You're into longform improv. Maybe you've been in a training program or two. Maybe one teacher's telling you to do one thing, and the next teacher's telling you to do something else entirely. Or maybe your scenes have just felt a little flat lately. Pat has played on house teams or touring companies of four of the biggest improv theaters in the US. In this book, he shares a simple approach to building rich, emotion-based improv scenes. Take a deeper look at the basics and find the amazing scenes that are just wating for you.
Is the power of meaningful improv so strong that a book about scene work made me laugh out loud and "aww" in silence more than once?
This book was wonderful. I'm just giving it a full rating because I genuinely didn't see anything wrong with it, and it kept me engaged until the last page. Yes, even past the Acknowledgements. There are so many nuggets to share, reflect on, and grow in, and it only excites me to improvise even more.
