter, and she has her friend Eira for company. She begins to feel secure at last.

But she has a secret phobia that she is ashamed to speak of. It threatens to paralyze her until Emiline’s handsome young neighbor Landwulf befriends her. He helps her to conquer her fear and she faces a growing desire to get to know him better.

Landwulf’s parents notice the blossoming friendship between the two and take action. Even as Kaarina is drawn to the Christians’ simple faith, Landwulf’s parents send him to another village to find a wife from among their own people.

Kaarina is devastated. While Halvar departs to protect their old village from her father, Kaarina does her best to mend a broken heart. When Landwulf returns, he begins to build a house for his new bride and Kaarina does her best to avoid him.

But one day, she is forced to come face to face with the man she loved. Have things changed between them? Can Kaarina trust him with her heart?

When she’s not engaged in sunshiny activities or writing feel-good stories, Kaitlynn is dealing with the real world. This includes life on a farm on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, where she lives with her husband and two children.

Another wonderful story by the talented Ms. Clarkson. Kaarina faces so many challenges, her angry father, a secret she was ashamed of, and a complicated love. I was captivated by the storyline right from the start, and found my invested in the story till the very end. This was quite the page-turner. The characters were all so well-defined. Kaarina and Landwulf's growing affection was so sweet and so harshly interrupted, I couldn't put the book down, anxious to see how it would all turn out. Ms. Clarkson has given us another well-written historical novel to enjoy. She brings the story and scenes to life with her excellent and vivid descriptions. I absolutely love reading her books and am looking forward to the next installment of this series!

A found faith and true love all in one place.
An angry father whom you are hiding from, a secret you are ashamed about and a love that would not be allowed is what faces Kaarina. Landwulf a neighbor was there to help Kaarina and feelings grew but Landwulf was sent away to find a bride in another village on of their own people. This was a beautifully written tale I liked the characters and the storyline. The secondary characters such as Eira help bring this tale to life. This faith-based tale was an engaging and charming read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Kaarina fled to a Christian village along with Eira and Halvar. There, she met Landwulf, and they fell in love. Unfortunately, their different belief and background made a relationship impossible. Once more, Kaarina is left alone to deal with rejection and has to find a way to be happy again.
The human side of the story, as well as the journey all the people made concerning the relationships between Christians and Vikings, was very relatable. I cannot wait to read the sequel and learn more about the issues the people will encounter due to their different backgrounds and beliefs. The approach to Christianity is very well described.

I wanted to finish this book much earlier than I actually did, because it was a pretty good read. I thought it was better written than the Ireland series by the same author. This story was longer, so it was nice to read about the developments of the plot and characters. The ending was still brief, however. This book would be enjoyable for younger readers (high-school aged).

Entertaining and interesting characters tell a fascinating historical story. The journey makes the story. Love can be complicated especially when family is involved. Good, quick read!

Historical romance clean

A trip into history and a view of the lives and traditions of long past.
This story seemed to continue and sum up the previous book in the series, but can be read alone.
I have enjoyed reading each book so far and look forward to reading more.

I like how they adapt to the different circumstances and find a new and fulfilling life. Kindness and care are so important in life, it makes everything better. A great ending.

Kaarina: Rejected is a very interesting book to read. It describes a beautiful Christian village and how the Vikings are introduced to Christianity. A nice book to read

Very good historical romance

I enjoyed reading Kaarina: Rejected, kept my interest to the end! Loved the main characters, follow them through trials and triumphs!
