If you love pilots and romance and steampunk worlds, you want to read this series by gifted fantasy author Lindsay Buroker. The characters she creates here are some of my favorite. The series name promised me dragons, and I got them in an unexpected way.
Ridge is handsome, debonair and funny. Sardelle is witty, intelligent and a healing sorceress who has a big heart and forgiving nature. Tolemek is the best anti-hero I’ve ever read because I actually liked him. The entire cast burrows into your heart and mind so you want to read the set in a single sitting, but there are weeks worth of goodness here.
If you haven’t read Buroker before, you’ll become a fan in no time. If you love fantasy, you want to read this. Anyone who wants a touch of romance with their adventure stories is in for a treat with this series.
The author draws you in and sprinkles humor, snark, and intrigue as you would salt and pepper on your food. I really enjoyed the style and getting to know the characters. With each new paragraph I became more invested in her character's stories.
The entire epic series on one big bundle! Steampunk, fantasy dragons and magic . Each book has romance, action, mystery and magic, some have dragons. Set in a world in the steam age where magic and dragons have been gone for centuries. The most advanced technology are the flyers which are powered by a mysterious power source. And then magic and dragons return. The books cycle through different main pov characters which help prevent them from feeling like one giant book. This bundle also includes two shorter books about secondary characters who's stories were intriguing enough to tell. My only complaint is that Goodreads only gives me credit for one book read instead of 10.
That being said, I hated the 5.5 book so I decided not to waste my time on the other spin offs. If you decide to skip this book (like I wish I had) read some spoilers reviews. It will tell you the story in about 5 minutes.
That being said, I love the characters in this series, I found myself devouring these books. (I think I listened to 8 books in a little less then 2 weeks).
