You Do You

Rate this book
A fresh new voice in inspiration for business professionals, You do You takes competitive strategy into the 21st century. Combining insights from cognitive psychology and recent sociological transformations, the writers create a compelling case for a counter-intuitive approach: turning your focus inward to become a better brand for your consumer.

"This book is for business leaders who wish to be fully present and aware in our current reality; those who wish to adopt a clear-headed perspective that realistically assesses the difficulties but at the same time is open to all the untapped opportunities that lie beyond their current imagination."

In irresistibly persuasive language, Nele Pieters and Stephanie Duval build on the foundation of competitive strategy developed in recent decades, and they are the first to add an original new dimension in almost 20 years. Challenging the reader’s assumptions in a playful manner, they follow up with sound and reassuring advice that enables brands to make better choices. You do You dares companies, organisations, and professionals to look at the world from a different perspective. By letting go of the urge to please everyone and by developing a consistent identity with a razor-sharp focus, brands will become irresistible to the people who matter the most.

You do you gave me a real “aha moment” and the first thing that came to mind after finishing the book was “why hasn't anyone ever explained this before?”
We all agree that being authentic is the only way to be successful in the long run and yet so many companies have grown so far from their true selves or don’t have a clear value proposition.
You do you challenges brands and leaders to look at every aspect of their identity and build a business that will set itself apart from competiton in the long run by building a lasting relationship with its consumers through authenticity. It is a handbook to find your own voice.
Inspiring and different from any marketing or business book I have ever read, Stephanie and Nele cut right through the bullshit ánd use solid marketing and psychology methodologies to back up their theories.
