Will Nick ever see Melissa as more than just a kid?
Claimed by the Devil is the eighth book in the Devils Riders series. This book can stand alone, but there’s constant references to previous couples. Melissa is home, taking care of her family ranch and her sick mother when the object of her teenage crush walks into the barn. Nick has always captivated her, but will he ever see her as more than just a kid? Will she trust the depths of their connection?
I really enjoyed reading this book! There’s so much emotion in these pages and I love all of the connection that you can find with the brotherhood of the club, between the wives, and of course, between Melissa and Nick! I absolutely love that both characters have similar personalities, preferring horses and family, being a little more quiet, and going through similar things in their lives. Nick was completely adorable in the beginning of the book, feeling like a dirty old man, but I loved how he stepped up immediately and offered support, comfort, and love when needed. Melissa had a bit of growing up to do in these pages, but I enjoyed the sweetness of her character and how well she fit with Nick. Their connection was instantaneous, both sweet and steamy, and even though this book hit emotional heartstrings, I enjoyed their chemistry, too! One thing that I love about this book and series is how the chapters aren’t only from Melissa and Nick’s point of views, but also from other characters. We get to see tiny glimpses into their lives and emotions, too! This book had me at the edge of my seat, flipping pages, and cheering for this protective and rough teddy bear as he claims the woman he loves!
