Cathy Sharp is happily married and lives with her husband in a small Cambridgeshire village. They like visiting Spain together and enjoy the benefits of sunshine and pleasant walks, while at home they love their garden and visiting the Norfolk seaside.

Cathy loves writing because it gives pleasure to others, she finds writing an extension of herself and it gives her great satisfaction. Cathy says, 'There is nothing like seeing your book in print, because so much loving care has been given to bringing that book into being.'

A little disappointed, not the normal Cathy Sharp book, just couldn’t get into it, I finished it hoping it would get better, it ended suddenly like it was rushed, I will however continue to follow Cathy and hope this is just a one off

An orphan's dream by Cathy Sharp is a story of a poor 12 year old boy Danny who had lost his lovely mother and was torchered by his drunken father. The novel starts with the story of a hospital and its sisters.Starting with the sad life of Rose who had lost her faith in love.
It's amazing how the writer has linked the story of Rose and Danny. Danny left his house and kidnapped by some smugglers, fought with them and admitted to the hospital where Rose was nurse and she accepted Danny along with her landlady Beattie and became his foster mother. After sometimes again Danny was kidnapped by his father and lost his hope in finding a place called home.
At the end he was rescued and found his uncle Ted and his friend Ron. Rose also found love of her life and many other character's life in this story ended happily.
Totally this book is a good one with some twists and some sad moments which bring out a terrific feeling while reading.

I was drawn in by the emotional depth of the characters, especially the children who, despite facing hardship and loss, show incredible strength and spirit. The story balances heartbreak with hope, and I found myself rooting for every character to find the love and security they deserved. This is a moving, uplifting read that lingers in your mind long after the final page. Perfect for readers who enjoy emotional, character-driven historical fiction.

To be honest it is not my type of book, but friends raved about it. The storyline was very tame and predictable. No real substance to the story really. Very much like reading Call the Midwife. Maybe it will suit lots of people, as there are numerous books by Cathy and all about orphans, but not for me.

Ok but a bit repetitive

I have read all of Cathys books but I have to say I found this one very repetitive and predictable. The storyline is good but you could tell what was going to happen, not a lot of depth to it

Another lovely Button Street Orphan's Read. I simply love all these stories about the Button Street Orphan's and I love the grown up characters. I am now looking forward to the next one.
