Taking a schoolteacher position in another district is just the change Amish spinster Eva Coblentz needs. And with her new neighbor, blacksmith Willis Gingrich, struggling to raise his three orphaned siblings, Eva is determined to help them heal. But when her relatives insist she come home, Eva must choose between the life she left…and the one she’s growing to love.
Healing Their Amish Hearts by Leigh Bale
Becca Graber has made it her mission to get the silent boy in her new classroom to speak again. But when she meets the boy’s grieving vadder, widowed firefighter Jesse King, Becca realizes that two hearts need mending. As Becca and Jesse try to break through to Sam, will they also find a way to reach each other?
I was born and raised in Northcentral Kansas. I'm a farmer's daughter, but I now make my home in the city of Wichita. I'm an RN. Neonatal nursing has been the main focus of my career. What can I say? I love babies. I was invited to the highschool graduation of a baby I took care of. Talk about making me feel old!
In June of 2011 I became a widow after my husband of 36 years and 11 months died from multiple brain tumors. It was a very sad time, but thanks to the three f's, my faith, my family and my friends, life is moving forward. I have four brothers, one daughter and two grandchildren who all work at making me feel loved.
I'm the author of more than 30 books and I'm currently writing a series called The Brides of Amish Country for Love Inspired.
There are some familiar characters in this book because it is book 3 in the North Country Amish series. I wasn’t aware of that when I purchased this two in one book. But I love Patricia David’s and I enjoy reading anything she has written. So the first book THE AMISH TEACHERS DILEMMA was a good read. The author did a great job dealing with dyslexia in children and adults. I love the way the Amish community pulled together to help her as a teacher. I really liked Eva. Her strong faith and her unselfishness and beautiful attitude. The second book, HEALING THEIR AMISH HEARTS by Leigh Bale, was also about a teacher. Becca has such a beautiful heart. And she loves the children, her scholars. I could picture the little boy in the book, Sam. I wanted to give him a squeeze. Wonderful story of love after tragedy. Both these books were previously published in 2020 by Harlequin Love Inspired. But they were brought out in a two books in one volume in February of 2021.
I thoroughly enjoyed both these stories. I loved that the heroines were teachers. The heroes were doing their best to care for children which warmed my heart. The stories read as real, and I was engrossed in the relationships. A must-read if you enjoy Amish fiction.
