After the untimely and suspicious death of her parents, Veronica is left alone at an age far too young and ill prepared to face a very violent and cruel world. Every time it appears that she is about to overcome her dreadful situation a new circumstance brings her back to the wretched life she is trying to escape. Veronica eventually finds herself in the unique position to administer vengeance and is thrilled with the results. One can only root for her as she goes on a spree of settling the score with the many that have harmed her.Pain is a fast moving novel that includes neighborhood characters and their dysfunctional ways. These misfits often bring a degree of ironic humor to this story, but make no mistake the dark humor provides only brief relief from the "Pain"!
