Nate Long has always watched over his identical twin brother, Aaron, even when it put him on the wrong side of the law. When Aaron is wounded in a shootout, the brothers are taken to Settler's Fort to recover. As Nate works to make reparations for their past, he marvels at the nursing Aaron receives under the care of a woman with all the reason in the world to resent him.
Laura Hannon knows what it is to start over, and she knows Nate's newfound faith is real. What she can't look past is how far he allowed himself to be led astray by his brother's weaknesses.

Misty Beller just keeps getting better and better. I love history and she writes this time period very well indeed. She gives us unforgettable characters with a good plot, and a little mystery thrown in for good measure. It was good to see old friends from the previous two books in the series. This novel can be read as a stand alone, however, so don't hesitate to get it! Highly recommended.
My thanks to Bethany House Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. I was not compensated and the opinion in this review is my own.
A story of second chances and love in the mountains of Montana.
Nate Long is working hard to right the wrongs that he committed while running with an outlaw gang, and standing by his brother through his recovery. He can't help but be drawn to the lovely Laura Hannon tending to his injured twin, but can she see past his mistakes?
Nate is a likable hero, I admired his determination to pay back the people that he and his brother stole from in the past, and how he is willing to sacrifice his own comfort to make it possible. Laura is very kind and despite everything that she has been through, keeps looking for the best in people. I loved how they bonded over their shared faith and hearts for helping others.
This was a quick read with likable characters, set in the rugged frontier. A wonderful conclusion to the series, with protagonists who don't let their pasts define them. I liked the strong themes of faith and second chances as well. A wholly enjoyable read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book is the third book in Hearts of Montana series and it continues the journey of Nate and Aaron with fluency, skill, and depth expected from this beloved author in 1867 Montana Territory. I would highly recommend reading this series in order since the each book picks up where the previous left off.
Laura struggles from her kidnapping incident though she's settled in to being the town doctor's assistant. Her sweet, tender, and ever helpful spirit is also stricken with the fact that she accidentally shattered Aaron's leg. Nate, Aaron's twin and a reformed thief, works hard and saves every penny so that he can repay those whom he robbed in the past. Though plagued by past insecurities and hurts, Laura and Nate cling to their faith and hope, which is incredibly heart-warming. This book is a bit different from the author's usual fare - it concentrates less on battling wintery forces and wilderness of the western mountainous frontier but centers around the growing mining town and the dangers of greed. The themes of overcoming adversity and bitterness, true forgiveness, as well as relying on God and His strength and timing are studded throughout the story and bring much hope when Laura and Nate are facing difficulties and uncertainties. If you enjoy historical romance, you will definitely enjoy this book.
I received the book via Celebrate Lit Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
This story revolves around admirable characters who are striving to overcome their circumstances that seem to keep kicking them while they're down. Nate and Laura each have faith to rely on for strength through their frustrations, and it gives them something in common as their friendship deepens, as well as the fascinating cave in the mountains and its hidden occupants. The pace of the story moved a bit too slowly for me, and kept referencing Laura and Nate's experiences from the previous book, so I don't think it should be read as a stand alone. Overall the book provided the author's trademark storytelling style of the harsh wilderness and frontier living with a hefty dose of faith-filled themes.

It's a hard thing to come into the middle of a series, but even harder still to come in at the end. It's like watching the last season of a television series having never watched any of the previous episodes. That's what I did in choosing to read Faith's Mountain Home. I also assumed that the lead character in the book was named Faith, but her name is Laura.
Laura lives with the local doctor and helps out in his practice for room and board. Nate's brother, Aaron is staying there, too, waiting for his leg to heal from the gunshot that Laura inflicted upon him. In an earlier book in this series, Laura was kidnapped by Aaron and Nate and a group of bandits. Laura always carries a pistol with her since she's basically alone. While most of the gang who kidnapped Laura were hanged, but Aaron and Nate were sentenced to restitution. While Aaron has been laid up, Nate has been working in a mine saving his earnings to pay their debt.
In a bid for some adventure, Laura goes hiking up a nearby mountain and finds a cave. She doesn't have enough light to truly explore the cave, but Nate had the same idea and meets Laura in the cave. They decide to come back with lanterns and explore the cave further and these events lead to a beautiful friendship that develops into something more.
This was a sweet book with a lot to offer, but it would have been best to have read the whole series. That does not detract from the quality of Misty M Beller's writing. Her descriptions and the movement of the plot are spot on for an entertaining read. The title of the book refers more to the faith of Nate and Laura finding its home within each of them, which is a great way to look at things. Four strong stars.
Bethany House and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. A great story about redemption and righting wrongs, how overcoming life’s trials can be accomplished through God. The story takes the reader on a journey that can only be described as powerful and riveting. The romance is sweet and clean, showing chivalry at its finest. The characters show Gods love through actions of caring and putting oneself last. The author uses a geological formation in a cave to wrap this story all in one neat package while keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. So much to love about this book, love, action, mystery and Indians. This is a beautiful story that will touch every corner of your heart! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I love this series where minor characters become major ones. Isn’t that true in life? Everyone is a major character depending on the point of view. Misty Beller shares her gift of storytelling, linking souls together. Unlikely friends join in the healing process which begs for forgiveness and patience.
The challenges the characters face—emotional, physical, and spiritual—might appear more than anyone can bear. But the application is not missed with today’s problems and dilemmas. Illness and death surround us. Financial possibilities loom just out of reach—some hopeful, others disasters. Questions and pleas soar to God daily. The mountain and harsh winter may not be a physical reality, but the ensuing difficulties sure are.
Join the journey with Laura and Nate as they collide with the elements and hope for a brighter future.
FAITH'S MOUNTAIN HOME is a story about a woman who is trying her best to find joy and be a blessing to others and a man who is trying to find redemption for him and his brother's misdeeds in the past. Both also continue to build their faith and trust in God. What starts as an attraction and a curiosity about a cave begins a closer acquaintance and then more as they slowly fall in love. However, their happily-ever-after is tested by a brother who still must face his past and danger. Recommended to fans of the author and Christian historical romance fans.
I really liked these characters, particularly Nate. Nate wanted to leave the gang and find honest work a long time ago, but he was trying to protect his twin brother. Now that they no longer are in a gang, Nate continues to protect his brother while he recovers from a gunshot wound by honest work as he slowly pays off the debts of their gang. He's become a man of God, although his faith is still new. He has become such a good man. I loved most his desire to work hard, do right, and to protect those he loves. I also loved how he is so careful with Laura. He doesn't feel worthy of her, but he grows to love her all the same.
Laura was also a great character with her own demons, especially after being kidnapped by Nate's gang and growing up as she did. I did find her a bit weepy the first half of the book. It seems like she is always thinking about things from the past and getting emotional, although I also understood why. She comes through and shows her backbone and desire to care for others in the best of ways. Her and Nate are a good match and it was sweet to see their relationship develop. I also loved the cameos from prior characters as well as the addition of Bright Sun (I can definitely see this fierce and sweet girl having her own story in the future, maybe with little Samuel).
I thought the story moved at a good pace. It was interesting to read, with a very strong faith message woven throughout, but one that didn't feel pushy. The romance slowly built and felt genuine. It definitely was my favorite part of this story as Nate and Laura figure things out personally, but also together.
In the end, was it what I wished for? This was an enjoyable, faith-filled, sweetly romantic story with likable characters. I'm looking forward to more in this series from this author!
Content: Clean Source: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Celebrate Lit, which did not require a positive review. All opinions are my own.
When Nate Long first laid eyes on Laura Hannon it wasn't the best of situations. His brother Aaron has been a participant in the kidnapping of Miss Hannon along with a young boy from a robbery gone bad. He wanted no part of it but before he could safely save her and the boy there was a shootout and his brother was shot and badly wounded. Their begins Nate and Laura's story.
This is such a good story that has a little of everything. There are challenges that both Nate and Laura are facing but with each passing day they become closer and their past seems to be getting farther away. They both have challenges with Aaron and his healing and it takes them both to get through to him. There is danger lurking and not sure where it is coming from and mystery of a cave. These characters endure a lot and they keep going with determined strength and faith.
This series is an ongoing series so this book doesn't end with Nate and Laura's story finishing, it will continue on and the characters continue to grow and build. It's not a cliffhanger but just an ongoing story of all the characters that we get to follow. I really am enjoying it as it's like having a window into the past and to be along for their journey.
I received an early copy from Netgalley to read and review with my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it. It has lots to offer and keeps your attention throughout. Very well written and takes you back in time to a point of our history where times were hard and your faith was what got you through the toughest of times.
Misty Beller has written another wonderful story. I just love her writing style. I love them because they are good clean reads and have wonderful Christian messages. I have been following this author for a long time and her stories just keep getting better and better! The way Beller writes makes the readers feel like they were in a part of the story. I enjoyed reading about Aaron, Nate and Laura and their adventures. I didn't really want to say goodbye. I felt like they were my friends. Now I feel like I have to wait forever until her next book comes out. She's an awesome storyteller. There's a bit of mystery in this book. I always enjoy a good mystery. I highly recommend this book. Her characters will leave you thinking about them long after the story is over. My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this story. The mysterious cave made a fun addition to the story and kept my interest. Nate and Laura were likable characters and I especially wanted to see Laura get a happy ending after the last book in this series. All in all, worth the read.
This story warmed my heart from the first page until the last, and I was both contented and saddened when it ended. It was wonderfully written, and I felt really connected to the characters, so it wrapped up nicely. The author has a comfortable writing style that makes the read feel like a "cozy winter" read while also being drama-filled and engaging. While the story started off quiet, more and more things happened as the action picked up, so by the time I was reaching the end of the book, my mind had shifted gear and I was on the edge of my seat. As an inspirational romance, it was light on the intimacy, but the beauty of Misty Beller's writing is that you don't need that intimacy to feel the romance. It was a beautiful thing.
Laura Hannon and Nate Long have a troubled past. Nate was involved with a gang that kidnapped her, and although he tried to stop them from hurting her, things escalated and ended with her shooting his twin brother in the leg. Now they are all trying to heal from wounds, both physical and emotional, and ignore the attraction that has been blooming between Laura and Nate. Laura feels great guilt over injuring Nate's brother, and with their history, she knows nothing could ever happen between them. However, as things happen that force them together again and again, they realize that healing doesn't have to occur alone. Maybe together they can build something even better than what was there before.
Nate was a sweetheart, and I wish I had read the second book in this series to get more backstory on his participation with the gang. He seemed to be caught in the middle, between doing the right thing and supporting his brother, but when a woman became involved, along with the little boy she was in charge of, he drew the line. He had worked so hard to not only heal himself but also make up for the things the gang stole from others, which meant making his own shelter, hunting for food, and taking on a dangerous job to make more money. While I felt bad for him, I also was really proud of his strength and determination to right a wrong, especially a wrong that didn't seem to be his to own. Laura was a quiet yet strong-willed woman, and it was interesting to see both sides of her come out at different times. She wasn't loud or arrogant, and so when she spoke out, people listened to her. She truly cared for other people, even those who had done her wrong, and her compassion was endless. I loved when she and Nate worked together on a common goal, and his brother was a great antagonist throughout the story, providing another perspective that I think we could all understand.
Now that I realized I skipped a book, I will definitely be going back to read the second in the series. The first was amazing and easily an enjoyable read for all, as was this one.
**I received a free copy via NetGalley and this is my honest review.**
Laura Hannon was kidnapped by a gang of thieves, who have now been captured. She’s living in the doctor’s house in Settler’s Fort and helping care for Aaron, one of the kidnappers – the one who tried to help her, and who she accidentally shot. She feels guilty about Aaron, and nervous around Nate, Aaron’s brother, who visits regularly.
Nate was also part of the gang, but turned away and is now working in the local mine and saving every spare penny to repay the money the gang stole. But after meeting Laura at a hidden cave, he also wants to spend more time with her, especially after the discover two Native Americans living in the cave who need help.
Nate is an excellent character—someone who has done wrong in the past (although for what he thought were good reasons), and who has now become a Christian and who is trying to make up for his past misdeeds. Unfortunately, that’s not always easy.
Faith’s Mountain Home is the third book in Misty M Beller’s Hearts of Montana series. I read and reviewed the first book in the series (Hope’s Highest Mountain), but haven’t read the second. While Faith’s Mountain Home worked well as a standalone novel, there were times when I felt I didn’t understand some of the character’s history because I hadn’t read Love’s Mountain Quest. At least, I assume the kidnapping and Nate’s subsequent conviction and redemption was part of the previous story. That unknown backstory was the one thing that annoyed me in Faith’s Mountain Home, and I would have enjoyed it more if I’d better understood what came before.
Apart from that, I enjoyed the story. I very much like Misty M Beller’s writing. She does an excellent job of writing Christian characters who feel like real people, and puts them in stories that have plenty of conflict but still allow for a happy ending. Her stories are easy to read, engaging, and a perfect way to relax.
Recommended for Christian historical romantic suspense fans. Thanks to Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
This book is another example of Misty M. Beller's ability to transport readers back to another time and place with her vivid descriptions of the beauty of the Montana Mountains and the harsh living conditions that existed there in the late 1860s. Settler's Fort in the Montana Territory is the setting of Faith's Mountain Home and Laura Hannon is faced with some painful decisions when she finds that two of the men responsible for her recent kidnapping are now with her at the fort. Aaron Long is seriously injured and in need of medical care but can she set aside her painful memories to help him? His brother Nate regrets his actions and has turned to God but will Laura accept that he is truly a changed man?
I admired Nate for his determination to change and Laura for her encouragement but it is their growing attraction that makes this so special. Faith's Mountain Home is a heartwarming story of faith, forgiveness, and redemption and it's the perfect way to end the Hearts of Montana series. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical Christian romance.
I received a complimentary copy from the author via Celebrate Lit. There was absolutely no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
Faith's Mountain Home is an exciting story! Laura, is living with the town doctor and his wife as an extra helper, and there is a patient, Aaron, that she herself had shot in the leg, so he can't walk and he blames her. Aaron has a twin brother, Nate, who becomes a dear friend to Laura. There is a lot of excitement in the story, and I really enjoyed reading it! Very clean story!
What a wonderful conclusion to the Hearts of Montana series. I was sucked right in as I was waiting for Laura’s story after getting to know her in book two. I love how this author gives us hope and it shines through even in the midst of difficult times. I enjoy reading about the 1800’s and how difficult life must have been in such rugged country and with unscrupulous people. This book is a complete package with adventure, romance, faith, and history. The characters come alive on the page and I loved the addition of Eagle Soaring and Bright Sun and also revisiting characters from previous books. I definitely recommend reading. I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
This is a really beautiful story taking place in a small town called Settler's Fort nestled in the Montana mountains. From the descriptions the author has used I think this would be an absolutely beautiful place to live. With the mountains so close that you can go out and explore to your heart's content. This is exactly what Laura is doing at the first of this book. She has been through many terrible things in her life but one of the things she loves to do to get a rest from the memories and the things happening in her life even now, is to climb and explore. It is on one of these adventures that she comes across 2 native Americans who are in need. When she takes a tumble and is in need herself, the twin brother of the angry man at the clinic she helps at comes to her rescue. Nate is a man with a heavy load on his life. He is trying to repay people for the mistakes he has made, while trying to get his brother back on his feet. The characters in this story are very easy to come to care about. The main characters Laura and Nate both have troubles they need to overcome. Doc Micah and his wife Ingrid are also major players in this story. I enjoyed hearing how Doc was able to work on a shattered bone at this time in history when there was no where the knowledge we have today. This story does have romance, suspense and mystery all rolled into the lives of the people in this story. There are also beautiful views of how the people in this time period put their trust in God. I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely enjoy if it would turn into a series. I would enjoy reading more about grandpa Eagle Soaring and his eight year old granddaughter Bright Sun. I would like to know if Laura finds her purpose in life and if Ingrid is ok. A really interesting book that I would recommend to anyone that likes reading about this time in history before the USA was totally formed into the various states. I received a free download of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion.
A magical ending to a thrilling, inspiring, and romantic series! Faith’s Mountain Home will keep readers hooked from the first pages, with Misty M. Beller’s exceptional talent for detail and storytelling.
Beller excels at showing the struggles of the human spirit in an awe-inspiringly realistic manner, and each character will leave a distinct impression on the reader. There are plenty of moments of exquisite romantic tension, as well as beautifully inspirational lessons. Readers will love seeing familiar faces from the first two books in the series, and I really hope we see more of Aaron in a future story!
Though I’m sad to see this series end, I could not have asked for a better conclusion. Nate and Laura’s story is perfect for fans of authors such as Jody Hedlund and Melissa Jagears, and I highly encourage readers to read everything Beller writes! 5/5 stars
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
"That long familiar knot pulled tight in his gut . . . . . God had forgiven him, but truly putting the past behind him was a whole new matter."
Nate Long is a new man on the inside. Having confessed his past mistakes to both God and man, he is trying to live a new kind of life, working off a debt incurred through lawless associations , while also encouraging his twin brother during a long recovery from a gunshot wound that nearly shattered his leg. But it's the lovely young physicians assistant who begins to work another kind of miracle; this one burrowing deep within the recesses of Nate's lonely heart.
Laura Hannon is a bit wary of getting too close to the Long brothers. After all, they were members of the gang of bandits who had kidnapped her, but to their credit, they had attempted to keep her safe during the unfortunate incident. If only her stray shot hadn't damaged Aaron Long's leg causing severe damage. Thankful for the opportunity to settle in Settler's Fort while aiding the local physician and his wife, Laura is unexpectedly thrust into accepting Nate's help, finding that his handsome exterior houses a kind nature and a genuine desire to lovingly protect. Does she have the courage to believe in her own happy endings?
Readers will genuinely respect this author's ability to weave Scriptural truths into the very fabric of her characters; this story displaying the freedom from one's past that only forgiveness can bring while demonstrating God's remarkable power to resolve situations outside of human control. And of course, a little romance makes everything sweeter!
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It's a beautiful inspirational story that the author brings to life with her words. You can see the scenery, feel all of the emotions and the characters come to life. It's a book that once you start reading it you don't want to stop. I hated to see this book end. If you like Christian Historical fiction that has drama, suspense and romance you will love this book. Thank you Bethany House and Misty M. Beller via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
I think this might be my favorite of the series. It was hard for me to put it down. This story is a continuation from the previous book. Laura was kidnapped in the previous book and had accidentally injured Nate's brother when she was being rescued from being kidnapped. Nate had a criminal past and is doing everything he can to pay restitution to those he has stolen from. Laura is helping the Doc in town and one of his patients happens to be Nate's brother, whom she injured. This story has a strong Christian message. It has a message of forgiveness and new life in Christ. This was a sweet Christian romance.
I don’t know how author Misty M Beller comes up with the mountain living stories she writes but she does, and she has written another winner in Faith’s Mountain Home! I love the visit back with some of my favorite characters, plus a few new ones added to the mix. This story takes up after Laura and Samuel were kidnapped and found. Nate Long has been looking after his brother Aaron since the shooting, with little help from Aaron. Nate also has an attraction for Laura that he just can’t shake. And how can this twisted tale ever make sense?
I love, love this story. Nate and Laura are such interesting and flawed characters and I love the attraction between the two. It’s true that this book is a little more laid back than the first two, not as much action going one but I love it just as well. Laura was a good fit for the clinic, and having to deal with Aaron and his attitude was difficult, but she handles it well and even reaches out to him. Nate is my favorite though, he’s such a sweet caring person but I did get frustrated at him for letting his brother’s attitude bring him down, and especially for working so hard to pay Aaron’s part of the restitution. I always love the way Ms. Beller weaves such strong faith in the Lord in the lives of her characters. I sure hope we see more from these characters and this series. I give this one Five Stars and wish I could give it more.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
It was the first book in the Hearts Of Montana series that got me started reading Misty M. Beller's historical romances. While waiting for the following books in that series I read, or rather listened to, one of her earlier series. But, now with Faith's Mountain Home I've come back around to the series that started it all for me.
After reading the previous book in the Hearts Of Montana series I've been waiting months for Faith's Mountain Home. I'd come to admire Laura for her bravery, determination, and kindness, and I so very much wanted to see her find healing, and love, after her terrible ordeal. The jury was still a bit out for me about Nate, on the one hand he tried to do the right thing when Laura was kidnapped but on the other he was still an outlaw. But, I needn't have worried, in this book Misty M. Beller more than wiped away any reservations that I still harbored about our hero.
Danger and romance blend together in this story of faith and forgiveness that is sure to entertain. From the pretty cover design to the last page Faith's Mountain Home is a good read and a great addition to Misty M. Beller's Hearts Of Montana series. If historical romance is your thing you should definitely check out this series...

This is book #3 in the “Hearts of Montana” series. If you haven’t read the first two books in this series, you can easily pick up on the story as you read through this book. Misty Beller’s many fans will love this new story that features Nate Long and Laura Hannon.
When I’ve reviewed previous books by Misty Beller, I’ve always commented about how her descriptive writing makes me feel as if I’m traveling in the wilderness on the mountain trails. In this story, I could easily imagine the caverns deep in the cave and feel the winter winds and the chill from the snow. Since both of these are an integral part of the story, the author did an excellent job helping the reader experience what the characters were going through.
I had sympathy for both Nate and Laura and the tragedies in their lives. I liked that Nate’s faith helped encourage him to do everything possible with the new chance that had been given him. Laura’s compassion was an inspiring part of the book, and the romance between the two was a sweet one.
I’m hoping there’s another book in this series. I’d love to know what happens next for Aaron, and also for Bright Star.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Faith’s Mountain Home is another captivating story by Misty M. Beller. This tale connected me to the previous characters of this series with their current issues to overcome. Nate and Aaron Long past was not the best but Nate’s new found faith gave him purpose to be an over comer. Laura Hannon is discovering where she fits in at Settler’s Fort as well as letting go of her family’s past. Add in an element of mystery, new discoveries, adventure, faith and romance this story is one that could not be put aside until the end. I appreciate the depth of Beller’s capturing the beauty found in Montana and the history surrounding the area. I would like to see a continuation of the characters found in Hearts of Montana to see how they are progressing with new changes they’ve discovered in their lives.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit and was under no obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed my own opinion.
I was excited to read the third book in this delightful series after enjoying the first two so much. I do recommend that these books be read in order as the story continues throughout all of them. I liked the characters a lot and loved how their faith grew in the story. The setting was very well described and I could easily envision the Western setting. The historical aspect was also well done, as the struggles of living in such a rugged place came to life on the pages. There is a thread of suspense in the novel to keep it interesting and the romance is clean and poignant. I liked this book and recommend it to those who enjoy historical fiction!
I received a complimentary ecopy of this book from Celebrate Lit Tours. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Nate and Laura are a great couple. They have a lot of baggage that they have to get past before they can get together but it is worth it for them. I also love the suspense that runs through the story. I really enjoyed reading this western historical romance. There are many wonderful descriptions of the area also. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
I have loved this whole series. It was so nice to read Laura's story. There was a lot of challenge, change and forgiveness in this story. Nice the characters from the previous books could have a place in this story and it was all tied up well.
Once again Misty has created an engaging story with fun and realistic characters. The suspense kept me turning the pages, while the storyline kept me fully involved in the character's lives.
