When you left the lab and The Voice behind, you weren’t sure what to expect. There was a glimmer of hope there are survivors left. You’ve been in the forest now for what feels like an almost eternity…alone…until you’re not… Now you’re in an untenable situation that costs you the last ounce of strength you possess and could lead to your demise. The journey ahead will test your will and expose you to unimaginable danger. Predators, wild beasts, and The Voice lurk at every turn, but they’re nothing compared to the deadly mutation that sets its sights on you. Paul Davis’s 2132: Transformation is part of The Voice, a collection of two stories of the not too distant future. Each piece can be read in a single thought-provoking sitting.

This continuation did not hold up to original. I feel like the character just did what The Voice told him and didn't question things happening enough. Also, when he did find the other station, with the nanohybrid humans, why did he not ask what year it was and how much time had passed? He thinks about this, but when he has the opportunity, does not ask. The end was a bit anti-climactic. Even though The Voice manipulated him for some agenda that died with its original creator, we don't know what will now be done with the data that the main station finally obtained.
I like the premise of this story, but I needed a little more to go on. I don't even mind that the H, our unnamed protagonist, dies in the end. The threads of the story were not wrapped up. My only hope would be that there will be another chapter and characters to wrap up the plot.

I'm glad that the MMC managed to survive after leaving the lab in the previous book.
Although The Voice did intrigue me and made me want to know who created it etc, it did get frustrating at times that information was constantly held back and hidden with the excuses of "I'm not permitted to tell you" and "I only know what I know, not what I can't tell you".
I liked the fighting scenes and the new creatures that had evolved. The descendants of the survivors of the vaccine were interesting but I wanted to know even more about them.
The ending was very sudden and I was a bit disappointed at how things were left. I wanted to know what happened to the MMC, if the Waukina killed him, if The Voice at Prime Lab helped him and what the next mission/objective was
A short but very interesting reading and most unfortunately, in my opinion, although this is a work of fiction it may become true in the future. Human kind has been devastated by a virus and nobody knows how many were left in the planet. Only one guy is able to reconnect previously research established centers and therefore discover how many people were left, but will The Voice allow it? We haven´t still discovered that in this book, may be in the next, which I´m looking forward to read. I downloaded a free copy of this book from Bookfunnel and this is my honest review.
